Frederick Rose
March 9, 2000
Frederick H. Rose, 50, of Fort Hunter Road, town of Florida, died Thursday at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
He was born July 18, 1949, in Amsterdam, the son of Fred and Joan Borden Rose. He attended Fonda-Fultonville schools and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Rose was employed by West Central Environmental of Rensselaer.
He was a member of the Florida Reformed Church in Minaville, the Johnstown Moose Lodge, and a former member of the Fort Hunter Volunteer Fire Department.
He married Katherine J. Auspelmyer Sept. 7, 1968.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Kenneth F. Rose of Tribes Hill and Stephen M. Rose of the town of Florida; his father and step-mother, Fred and Mary Rose of Tribes Hill; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 3 p.m. Saturday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., with the Rev. Joyce Jennings officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.
Calling hours will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Reformed Church or a charity of one's choice.

Leonard Brudzienski
March 4, 2000
Leonard J. Brudzienski, 79, of Lomasney Avenue, Schenectady, died Saturday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Schenectady, the son of Joseph and Bernice Derezewski Brudzienski, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during World War II.
Mr. Brudzienski was employed in the turbine department at General Electric Co. in Schenectady and was a security guard at Knolls Atomic Laboratory for 39 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Schenectady.
He was a past member of the Young Men's Polish Association and golf league, coach of the Northside Little League, and a member of the GE Quarter Century Club.
He married Sadie Mack Sept. 4, 1948.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, James L. Brudsienski of Rotterdam; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Thursday at Leszczynski Funeral Home, Schenectady, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary's Church.
Burial was in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 828 Eastern Ave., Schenectady 12308; or Visiting Nurses of Schenectady, 107 Nott Terrace Suite 304, Schenectady 12308.

Ernest Janiszewski
March 14, 2000
Ernest J. Janiszewski, 69, of Sausse Avenue, Troy, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born in Schenectady.
He worked at the Watervliet Arsenal for 37 years before retiring 12 years ago.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Janiszewski was a member of the Polish American Veterans of Schenectady and the Watervliet Arsenal Bowling League.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Liss Janiszewski; three sons, Jeff Janiszewski of Schenectady, Timothy LaFortune of Castleton, and Eugene LaFortune of Troy; four daughters, Theresa C. Janiszewski of Schenectady, Kathy Rich of Amsterdam, Deborah Gerfin of Schenectady and Daniel LaFortune of Los Angeles; a brother, Edward Johnson of Schenectady; a sister, Lenora Flynn of Schenectady; and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral is 8:15 a.m. Friday at the William Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Adalbert Church in Schenectady.
Burial with full military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Barney
March 13, 2000
Dorothy Barney, 72, formerly of St. Johnsville, died Monday at Montgomery Meadows after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Salt Springville, the daughter of Stewart and Bertha Russ Dingman. She was educated in East Springfield.
Mrs. Barney was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.
She married Lawrence E. Barney July 1, 1967. He died Nov. 8, 1998.
Survivors include a step-son, John E. Barney of Fort Plain; two sisters, Marion Dingman of Fort Plain and Janis Bartholomew of Wells; a brother, Edward Dingman of Salt Springville; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was 10 a.m. today at Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating.
Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery in the spring.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department.

Jeanne McKeever
March 15, 2000
Jeanne Louise Elizabeth Commune McKeever, 83, of Rochester, died Wednesday after a long illness.
She was born Nov. 26, 1917, in Marseilles, France. She lived in Yonkers, Hartsdale and Amsterdam until 1997, when she moved to Rochester.
She married Charles McKeever in France after World War II.
Survivors include her husband, Charles McKeever; a daughter, Margaret Stewart; a son, Richard McKeever of Salt Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Epiphany, Rochester.
Inurnment will be in the columbarium.
A memorial service will be scheduled at the Episcopal Church Home, 505 Mount Hope Ave.,Rochester, for friends and staff members of River Edge Manor and the Episcopal Church Home at a time to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester 14620.
Arrangements are by the Leo M. Bean Funeral Home Inc., Rochester.

Mary Opalka
March 16, 2000
Mary R. Opalka, 98, formerly of Milton Avenue, Amsterdam, died Thursday evening at St. Mary's Hospital.
Arrangements by the Guzielek-Pomykaj Funeral Home, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam, are incomplete and will be announced.

Ellenmarie Armstrong
March 28, 2000
Ellenmarie Armstrong, 84, of Locust Avenue, Amsterdam, died Tuesday evening at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a long illness.
Arrangements by the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, are incomplete and will be announced.

Antonio Pagano
March 28, 2000
Antonio Pagano, 83, of FonClair Street, Johnstown, died Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after being stricken at home.
He was born in Graniti, Sicily, and moved to Johnstown in 1930.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was a partner in the Pagano Glove Co. on Church Street until retiring in 1971.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
He married Marion Dorn July 1, 1939.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Carmen Pagano of Macedon; a daughter, Marian Wilson of Johnstown; a brother, Joseph Pagano of Johnstown; a sister, Rose Garofalo of Gloversville; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
The funeral is 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, Main and Melcher streets, Johnstown, followed at 10 a.m. by a service at the Immaculate Conception Church.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Jeffrey Ragusa
March 28, 2000
Jeffrey R. Ragusa, 36, of Broadalbin, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a short illness.
He was born July 22, 1963, in Gloversville and attended Johnstown schools. He was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Ragusa was employed at the Nick DeLilli Construction Co. of Gloversville for many years.
Survivors include his father, Victor Ragusa of Broadalbin; his mother, Linda Currie Evans of Mayfield; a paternal grandmother, Victoria Ragusa of Broadalbin; a daughter, Caitlyn Fagan of Johnstown; a brother, Gavin Ragusa of Broadalbin; a sister, Amy Becker of Sterling, Va.; a niece, an aunt and an uncle.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday at the Kingsboro Assembly of God Church, 255 N. Kingsboro Ave., Gloversville.
Burial will be in Broadalbin Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville.

Albert Walkowicz
March 24, 2000
Albert Walkowicz, 83, of Dorwaldt Boulevard, Schenectady, died Friday at Ellis Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Amsterdam, the son of Thomas and Aniela Walkowicz. He was a Schenectady resident since 1951.
For 25 years, Mr. Walkowicz was a machinist at General Electric Co., retiring in 1978.
He married Helen Zelnio June 1, 1956.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five sisters, Carolyn Grezbien of Minaville, Jean Davies of South Carolina, Mary Foggia of Hagaman, Winifred Hoshlyk of Broadalbin, and Stacia Lewandowski of Perth; two brothers, Joseph Walkowicz of Scotia and Thomas Walkowicz of Ballston Lake; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Baxter-Andrew Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady.

Adolph Bubniak
March 27, 2000
Adolph A. Bubniak, 75, of the Mount Loretto Nursing Home, formerly of Opalka Road, Fort Johnson, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1924, in Amsterdam, the son of Frank and Antonia Szurek Bubniak. He attended school in Perth and was a lifelong area resident.
He owned and operated a dairy farm and was a newspaper carrier for The Recorder. He was also caretaker of St. John's Cemetery until retiring.
He was a communicant of the Church of St. John the Baptist and a member of the former St. Cecelia's Choir.
Survivors include his twin brother, John W. Bubniak of Amsterdam; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. John the Baptist or the American Diabetes Association.
