Jeffrey Bowne
May 3, 2000
Jeffrey Bowne, 55, of Main Street, Cobleskill, died Wednesday at Eden Park Health Care Center in Cobleskill.
He was born Nov. 24, 1944, in Cobleskill, the son of Norman and Marjorie Fake Bowne. He was a 1963 graduate or Cobleskill High School, attended Berkley School of Music in Boston, and the New Orleans Regional Institute for computer draftsmen.
He was a guitar instructor in Cobleskill, Nashville, and New Orleans.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his parents, of Warnerville; a sister, Judith Furman of Amsterdam; two nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church, East Main Street, Cobleskill, with the Rev. John Seltzer officiating.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice, 1 MacArthur Ave., Cobleskill 12043.
Arrangements are by the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home, 1 Chapel St., Cobleskill.

Charles Zajaceskowski
May 3, 2000
Charles M. Zajaceskowski, 69, of Matamoras, Pa., died Wednesday at Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis.
He was born March 22, 1931, in Schenectady, the son of Martin and Margaret Fisler Zajaceskowski. He lived in Matamoras for the past 32 years.
He was a supervisor for Contel Telephone Co. in Middletown.
Mr. Zajaceskowski was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Matamoras, Pa.
He was a member of Roosa-Fleming VFW Post 161, Port Jervis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Heckele Zajaceskowski; a son, David Zajaceskowski of Port Jervis; a daughter, Cynthia Zajaceskowski-Tucker of Middletown; his mother, Margaret Zajaceskowski of Broadalbin; two brothers, Robert Zajaceskowski of Gloversville and John Zajaceskowski of Mayfield; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Matamoras, Pa., with the Rev. John J. Turi officiating.
Burial is in Milford Cemetery, Milford, Pa.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Chester Campfield

A graveside service for Chester A. Campfield, who died Jan. 21, is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fort Johnson with the Rev. Victor Polito officiating.
Arrangements are by the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.

Lora Bowman

A graveside service for Lora Bowman, who died Nov. 5 in Iowa, is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, in Fort Plain Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Fort Plain Firemen's Home, Canal Street.

Hazel Miner
May 5, 2000
Hazel R. Miner, 86, of St. Hwy. 80, Fort Plain, died Friday at St. mary's Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Tunkhannock, Pa. on April 19, 1914, she was the daughter of Harry and Gertrude Spangenberg Gould. She attended schools in Pennsylvania and had lived in the Town of Minden for the past 45 years.
Mrs. Miner was a housewife. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Palatine Bridge.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Miner Sr., whom she married on Aug. 17, 1931. He died in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Joy Hopkinson of Fort Plain; two sons, Harry Miner of Palatine and Lawrence Miner Jr. of Fort Plain; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Gray-Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain with overseer John Lehman and Carolee Coye officiating. Burial will be in Freysbush Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-County Vol. Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 126, Canajoharie, 13317.

Alex Jablonski
May 7, 2000
Alex J. Jablonski, 81, of Route 30, town of Florida, died Sunday morning at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born March 27, 1919, in Fort Johnson, the son of Francis and Josephine Nitkiewicz Jablonski. He attended local schools and was a lifelong area resident.
During World War II, was a medic with the United States Army in the Normandy campaign. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He worked as a child for a family business delivering ice in the Amsterdam area. After the war, he worked for General Electric as a foreman for 10 years until starting his own business, Reasonable Home Improvement, retiring in 1985.
He was a 50-year member of John Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701, a member of the Goat Hill Hunting Club, and the Reid Hill and Minaville Fish & Game clubs.
Mr. Jablonski was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.
He married Wanda Clara Kowalski Jan. 27, 1948. She died Feb. 18, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Denis A. Jablonski of Las Vegas, Nev., and David M. Jablonski of Amsterdam; a daughter, Denise Quist of Amsterdam; a brother, Leo Jablonski of Glen; a sister, Edna Wierzchowski of Amsterdam; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Cornell Street, Amsterdam.
Burial is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Post 701 will meet at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.

Anna Green
May 6, 2000
Anna M. Green, 73, of Amsterdam, died Saturday at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady.
She was born in Middleburg, the daughter of Jock and Elizabeth Smiley. She was a lifelong area resident.
She was employed as an assembly worker and packer for Coleco and then for Amsterdam Printing.
She was a member of VFW Post 357, Schenectady, and was a past president of the ladies auxiliary. She was also a member of the American Legion Post of Schoharie and the West Glenville Grange.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Erwin P. Green; three sons, John Green of Schuylerville, David Green of Charlton, and Keith Green of Amsterdam; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services are Wednesday at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
Interment is in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Fernando Sanchez
May 6, 2000
Fernando Sanchez, 88, of 678 County Route 108, St. Johnsville, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica.
He was born May 30, 1911, in Hacienda, Penuelas, Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Camilo and Fransisca Delgado Sanchez. He was educated in Mexico and moved to the United States in 1926.
Upon arrival, he worked on the railroad laying track across the country. In 1929 he started working for the American Zinc Co. in Fairmont City, Ill, retiring in 1970 after working for 42 years.
After retirement, Mr. Sanchez worked part time for Glen Carbon Elevator for Toberman Grain Co. in Illinois.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church in Fairmont, Ill.
He was a member of the Local 82 of Miners, Millers and Smelters workers union of Illinois and the Mexican-American Club in Fairmont, Ill.
He married Rose Mary Salazar June 29, 1940.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Rachel Ann Jablonski of Oppenheim; Elizabeth Mary Setser of Hollandsville, Ill., and Guadalupe Thompson of Woodbridge, Va.; a brother, Carmen Sanchez of Mexico; two sisters, Catalina Alvardo and Guadalupe Medina, both of Mexico; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at the convenience of the family.
Interment is in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Arrangements are by the Smith-Woody & Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville.

Mary Saskowicz

A graveside service for Mary Saskowicz, who died Feb. 10, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Basil's Cemetery with the Rev. Marian Kostyk officiating.
Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., Broadalbin.

Roy Colverd
May 6, 2000
Roy R. Colverd, 71, of Johnstown, died Saturday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville following a long illness.
He was born July 10, 1928, in Kingston, Ontario, the son of Reginald and Florence Suddard Colverd.
He served on the board of several area kennel clubs, was active in breeding and exhibiting dogs, raised and trained miniature horses, and was a member of two national horse clubs.
He was employed by the C & R Railroad of Ottawa and then for Allied Chemical until retirement in 1986. After retirement, he worked summers for the state Racing Association and Gorman Bros. Construction of Albany.
Survivors include his companion of 28 years, Sharon Michael of Johnstown; three daughters, Jo-Anne Colverd of Syracuse, Donna Egnoto of Camillus, and Christine Swart of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son, Andrew Colverd of Yellville, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main St., Johnstown, with the Rev. W. Williams, Mountain Valley Hospice chaplain, officiating.
Cremation is at Vale Crematory in Schenectady.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Fred Wickwire
May 5, 2000
Fred "Louie" Wickwire, 64, of Cherry Valley, died Friday at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
He was born in Cooperstown and was a lifelong area resident.
He worked for the National Security Agency at Fort George Meade in Maryland and also was employed by the Agway Corp.
Mr. Wickwire was a Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7128 , the Thursday Night Golf League and the Cooperstown American Legion Post.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Margaret Eckler Wickwire; two daughters, Michelle R. Wickwire of Cherry Valley and Maureen L. Wickwire of Albany; a son, Mickey C. Wickwire of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Beverly McCaffery of Windsor and Carolanne "Bunny" Snyder of Cooper City, Fla.; a brother, Warren Wickwire of Gillette, Wyo.; and a granddaughter..
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Burial is in Cherry Valley Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Valley Emergency Squad, Middlefield First Responders, or the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are by the Ottman Funeral Home.
