Mrs. Elizabeth M. Wiltey, 77, formerly of Putman Avenue, Fonda, died early Tuesday morning at the Nathan Littauer Extended Care in Gloversville after a long illness.
Born on April 21, 1925 in Fonda, NY the daughter of Patsy and Margaret Horning Cassell, she was a lifelong Fonda resident and attended Fonda High School.
Mrs. Wiltey was a homemaker and was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda.
She was married on January 26, 1952 to Edward "Ike" Wiltey. He died on June 28, 1975.
Survivors include her 11 children, Mr. Terry Cassell of Texas, Karen Saunders of Gloversville, Jeanne Jackson of Fultonville, Robin Wemple of Fonda, Lori Avery of Fonda, Edward Wiltey Jr. of California, Donald Wiltey of Troy, John Wiltey of Fonda, Mary Gardner of Fort Hunter, Kelly TenEyck of Fonda, and Stacy Ashley of Fort Plain; 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, 26 Broadway, Fonda with the Rev. Patrick Gallagher OFM Conv. officiating. The burial will take place in the Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 17 West Fulton Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
Arrangements are by the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072.
Betty Ann Mabie
October 2, 2002
Betty Ann Mabie, 60, of Northern Blvd., Hagaman, NY died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at her home.
Born on May 3, 1942 in Little Falls, NY the daughter of Augustus and Anna Sadak Kietzmann, she was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Amsterdam High School.
Mrs. Mabie has been employed by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for the past 17 years.
She was an avid NASCAR Fan.
Mrs. Mabie was predeceased by her father and her two brothers, Howard and Alfred Kietzmann.
Survivors included two sons, Donald Mabie and his wife Beth of Hamilton, NY, and Kyle Mabie of Hagaman; a daughter, Lauren Mabie of Hagaman; her mother, Anna Kietzmann of Hagaman; a brother, Ernest Kietzmann of the Town of Florida; a grandson, Nathan Rose; a step grandson, Matthew Marshell; and her for legged kids, Panda, Meme, Nala and Prissy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Inc., 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev Bette Jo Stewart officiating.
The burial will take place in the VanVechten Cemetery, Pattersonville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the SPCA Animal Shelter, 1007 Route 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Alice M. Reid
October 2, 2002
Alice M. Reid 85, of Chapel Place, passed away Wednesday at the Edward L. Wilkinson RHCF following a brief illness.
Born in Weehawken, NJ on August 10, 1917 a daughter of Frank and Marie Jelinek Ricord, she was educated in New Jersey and moved to the Fort Plain area in 1945 upon her marriage.
She lived in Amsterdam for the past twelve years.
During World War II, Alice served with the US Navy with the rank of Pharmacist 2nd Class as an X-ray technician. She worked in the same capacity for Albany Medical Center. Following her retirement in 1973 she worked for several national survey companies.
A lifelong learner, Mrs. Reid graduated from Fulton Montgomery Community College at the age of 74, the oldest in her class. She was always involved in education and community service. She was an ombudsman for the Office for the Aging, and served as a mentor for the Learn & Serve Program at Centro Civico. In 2000 she was awarded the Senior Citizen Award for her service to the Montgomery County Office of the Aging by Governor Pataki in Albany.
A communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Fort Plain, she served on the Parish Council and the Rosary Society. Alice was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and more recently a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam. She also was a member of Club 60 of St. Mary's Hospital and the Sterling Care at Amsterdam Memorial, and the John J. Wyszomirski Post 701 and it's Auxiliary.
Her husband, James H. Reid preceded her in death in 1987.
Her loving family includes her sons, James H. Reid Jr. of Amsterdam, Thomas F. and his wife Wendy Reid of Silver Springs, MD, and Francis and his wife Ann Reid of Lancaster, PA; her daughters, Marie Ellen "Mimi" Reid of Glens Falls, Irene and her husband Norman Bollen of Amsterdam and Alison and her husband George Bowers of Columbia, SC; her seven grandchildren, Katie Reid, Med Freund, Kyle and Alison Bollen, Eric Hayward, Hope and Melissa Roth; and great granddaughter, Christina Beaulieu. Several cousins also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of the Resurrection which will be concelebrated Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Amsterdam. Father Lawrence J. Decker and Father Pascal A. Iannotti celebrating.
There are no calling hours and interment will take place later in the Fort Plain Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in Alice's name to the Friends of the Library, 28 Church Street or the John J. Wyszomirski Post 701, 123 West Main Street.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Avenue.
Beatrice Mae Hotaling

Mrs. Beatrice Mae Hotaling, 85, of Martin Street, Fort Plain died early Wednesday morning, October 2, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam after a short illness.
She was born in the Town of Roseboom, NY in Otsego County on February 10, 1917 to Emery and Ida Smith Baxter.
Mrs. Hotaling was educated at Cherry Valley Schools.
Mrs. Hotaling was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker.
She resided in Fort Plain since 1994. Previously she lived in Marshville, NY where she had lived since 1956.
She attended Marshville Evangelical Church.
Mrs. Hotaling enjoyed planting and caring for various kinds of houseplants.
She married Harry S. Hotaling Sr. on June 19, 1935 in Pleasant Brook, NY. He died December 23, 1989.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Parslow of Marshville, NY, Marlene M. Blair of Fort Plain, NY and Crystal A. Barnes of Fort Plain, NY; three sons, Harry S. Hotaling Jr. of Fort Plain, NY, Dannie G, Hotaling of Fort Plain, NY and David M. Hotaling, Fort Plain, NY; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with the Rev. Carl Hawer officiating.
Burial will be in South Valley-Pleasant Brook Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 4 at the funeral home.

Eileen F. White
October 2, 2002
Eileen F. White, 85 formerly of Youkers Bush Road, St. Johnsville, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the Palatine Nursing Home.
She was born January 29, 1917 in Canada, the daughter of the late Emmett and Lillian Pennell. Eileen was educated in Canada and lived in Vermont before moving to St. Johnsville.
Eileen was last employed as a seamstress for the former Corso Dress Factory in St. Johnsville.
Ms. White was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include her extended family, James and Ruth Smith of St. Johnsville, and their children, Keith Smith and wife Pat, Carol Warn and husband Gary, Gail Kane and husband Kevin, and Roger Smith and friend MaryLou.
She was predeceased by her companion of 50 years, Henry F. Smith who died on April 7, 2002.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville, NY with Reverend Michael Yezierski, pastor of the St. Johnsville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at West St. Johnsville Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.

Anthony D. Dilello
October 3, 2002
Anthony D. Dilello, age 75, of Johnstown, NY, died Thursday, October 3, 2002 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was born December 27, 1926 in Amsterdam, the son of Sylvester and Lucy Guillily Dilello. He was a 1942 graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School, Amsterdam, and lived in Broadalbin for most of his life. He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Dilello was employed by KeyMark Corporation of Fonda for 20 years, retiring as Transportation Manager in 1995. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin, and recently attended the Reformed Church of Johnstown.
He was married June 20, 1998 to Edith Ridley who survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Kelly Churchill, Bethel, ME; stepson, Kenneth Simonds, Terryville, CT; stepdaughters, Michele Wozniak, North Miami, FL and Cindy Perkins, Clinton, TN; sisters, Agnes Sala, Amsterdam and Ann Ingalls, Pico Rivera, CA; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Dilello and Lewis Dilello and a sister, Antoinette Wills.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Inc., Gloversville, with the Rev. Jack Millard, officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
