Mrs. Edna Lyons Stoutner, 79, of West Eighth Avenue, Gloversville, died Monday at home after a long illness.
Born in Middle Grove, Mrs. Stoutner was educated in Galway and later moved to Gloversville where she resided most of her life.
At one time, she was a press operator for the former Decca Records.
Mrs. Stoutner was of the Methodist faith.
Her husband, Raymond Stoutner, died in 1960.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Stoutner of Mayfield and Raymond Stoutner of Gloversville; four daughters, Patricia Santo and Joan Green, both of Broadalbin, Geraldine Kadle of Gloversville, and Carol Bornt of Mayfield; a sister, Lillian Reeves of Amsterdam; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Cremation will be in Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club of Fulton County or the American Diabetes Association.
Joseph Leotta
November 4, 1996
Joseph Leotta, 87, formerly of Johnstown, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse after a short illness.
Born in Graniti, Sicily, Mr. Leotta came to this country in 1920.
Mr. Leotta served in the National Guard during the late 1920s and 1930s.
He was a glove cutter for the Grandoe Glove Company in Gloversville for many years before retiring in 1974. He moved to Syracuse in 1994.
Mr. Leotta was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
He was the leader of the Jack Lanne Orchestra that played throughout the Capital Region during the 1930s.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Licciardi Leotta, whom he married June 10, 1934; two daughters, Carmelia Tyler of Pittsfield and Catherine Gage of Jamesville; a son, Joseph V. Leotta of Burke, Va.; a brother, Charles Leotta of Flemmington, N.J.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, Main and Melcher streets, and at 9:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Church, 4845 Salina St., Syracuse, 13205.
Joyce Laramy
November 5, 1996
Joyce M. Laramy, 72, of Upper Prospect Street, Fonda, died Tuesday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.
Born in Loone Lake, June 4, 1922, she was the daughter of Ernest and Ethel LaJeunesse Laramy.
She came to the Fonda area in the early 40s from Tupper Lake, and was a graduate of the Fonda-Fultonville schools. She also studied music locally. She worked for the former New York Central Railroad in the freight department and later for Amtrak where she was a ticket agent at the Amsterdam station, retiring in the early 1980s.
Mrs. Laramy was a member of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, and its Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley M. DeGraff and Judith M. Laramy both of Fonda; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will take place at a later date at the Holy Name Cemetery in Tupper Lake.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Amsterdam 40 Guy Park Ave., or to the Frothingham Free Library, Main Street, Fonda.
Arrangements are by the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville.
Katherine Goderie
November 5, 1996
Katherine Goderie, 92, of West Gibson Street, Canadaigua, formerly of Amsterdam, died Tuesday at Thompson Continuing Care Center, Canandaigua, where she was a patient since January.
Born in Ranirzov, Austria, on Feb. 19, 1904, she was the daughter of Yakob and Christine Hartfinger Fuhrman. Mrs. Goderie came to Amsterdam as a young woman.
For more than 20 years, she was a food service worker for Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1971.
Mrs. Goderie lived in Amsterdam until moving to Canandaigua in 1986.
She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Amsterdam.
Her husband, Carnelius P. Goderie Sr., died in 1949.
Survivors include a son, C. Peter Goderie of Hagaman; a daughter, June Christine Hohs of Canandaigua; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Betz Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam with the Rev. Rovert E. Doxey officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner of Pine and Division streets, Amsterdam.
Julie See
November 6, 1996
Mrs. Julie K. Walker See, 91, of Glen Wild Road, Providence, died Wednesday at Maple Wood Manor Nursing Home, Ballston Spa.
Born in Winfield, Mrs. See was head of the education department for Charles Scribner Publishing Co. in New York City, and a 30-year associate member of the Sisters of St. Mary's of Peekskill. She retired to Providence many years ago.
Mrs. See was a member of Burnt Hills Episcopal Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, Sacandaga Road, Route 147, Galway. Burial will be in Barkersville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Nemosene Dalton
November 5, 1996
Mrs. Nemosene Hillman Dalton, 88, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Hagaman and Amsterdam, died Tuesday at Columbia-St. Petersburg General Hospital.
Born Jan. 22, 1908 in Hagaman, she was the daughter of Charles S. and Jane Coyle Hillman. Mrs. Dalton attended local schools and lived in the Amsterdam area until moving to Florida in 1972. She was a secretary for 40 years at Colette Manufacturing Co. in Amsterdam, retiring in 1971.
Mrs. Dalton was a former member of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman and St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam.
She married Frederick A. Dalton Jr. on Jan. 5, 1935.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Judith Weaver of Greensboro, N.C., and Daneen Graff of Beverly Hills, Fla.; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hagaman Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Matulewicz officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.
Myron "Bub" Gardner
November 6, 1996
Myron J. Gardner, 65, of Church Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday morning at home following a long illness.
Born Jan. 12, 1931 in Amsterdam, he was a son of the late John and Frances Browskie Gardner. He was a graduate of the Amsterdam Industrial High School and was a lifelong resident. He was self-employed and operated Gardner Roofing until illness forced his retirement in 1985.
Mr. Gardner served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Gardner was of the Catholic faith.
He married the former Jennie M. Surmanek on June 13, 1953.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Haldeman of Amsterdam; a son, Shane J. Gardner of Amsterdam; a brother, Richard Browskie of Amsterdam; two sisters, Frances Anelli and Edna De Angelo, both of Amsterdam; and aunts, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Harold Wilson
November 7, 1996
Former Broadalbin resident Harold W. Wilson, 87, died Thursday evening at the Vermont Veterans Hospital in Bennington, where he had been a resident since 1988.
Born March 8, 1909 in Gloversville, he was the son of Howard and Ellen Sweet Wilson. He attended Gloversville schools and was a lifelong area resident until moving to New Smyrna, Fla. for 10 years.
Mr. Wilson was employed as a fur cutter and later as a glove cutter, retiring several years ago from the Superb Glove Co. in Johnstown. He was also a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Wilson was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, obtaining the rank of staff sergeant.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post 337 in Broadalbin.
Survivors include his son, Robert F. Wilson of Gloversville, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Cremation will be at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 38 W. Main St., Broadalbin.
Jane Hepinstall
November 5, 1996
Jane N. Hepinstall, 80, of Albany died Tuesday at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
She was born in Amsterdam and lived in Albany most of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and a former member of its Ladies Guild and senior citizens. She was also a member of AARP Chapter 78.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Dr. James T. Hepinstall, and a son, James T. Hepinstall Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Flanigan of Delmar and Katherine and JoAnna Hepinstall, both of the Albany area; a sister, Bridget Bubniak of Amsterdam; five grandchildren and several nephews.
The funeral is today at 9:15 a.m. at the Hearley & Son Funeral Home, 1561 Western Ave., Albany, and 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
