Born in Amsterdam, New York on Aug. 12, 1930
At Rest Oct. 15, 2008 and resided in Amsterdam, NY.

Jane C. Rusnica, 78, of Francisco Lane, passed away Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving daughters at her side.
Born in Amsterdam on August 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Clara Napoli Francisco.A lifelong resident, she was a 1948 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Jane worked for a time at Mohasco and Montco and later for ten years as an administrative assistant for the Montgomery County Department Of Social Services, retiring in 1996. An avid Yankees fan, she loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the CSEA and a parishioner of St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church. It was there that on June 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Louis Rusnica. He predeceased her on Nov. 16, 1996.
Her loving family includes her daughters; Sandra (Steven) Rogozinski of River Vale N.J., and Susan (John) Korchinsky of Amsterdam; grandsons; Matthew and his wife Kerry Andolina Korchinsky and Michael J. Rogozinski; her sister, Yolanda Francisco of Amsterdam as well as many close cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services are Friday at 10:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:15 am at St. Michael The Archangel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery. calling hours are today from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam or to GAVAC both in care of the funeral home office.

Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.

Clara R. Druziak
Born in Amsterdam, New York on Apr. 6, 1914

Clara R. Druziak, 94, formerly of Midline Rd., Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday October 8, 2008 at the E. L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in the Town of Amsterdam.
Born on April 6, 1914 a daughter of Michael and Katherine Vanoski Kavanaugh. She was a lifelong Amsterdam area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Druziak was a homemaker for most of her life. For over 25 years she worked in various New York State Thruway Stop Restaurants.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and was a member of the Manny Corners Community Club, the Hagaman Seniors and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling and traveling.
She married Paul A. Druziak on November 28, 1934. He passed away April 2, 1971.
Survivor's include, One son, Dennis M. Druziak and his wife Laurie of Amsterdam. Two daughters, Arlene C. Madej and her husband Ted of Hagaman, NY and Joan Bez and her husband Edward of Amsterdam, NY. Eight Grandchildren, Richard (Laurie) Madej, Susan (Tom) Ressel, Thomas (Pam) Madej, Robert Bez, Brian (Lisa) Bez and David Bez, Jennifer Young and Douglas Druziak. Twelve great-grandchildren, Heather Staats, Bret Madej, Ryan Madej, Morgan Bez, Justin Bez, Jessica Bez, Christina Bez, Sara Ressel, Erica Ressel, Karleigh Madej, Andrew Madej and Dayanna Young. One great –great grandson, Dylan Staats. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a daughter Paula Claire Druziak, a great-grandson Seth Madej, brothers and sisters, Bernard Kavanaugh, James Kavanaugh and Mary White.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday( this evening ) October 10, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 33 Everett Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 328, Hagaman, NY 12086.

Josephine Giovanni

Josephine Giovanni, 89, of Hillcrest Spring Adult Home, formerly of 26 Summit Avenue, passed away Thursday October 9, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with her children by her side.

She was born in Fonda, NY on May 23, 1919 a daughter of the late Antonio and Theresa Campagnano Riccio. Mrs. Giovanni was a life resident of the area and was educated in the Amsterdam city schools. Following high school, she worked at Sanford's in Amsterdam in the morning and as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Carbonelli in the afternoons.

Mrs. Giovanni married Felix M. Giovanni on October 4, 1941. Following her marriage, she worked as a Real Estate Salesperson at the Adirondack Agency, which Felix owned and operated. The couple resided in Amsterdam during their entire marriage of over 38 years, until Felix predeceased her on July 11, 1978.

Mrs. Giovanni was of Roman Catholic faith and was a parishioner of the former St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church as well as having been a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph's Church. She was most recently a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam, where she previously enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of several prayer groups in the area.

Her loving family includes one daughter, Patricia A. Decker of Queensbury, NY, one son, John A. Giovanni and his wife Susan A. Giovanni of Cape Coral, Fl., one brother, Carmen Riccio and his wife, Jennie of Amsterdam, NY, one sister, Mary Cercone of Hanover, MA, five grandchildren, Edward N. Decker and his wife, Dr. Christine Alexander-Decker of Saratoga Springs, NY, John M. Decker of Queensbury, NY, David A. Decker of Mechanicville, NY, Ann C. Giovanni of New York City, and Michael F. Giovanni of Morristown, NJ, two great-grandchildren, Hannah C. Decker and Sarah E. Decker both of Saratoga Springs, and a close friend, Charlie Wight of Wells, NY. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was pre-deceased by three brothers, Samuel Riccio, James Riccio and Anthony Riccio, a sister, Filomena Lombardo, and her dear friend, Fred Sandy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 11, 2008 at 10:15AM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:15 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John St., Amsterdam with Fr. Lawrence J. Decker as celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends this evening (Friday, October 10th) from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY, 12010.

Lester "Dutch" W. Andrews, Sr.
Born in Fonda, New York on Sep. 24, 1924
At Rest Oct. 10, 2008 and resided in Utica, NY.

Lester W. (Dutch) Andrews, Sr., 84, formerly of Fonda, NY, passed away at the Loretto Utica Center & Nursing home in Utica after being a resident for two and one half years.

Born September 24, 1924 in Fonda, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence P. and Bertha Young Andrews. He attended schools in Fonda where he lived most of his life.

Dutch was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII where he served with the 238 AAF Base Unit in the Pacific with the Military Police and Dutch was one of the military policeman who guarded the atomic bomb which was used on Hirochemia, Japan.

He was first employed by Fonda Manufacturing Company as a Machinist and after worked for Coleco industries in Amsterdam. He was last employed at the Brown Transportation where he drove school bus.

Dutch was an avid collector of John Wayne paraphernalia, loved recording old movies and playing poker.

On May 10, 1975, he married the former Jean M. Miller.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Lester W. Andrews Jr. of Meco, NY, David Andrews of Albany, NY, DeWayne (Stephanie) Andrews of Gloversville and Robert Andrews (Wendy Jacquard) of Fonda; three daughters, Linda Frye of Northville, NY, Leslie Montenaro of Hagaman, NY and Tina (Jim) England of Fonda, NY; four brothers, Robert Andrews of Syracuse, NY, James Andrews of Albany, NY, John Andrews of Lyons, NY and Harry Andrews of Gloversville; one sister, Florence Banovic of Utica, NY; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dutch was predeceased by a son Christopher M. Andrews and three sisters, Olive Dawes, Pat Martin and Nora Way.

A Candle Legacy Ceremony will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda with full Military Honors. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dutch's memory to the Loretta Utica & Nursing Home, 1445 Kemble Street, Utica, NY 13501 or to G.A.V.A.C., P.O. Box Box 11, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
