Betty Lou Love Cook, 65, of Lusso Road, past away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2008 at home with her loving family by her side. She was very determined and courageous women whom battled Breast Cancer for two and a half years.
Betty's family whom was tragically lost by fire included her parents and four other siblings' names unknown. She was born August 4, 1943 and was the daughter of her adopted parents the late Alexander and Elsie Love. She was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam.
She was employed at The Leader Herald at the time of her diagnosis and was formerly employed at Liberty Enterprises and the Fonda- Fultonville Central School.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and camping. She also enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, baking, flea markets and garage sales.
On June 30, 1962, Betty married Gerald (Bub) Cook, together they raised their four children, two sons Jeffrey D. Cook of Fultonville and David A. Cook (Patti) of Fultonville; two daughters Terri Cook of Fultonville and Kathleen M. Robinson who passed away September 24, 1999, son-in-law Bill Robinson; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Savannah, Lynan, Billy, Gerry, Matthew and Cassandra; a sister Margaret Daley; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Betty was also predeceased by a brother Paul Daley.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside service to be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 1:00 PM at the Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or the Avon Foundation Walk for Breast Cancer, 1345 Avenue of the Americas' NY, NY 10105.

Mr. Wayne A. Passero, age 51 of Cohoes, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
He was born September 10, 1957 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Richard and Sylvia Bates Passero. He was employed by Arrow Leather Corp. of Johnstown until he became disabled.
Wayne is survived by two children: Dawn Mellis-Passero of Scotia and Christopher M. Bishop of Mayfield; nine brothers and sisters: Sherry Cagwin of NC; Richard Passero of Johnstown, Dixie Davis of Broadalbin, John Passero of Fort Hunter, Crystal King of Johnstown, Tina Brownell of Mayfield, Garth Passero of Mayfield, Daniel Passero of Saratoga County and Becky Schultz of Mayfield; 3 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Robert R. "Bob" Faboskay Jr., 52, of Bellen Road, passed away Tuesday morning.
Born in Niskayuna, NY on January 14th, 1956, he was the son of Robert R. Sr. and Patricia McGowan Faboskay. A self employed contractor, he worked in various positions in the locale.
Bob was of the Protestant faith. An avid outdoorsman, he was a dedicated family man who loved music, especially his guitar and was very handy, helping anyone who needed him.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Lewis Faboskay whom he married on April 21, 2001;
His mother; Patricia Seelow of Broadalbin; children; Autumn (Jim) Luft of Gloversville and Robert , Patricia and Courtney Faboskay both of Florida;
Brothers; Mark , Michael, and Russell Faboskay all of Amsterdam; Richard and Eric Faboskay of Broadalbin; sisters; Debra Drake of Gloversville, Dawn O'Connor of Ephratah, Michelle Jennings and Bobbi Jo Brooks of Broadalbin; step children; James Baker Jr., Robert, Rebecca and Stefani Baker; five grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside committal service will take place on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Chuctanunda Cemetery, Minaville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 11:30 to 1:30 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.

Patricia A. Sheldon, 65, passed away Monday with her family by her side after a brief illness in Syracuse, NY. Born January 3, 1943 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Irene Fuss Burza and the late Zygmunt Burza. She moved to Syracuse in 1963.
Patricia was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute and the Albany Business College.
Patricia was employed for Agway and the Gerharz Equipment Company in Syracuse in accounting.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, summers at camp in Lake Ontario and visiting her granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Sheldon; a son Louis P. Wassel Jr. of Washington, DC.; a daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Edwards and their children Madison and Kennedy Edwards all of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Fuss Burza; her sister, Barbara Conrad; and two nieces Julie (Christopher) Fenton and Jaime (Robert) Morin and their children, Avery Fenton, Shelby Fenton and Jake Morin all of Amsterdam; two uncles Max Litwa and Stanley Burza of Amsterdam; one aunt Frances Wedrychowicz of Hagaman and cousins.
Patricia was predeceased by a sister Nancy Burza.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday 8:30 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Funeral Mass to be held at 9:30 AM at The Church of St. John the Baptist, 40 Van Derveer Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. David W. Mickiewicz as celebrant. Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Sophie T. Lewek, 91 years old, formerly of Chopin Parkway, died Sunday at Ellis Hospital. Mrs. Lewek was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and was a life long resident of the Amsterdam area. She had been employed as a weaver for the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills for many years. Mrs. Lewek was a Communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She loved the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
In July of 1935 she married Max S. Lewek who died in 1981. Mrs. Lewek is survived by her son: David Lewek and his wife Kathy of Scotia, N.Y. and her daughter: Maxine Le May of Reston, VA., four grandchildren: Emily and Alexander Lewek, Michele Wilber and David Le May, and three great grandchildren: triplets Joshua, Nicholas and Elizabeth Le May.
Funeral services will be held 8:45am Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, followed at 9:30am by a Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
