Robert Bulson
January 14, 1997
Robert J. Bulson Jr., 50, of Carpenter Road, Johnsonville, died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a truck accident.
Born in Troy, Mr. Bulson attended Tamarac High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
At his death, he was a truck driver for the P.T. Petro Corp. of Rensselaer.
Prior to that, Mr. Bulson worked for the Fort Edward Express at the Port of Albany for 19 years.
Mr. Bulson was a member of the United Service Workers of America, Local 355.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hewitt Bulson; two sons, Robert J. Bulson III of Johnsonville and John J. Bulson of Cohoes; a daughter, Kandi Lynn Bulson of Johnsonville; two brothers, Chris J. Bulson of Rome and Kurt F. Bulson of Troy; and a grandson.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy.
Burial will be in Bulson Family Cemetery in Brunswick.
Calling hours are from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. George's Church, 134 Factory Hollow Road, Valley Falls, 12185.

Robert Voigt
January 15, 1997
Robert C. Voigt, 90, formerly of West Main Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday morning at the Montgomery Meadows Residential Health Care Facility, where he had been a resident for the past year.
Born Sept. 29, 1906 in New York City, he was the son of Fred and Elizabeth Costello Voigt. He had been a resident of Amsterdam since 1911.
Mr. Voigt was a member of Company G of the New York State National Guard for eight years. He was employed as a milk delivery salesman by the former Nadler Brothers Dairy in Amsterdam, retiring in 1970.
He was a member of the Port Jackson Senior Citizens.
Mr. Voigt was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Amsterdam.
He married the former Virginia Daye on Oct. 26, 1929.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Richard G. Voigt and Robert T. Voigt, both of Amsterdam; a brother, Frederick Voigt of Lyons, Oregon; three sisters, Alice Koehler, Minna Brundige and Frances Zabava, all of Amsterdam; five grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Betz Funeral Home, Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Cremation at Parkview Crematory will be followed by inurnment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps in care of the funeral home.

Emma Mallia
January 15, 1997
Mrs. Emma Perkins Mallia, 88, of Romeyn Avenue, Amsterdam, died Wednesday morning at her home after a long illness.
Born July 27, 1908 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of William and Mary Perkins, and was a lifelong resident.
She was employed as a secretary by the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for several years, retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Mallia served as a volunteer at the Walter Elwood Museum.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
She married Harold J. Mallia on Aug. 27, 1928. He died Oct. 26, 1979.
Survivors include a son, John J. Mallia of New York City; a daughter, Mary Samms of Sandy Spring, Md.; a sister, Harriet McCaffrey of Rhode Island; and three grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. The interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Johnson.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.

John Chetwynd
January 13, 1997
John M. Chetwynd, 82, of Route 101, Meco, died Monday at home after a long illness.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Chetwynd worked for New York Central Railroad, the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, and the former Travis & Osko Co. in Johnstown. He retired in 1979 after 35 years as a leather finisher for the Wood & Hyde Leather Co. in Gloversville.
At one time, he served with the National Guard in Gloversville.
He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and former leader of the Sir William Johnson Council; member of the Order of the Arrow; and assistant district Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Chetwynd was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Gloversville, where he was a founder of The Gathering.
He also was a charter member of the San Souci Scooters and a CB radio operator who used the handle, "Grandpa Chet." He also was affiliated with the Gloversville Little League.
He married Dorothy Argersinger Chetwynd, on Aug. 9, 1935.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Gerald Chetwynd of Melbourne, Fla.; a daughter, Carol Coon of Meco; a sister, Violet Peterson of Saratoga; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Order of the Burial of the Dead and Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 31 Spring St., Gloversville.
Spring burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church's The Gathering or Mountain Valley Hospice.
Arrangements are by Amico Funeral Home, Gloversville.

Robert Renus
January 14, 1997
Robert R. Renus Sr., 60, of Marion Boulevard, Scotia, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a long illness.
Born in Amsterdam, Mr. Renus lived in Schenectady before moving to Scotia 40 years ago.
He was a night manager for Price Chopper supermarket for 38 years, retiring in 1989.
Mr. Renus was a member, former chief and commissioner of the Beukendaal Fire Department for more than 25 years. He was also a former volunteer member of the Schenectady County Sheriff's Association.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
He married Jennie Giardona Renus in 1957.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Robert R. Renus Jr. of Mayfield and Ronald R. Renus of Scotia; a daughter, Deborah Jean Davin of Schenectady; two brothers, Richard Renus of Glenville and Charles Renus of Rotterdam; two sisters, Marion Olsen of Niskayuna and Diane Phal of Rotterdam and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Avenue, and at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Calling hours will be conducted after 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Beukendaal Volunteer Fire Department, Sacandaga Road, Scotia, 12302.

Jean Gabryluk
January 16, 1997
Jean Gabryluk, 65, of Catherine Street, Amsterdam, died early this morning at the home of her daughter in Hagaman after a long illness.
Born March 17, 1931 in New York City, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna Horwat Gabryluk.
She moved to Amsterdam as a child with her family and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Ms. Gabryluk was employed as a secretary for General Electric in Schenectady many years ago, and later in the same capacity for the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia, the late Dr. Sok Ko and more recently, for Dr. Randy McGowan, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amsterdam.
Ms. Gabryluk is survived by a daughter, Kim Ryba of Hagaman; three sons, Terry Vertucci of Amsterdam, Jeffrey Vertucci of Bowie, Md., and Richard Vertucci of Fort Hunter; a sister, Mary Denny of Amsterdam; 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, with Pastor Thomas Mithen officiating. Interment is in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or to Hospice of Amsterdam.

Ida Barker
January 16, 1997
Ida M. Barker, 92, died Thursday at Fulton County Infirmary in Gloversville, whe she resided since October of 1990.
Born Feb. 10, 1904 in Benson, she was the daughter of Frank and Jennie Orcutt Manzer. She resided in Gloversville since the age of 18 and graduated from Gloversville High School and Gloversville Business School.
Mrs. Barker was employed as an office manager with the former Scotsmoor Company in Johnstown from 1932 to 1965.
She attended Emmanueal Baptist Church in Goversville.
She married Donald S. Barker in 1926. He died in 1929.
Mrs. Barker is survived by a daughter, Beverly B. Caputo of Gloversville; two grandchildren and one nephew.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Walrath & Bushouer Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Peter R. Ellis officiating. Spring burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Capital District Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany 12206-2083.

Sophia Alexander
January 16, 1997
Sophia Frances Alexander, 89, of Greene Street, Amsterdam, died Thursday at her home.
Mrs. Alexander was born Nov. 30, 1907 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Joseph and Laura Andrus. She attended Amsterdam Schools and was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam. Mrs. Alexander had been employed by the former Empire Devices and then by Ward Products many years ago.
She had been a communicant of the former St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.
She married Peter E. Alexander on July 1, 1942. He died Jan. 24, 1994.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Aldi of Amsterdam; Barbara Smalley of Saratoga Springs; and Susan Farina of Syracuse; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Johnson-Lindsay Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Jerome Muszynski
January 17, 1997
Jerome Muszynski, 85, of 123 Elizabeth Street, Tribes Hill, died this morning at St. Mary's Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Amsterdam on Jan. 27, 1911, he was the son of John and Lillian Trzaskos Muszynski and lived in Amsterdam until 1932 before moving to Tribes Hill.
Mr. Muszynski was employed by the General Electric Company in Schenectady as a stock handler until retiring in 1971.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Airforce attached to the 135th Squadron 5th Airforce doing duty in the South Pacific in the New Guinea Area.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
Mrs. Muszynski is survived by his wife, Edith Jeannette Smith Muszynski, whom he married Jan. 3, 1948, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family on Saturday morning at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church St., with the Rev. Edward Sipperly officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
