Jerone Morgan, 69, of Houseman Street, Northville, died Wednesday at his home after a long illness.
Born in New York City, Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Pearl River High School. He attended Rockland County Community College. He moved to Northville in 1972.
Mr. Morgan was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed as the supervisor of the maintenance department for Ciba-Geigy in Rockland County. He later owned and operated the Edinburg General Store, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Morgan was a life member and past commander of the Naurashank American Legion Post 794 in Nanuet. He was the past institutional representative of the Boy Scouts in Nanuet.
He married Jane Dailey Morgan on Oct. 4, 1947.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Robert Morgan of Edinburg; two daughters, Gayle Stiffey and Barbara Morgan, both of Edinburg; two brothers, George Morgan of Nanuet and Warren Morgan of West Nyack; a sister, Gloria Liptak of Montpelier, Vt.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St. Spring burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 55, in care of the Northville Methodist Church, P.O. Box 476, Northville, 12134.
Leona Preston
February 18, 1997
Mrs. Leona M. Preston, 92, of Johnstown, died Tuesday at the Fulton County Infirmary following a long illness.
Born in South Colton, Mrs. Preston attended schools in Parishville. She moved to the Johnstown area in 1928.
Mrs. Preston was employed as a nurse's aide for several years before retiring in 1967 from the former VanLone Nursing Home.
She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church and was active in its Women of the Kitchen group for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Preston is survived by four sons, Darrell Preston of Phoenix, Az., Theodore Preston of Gloversville, Keith Preston of Oneonta and Ronald Preston of Johnstown; two sisters, Alice Rodwell and Maefred McCarthy, both of Colton; a brother, Gerald Hutchison of Rochester; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Infirmary Auxiliary.
John "Jack" Hulsaver
February 18, 1997
John R. Hulsaver, 56, of FonClair Street, Johnstown, died Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, after being stricken.
Born in Johnstown, Mr. Hulsaver attended schools in Oppenheim. He was the owner and operator of Jack's Auto Body in Ephratah at the time of his death. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Hulsaver of Sylvania, Ala.; five daughters, Linda Brooker of Johnstown, Kathy Passino of Englewood, Fla., Diane Hulsaver of Mayfield, Colleen Wheeler of Gloversville and Holly Hulsaver of Cleveland, Tenn.; four sons, John Hulsaver of Ooltewah, Tenn., James and Ronald of New Port Richie, Fla., and Edward Hulsaver of Johnstown; three step-children, James Davis of Sylvania, Ala., Darrell Davis of Gloversville and Dereda Davis of Oldsmar, Fla.; a brother, James Hulsaver of Saratoga Springs; three sisters, Barbara Pugliese of Little Falls and Cheryl Harwood and Melissa Newton, both of Oceanside, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown. Spring burial will take place in Rockwood Cemetery in Ephratah.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Gladys Waldron
February 18, 1997
Mrs. Gladys Waldron, 75, of Middleburgh, formerly of Greenville and Westerlo, died Tuesday at Robinson Terrace in Stamford.
Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Waldron and her husband operated the Blue Churn Country Store in South Westerlo from 1961 to 1991.
Mrs. Waldron was a member of the Freehold Literary Club for more than 50 years.
She was a member of the Freehold Congregational Christian Church.
Her first husband, Howard Adriance, died in 1985.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Waldron; a son, Howard Adriance Jr. off Wells, Maine; two daughters, Nancy Wais of Ravena and Sally Reed of Clarence; two stepchildren; Carole Bates of Medusa and John Waldron of Middleburgh; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.
Lawrence St. John
February 19, 1997
Lawrence J. St. John, (SanGiovanni) 82, of Saratoga Road, Glenville, died Wednesday at the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia, after a long illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. St. John was a graduate of the old Schenectady High School, Class of 1932.
From the early 1940s until its closing, he was a foreman at the former American Locomotive Co.
After that, Mr. St. John was a foreman in General Electric's Steam Turbine Division, retiring in 1985.
He lived in Schenectady until moving to Glenville in 1960.
Mr. St. John later moved to Clifton Park, returning to Glenville in 1986.
He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Schenectady.
He married Cora E. Coppola St. John, on Aug. 24, 1940.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Lawrence St. John Jr. of Olivebridge; a daughter, Claudia K. St. John of Delanson; two sisters, Mollie Sabatini and Edith DeCesare, both of Schenectady; two brothers, Joseph St. John of Tampa, Fla., and Victor St. John of Schenectady.
Cremation will take place at the Vale Crematory with burial at a later date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Pultneyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Capital District Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, 12206.
Arrangements are by the N. Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, Schenectady.
Anthony Kindl
February 19, 1997
Anthony R. Kindl, 92, formerly of Mannys Corners Road, Amsterdam, died Wednesday evening at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past 1 1/2 years.
Born May 2, 1904 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Ignacious and Frances Habla Kindl and was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed as an electrical engineer by the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring in 1967.
Mr. Kindl was a ham radio operator, and had the first crystal radio in Amsterdam.
He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church of Hagaman.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane F. Izzano in 1993.
He was first married in 1927 to Emma B. Jalette. She died in 1972. In 1973, he was married to Beatrice C. Jalette. She survives.
Mr. Kindl is also survived by three sons, Robert J. Kindl of Hadley, Richard E. Kindl of Clifton Park, and William G. Kindl of Osburn, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. The interment will be in Hagaman Cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps or St. Stephen's Church in care of the funeral home.
Alfred Geesler
February 15, 1997
Alfred J. Geesler, 85, of 2033 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin, Fla., formerly of Amsterdam, died Saturday morning at the Mease Hospital in Dunedin after a long illness.
Born Jan. 6, 1912, in Fort Johnson, he was the son of Theron and Louise Minch Geesler. He resided in Amsterdam until 1969, when he moved to Dunedin.
He was the owner and operator of Geesler's Jewelers in Amsterdam and Dunedin, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Geesler was a member of the former Emmanual Presbyterian Church of Amsterdam.
He married he former Pearl Hughes on Oct. 19, 1935.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Robert W. Geesler of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; a sister, Wavel E. Green of Fort Johnson; and two granddaughters.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family in the spring. The interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.
Margaret Jameson
February 19, 1997
Margaret Jameson, 87, of 139 Woods Hollow Road, Gloversville, died Wednesday at the Fulton County Infirmary after a long illness.
Born June 29, 1909 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of Frank and Harriet Goodemote Allen.
She resided in Schenectady until 1962 and Sarasota, Fla., until April of 1996, when she moved to Mayfield and then to Johnstown.
Mrs. Jameson attended Knot Terrace School in Schenectady and the Ellis School of Nursing Class of 1930, where she earned her registered nursing degree. She was employed as a registered nurse with the American Red Cross in Schenectady. She retired in 1973.
Mrs. Jameson was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Schenectady.
She married Carlton G. Jameson on June 14, 1930.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Gary O. Jameson of Saratoga Springs; two daughters, Nancy France of Gloversville, and Terry Ayala of Sarasota, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Church of Christ, Route 67, Johnstown, at 11 a.m. Saturday. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady.
Arrangements are by Jeffords Chapel, Broadalbin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, 12078.
Mary Hutchison
February 20, 1997
Miss Mary Hutchison, 89, of the Sarah Jane Sanford Home, Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, died Thursday afternoon at the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
Born Jan. 30, 1908 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of John and Mary Anderson Hutchison and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of the Ellis Gurney School of Floral Design in Boston.
Miss Hutchison was a florist and a former co-owner with her sister of Mary & Belle's Floral Shop in Amsterdam. She retired in 1970.
She was a member of Art-Wel Chapter No. 208, Order of the Eastern Star in Amsterdam. Miss Hutchison was a communicant of the United Presbyterian Church of Amsterdam.
Survivors include two nephews, Thomas Burrell Jr. of Falls Church, Va.; and Hugh Hutchison of Amsterdam; six nieces, Phyllis Parry of Tribes Hill, Barbara Campbell of New London, N.H.; Catherine Boswell of Amsterdam; Mary Brooker of Broadalbin; and Alma Mary Phillips of Pattersonville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, with the Rev. Dan J. Wheeler officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or the United Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
Richard Schotter
February 21, 1997
Richard D. Schotter, 79, of Moyer Street, Canajoharie, died Friday at his home after a short illness.
He was born Sept. 12, 1917 in Amsterdam, the son of Alfred E. Schotter and Linna Kilsch.
Mr. Schotter was educated in Germany and France before returning to the United States where he graduate from college with a master's degree in electrical and mechanical engineering.
He was employed by Westinghouse, then Lockheed Aircraft in Union, N.J. He most recently was employed as chief engineer for Red Devil Manufacturing of Union, N.J., from which he retired in 1980.
Mr. Schotter lived in Canajoharie the last 10 years. He moved here from Glenwood, N.J.
He attended Valley Alliance Church in Nelliston. He was involved with the Salvation Army and led numerous church choirs throughout his life.
His wife, Ruth E. Schmidt Schotter, whom he married Oct. 12, 1940 in Newark, N.J., survivors.
Other survivors include two sons, Carl B. Schotter and Richard D. Schotter Jr., both of Glenwood, N.J.; a brother, Clarence Schotter of California; a sister, Louise Patterson of Cape Coral, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Pelletier officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon Township, N.J.

Otto Krutz
February 22, 1997
Otto L. Krutz, 88, of 153 Krutz St, Amsterdam, died Saturday afternoon at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born Oct. 12, 1908 in Ossecken, Germany, the son of Matilda and Julius Krutz.
Mr. Krutz came to Amsterdam from Germany in 1925. He has lived here ever since.
He was employed by Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills, Mohawk Carpet Mills and Mohasco Industries.
Mr. Krutz was a member of the Craneville Country Cousins and a member of the Cranesville Reformed Church.
His wife, Eva Engle Krutz, whom he married March 10, 1934, died April 18, 1989.
Survivors include a son, Edward O. Krutz of Amsterdam; a daughter Joan Ropeter of Amsterdam; a brother, Adolph Krutz of Amsterdam; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Betz Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jennifer Minier Elliott, officiating.
Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cranesville Reformed Church or to Hospice of Amsterdam, care of the funeral home.
