Ruth Mullin Clark, 69, of Hovey Road, Greenfield Center, died Saturday at home after a long illness.
Mrs. Clark was born in Ballston Spa and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a bookkeeper for Air Purification Inc. in Scotia for several years, retiring in 1996, and also worked for the Pastore Pharmacy in Ballston Spa for many years.
Mrs. Clark was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Ladies Guild, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 420 Ladies Auxiliary in Saratoga Springs.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert J. Kashuba, and her second husband, Emil P. Orisek.
In addition to her husband, Carl R. Clark of Ballston Spa, survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Dogias of Ballston Spa and Jayne Theilemann of Galway; two step-sons, William Clark of Ballston Spa and Jerry Clark of Middle Grove; two step-daughters, Deborah Paddock of Rock City Falls and Brenda Sue Whipple of Ballston Spa; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
The funeral is 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Armer Funeral Home, 39 E. High St., Ballston Spa, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in the spring in Factory Village Cemetery, Ballston Spa.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, Route 9N, Greenfield Center 12833; or to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 133 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs 12866.
Donata Viscosi
January 17, 1998
Donata R. Viscosi, 91, of Second Avenue, Gloversville, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a short illness.
Born in Rome, Oneida County, Mrs. Viscosi moved to Italy in her early teens and graduated cum laude from the Guacci Normal School in Benevento, Italy.
She returned to this country in 1923 and graduated from the Utica Business School in 1926.
While in Utica, Mrs. Viscosi worked at the Utica Free Library and the Citizens Casualty Insurance Co.
In 1932, she came to Gloversville, where she taught Italian in night school.
For many years, Mrs. Viscosi was a court interpreter and also was employed as paymaster at the former A.W. Klopot glove shop and as a glove maker at the Alexett Glove Shop.
In 1962, she and her sister started Cara Lee Bridals. Later, Mrs. Viscosi purchased the Juliet House of Brides in Latham and operated both businesses until retiring in May 1983.
She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Women's Society and former parish council.
Her husband, Angelo Viscosi, whom she married May 8, 1932, died in December 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Lena Wilson of Gloversville; a sister, Evelyn Catania of Gloversville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. There will no calling hours.
Burial will be in the spring in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity.
Arrangements are by the Amico Funeral Home, 150 S. Main St., Gloversville.
Eileen Dopp
January 18, 1998
Eileen Dopp, 75, of Steadwell Avenue, Amsterdam, died Sunday afternoon at home after a long illness.
Born April 16, 1922, in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Louis and Agnes Martin Campochiaro. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.
Mrs. Dopp was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
Her husband, Edward E. Dopp Sr., whom she married Oct. 5, 1955, died Nov. 2, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Edward E. Dopp II., of Loudonville; a step-son, John Dopp of Mountain Topp, Penn.; two daughters, Robin L. Natale of Amsterdam and Carol E. Natalie of Schenectady; two brothers, Harold Campochiaro of Clearwater, Fla., and Arthur Campochiaro of Schenectady; three sisters, Dorothy Jack and Marjorie De Nuccio, both of Schenectady, and Evelyn Meers of Scotia; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 E. Main St.
Burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Schenectady.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude Claretian Missionaries, 205 W. Monroe St., Chicago 60606.
Arthur Lathers
January 18, 1998
Arthur H. Lathers, 88, formerly of South Market Street, Johnstown, died Sunday at the Wells Nursing Home after a long illness.
Mr. Lathers was born in Johnstown and was a 1928 graduate of Johnstown High School.
He owned and operated the former Lathers & Pyne Stationery Store on Main Street, retiring in 1987. He also was employed by the postal service at the Johnstown post office.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a founding member of the Colonial Little Theater, and manager of the Dorothy Shaye Summer Theater in Cooperstown.
He was married to Helen Q. Lathers, who died July 17, 1991.
Survivors include a son, Daryll R. Lathers of Johnstown; two brothers, Clayton E. Lathers of Johnstown and Guy R. Lathers of Ballston Lake; and two granddaughters.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.
Thee will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Little Theater or to the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
William Graves
January 17, 1998
William N. Graves, 79, of Route 10, Cobleskill, died Saturday at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County.
Mr. Graves was born in Richmondville.
He was a delivery man for several years for Knickerbocker Liquors in Syosset, until 1979, when he retired and moved to Schoharie County.
Mr. Graves operated a produce stand, selling fruits and vegetables that he grew.
He was an assistant golf pro at the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club from 1938 until he joined the Army. He served from 1940 to 1953.
Survivors include four sisters, Ruth Graves and Marjorie Almy, both of Warnerville, Mildred Bogardus of Esperance and Dorothy Miller of North Syracuse; and two brothers, Kenneth Graves of Cobleskill and Charles Graves of Benson, Ariz.
A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 68 Elm St. Cremation took place at the Leatherstocking Crematory in Cherry Valley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 877, Cobleskill 12043.
Jean Wurz
January 17, 1998
Jean Gillette Wurz, 82, formerly of South Holmes Street, Scotia, died Saturday at the Glendale Home in Glenville after a long illness.
Mrs. Wurz was born in Schenectady. She was a Scotia-Glenville school cafeteria worker for 10 years, before retiring in 1968.
Mrs. Wurz was a member of the First Reformed Church of Scotia and a life member of the Scotia-Glenville PTA.
Her husband, Norman "Pink" Wurz, died Dec. 18, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Noreen Hansen of Galway and Nancy Simkins of Fonda; a son, Bruce Wurz of Burnt Hills; a brother, Robert Gillette of Scotia; and five grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave. Burial will be in Maple Shade Cemetery.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Reformed Church of Scotia, 224 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia 12302; or to the Glendale Home Activity Department, 59 Hetcheltown Road, Scotia.
George Coulombe
January 16, 1998
George "Bucky' Coulombe, 87, of Route 30, Hope, died Friday at home after being stricken.
Mr. Coulombe was born in Gloversville.
He was a New York state forest ranger for 12 years and retired from the state Department of Transportation, where he was employed for several years.
His wife, Helen Bennett Coulombe, whom he married July 3, 1935, died in 1996.
Survivors include a son, Robert Coulombe of Hope; two sisters, Irene Kibler of Wells and Dorothy Richardson of Mayfield; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was 11 a.m. today at the Northville Funeral Home, with spring burial in Wells Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Volunteer Fire Department or to Hope Volunteer Ambulance service.
Alberta Waters
January 18, 1998
Alberta Woodman Waters, 51, of Schenectady, died Sunday at St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Ticonderoga, Mrs. Waters lived in this area for many years. She was a graduate of the former Mont Pleasant High School.
In addition to her husband of six years, William Waters, survivors include a sister, Patsy Tucker of Scotia; and two brothers, Clinton John Woodman of Cape Cod, Mass., and Carl Woodman of Amsterdam.
The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Schenectady Memorial Park.

George Guisti

George Guisti, 72, of Chopin Parkway, Amsterdam, died Sunday evening at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after being stricken at home.

Edward Botaitis of Church Street, Amsterdam, died this morning at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.

Paul Gallup
January 18, 1998
Paul Elliott Gallup, 29, of Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, died Sunday after being involved in a snowmobile accident on Sacandaga Lake.
Born May 1, 1968, in Gloversville, he was the son of Gordon Douglas and Alene Dora Davis Gallup. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1987 graduate of Broadalbin Central School.
Mr. Gallup was a materials handler with Eber Brothers Distributors, Guilderland Center.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Mr. Gallup attended the Broadalbin United Methodist Church.
He married Sherri Bigelow June 14, 1997.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Alene Gallup of Broadalbin; his step-father, Garth Queeney of Broadalbin; a brother, Phillip Gallup of Brockton, Mass.; three sisters, June Duesler of Broadalbin, Laurie Teck of Galway and Tracie Bubniak of Hagaman; three nieces; six nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Jeffords Funeral Chapel, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Patricia Bush officiating.
Spring burial will be in Wells Cemetery, Wells.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Broadalbin Volunteer Fire Department or the Broadalbin Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Box 23, Broadalbin 12025.
