CLINTON FRADENBURG
EARLVILLE - Clinton John Fradenburg, died unexpectedly at the Chenango Memorial Hospital April 1, 2001.
He was born Nov. 22, 1918 in Earlville, son of Clinton E. Fradenburg and Fredericha Gadt. He grew up in the Earlville area and attended school there. He served in World War II, in the European Operation as part of the 15th Calvary. He worked two years before joining the service at the Utica Knitting Mill in Sherburne. After his discharge he worked at I.L. Richer Co. for a short time. He retired from Standard Brands in 1983. He helped his wife at Judy's Coffee Shop in Sherburne. He loved working outdoors and with his many animals. He was a farmer at heart. He was a good, honest and patriotic man,
He was predeceased by his parents, a granddaughter, Patricia Anne, and a stepdaughter, Lodema Ray. He is survived by his wife, Judy Fradenburg of McDonough; five children and their spouses: Mary and Jim Weir of Greene, Jackie and Hugh Cook of Norwich, Pat and Dick Osborne of South New Berlin, Mike and Donna Fradenburg of Norwich and Beth and Brian Loomis of Norwich. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, John, Daniel, Kurt, Dianne, Weir, Theresa Cook, Kelly, Matt and Wendy Osborne, Kecia Bailey, Bonnie Prendergast, Annie Fradenburg and Katy and Kari Loomis; great grandchildren Ashleigh, Ryan, Jacob Weir and Michael and Madison Bailey.
He has three stepchildren: Bob and Laura Thomas of McDonough, Any and Dick Jeffrey of Sherburne and Susie and Alpaugh of Sherburne. He had many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at the Wm. W. Kehoe Funeral Home, Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Kehoe Funeral Home. Father Ralph Osborne of the Zion Episcopal Church of Greene, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne at the convenience of the family. Full military honors will be conducted by the Sherburne American Legion Post 876 at the funeral home Thursday morning.

MARCIA KRUSE
NORWICH - Marcia Allen Kruse, 65, 13 Newton Ave., Norwich, died March 28, 2001 in Cooperstown following a short illness.
She was born June 19, 1935 in Rutland, Vermont, the daughter of Aaron Vail and Marquita (McFarren) Allen Jr. On March 24, 1956, she married Frederic H. Kruse Jr. in Cambridge, Mass. She graduated from Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Mass. and attended Mount Holyoke College.
Marcia is survived by her husband; two daughters: Katherine A.K. Watts of Downers Grove, Ill. and Susan M. Kruse-Thompson of Brisbane, Australia; four grandchildren: Andre Hill, Thomas Watts, Robin Watts and Nada Thompson; a brother, Aaron Vail Allen III; and a sister, Rebecca Allen Hougher.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Fair Haven, Vermont. Funeral arrangements are by the Ottoman Funeral Home in Cherry Valley.
RACHEL ECKERT
GREENE - Rachel G. Eckert, 88, passed on to meet her Lord and Savior and family on Thursday, May 31, 2001 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Eckert in 1995 and by five sisters and one brother. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sandra and Ken Cobb of McDonough, Gary and Paula Eckert of Theresa, Lynne and Roger Beach of Greene, Elaine (Billie) Houghton, of Denton, Md., Marcia and Byron Miller of Greene, Dede Boeltz and Norm Fletcher of Greene; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several step grand and step great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jamon and Catherine Lattimer; a sister-in-law, Freida Lattimer; several nieces, nephews, cousins and Beverly Eckert, Tom Houghton and John Boeltz.
Rachel received her RN degree from Methodist at School of Nursing in Brooklyn and in practiced her vocation for most of her life. She spent many hours helping friends in the community with her personal nursing skills. She received an award for over 30 years of service from the Red Cross for work in local blood banks. She was the first Republican woman Village of Greene Trustee. She was a Republican Committee person for the Town of Greene and served on the Greene Board of Elections for many years. She was a member of the Chenango Valley Rebekah Lodge #375 in Greene where she served in many capacities. She participated in the Greene Labor Day Community Picnic for over 40 years. She was a member of in the First United Methodist Church of Greene. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Root Funeral Home with Rev. William McCall Jr., Pastor of her church, officiating. Burial will be in a Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Friends of the family called Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home, 23 No. Chenango St., Greene. A service was conducted by the Chenango Valley Rebekah Lodge Sunday at 3:30.

RUTH ECCLESTON
NEW BERLIN - Ruth Corrine Eccleston, 92 of New Berlin, and formerly of Morris, died Saturday, June 2, 2001 at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich.
She was born in Morris on Dec. 15, 1908 the daughter of Jonathan and Mary (Gardner) Turner. She married Kenneth Eccleston April 29, 1927 In Atlantic City, N.J. He died Feb. 10, 1999. She had been employed by the H. W. Naylor Co. of Morris for over 22 years. She and her husband had resided in New Berlin since 1985 and prior to that they were lifelong Morris residents. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Morris. She was well known for her knitting of mittens and then giving them to all the children in the area and also her pride in feeding and helping people in need.
Ruth is survived by her son Carl Eccleston and his wife Bernice of New Berlin; two granddaughters, Carlene Brownell and her husband Larry of Amsterdam, Sharl Eccleston of Wisconsin; three step-granddaughters, Ann Downey and her husband Dennis of Norwich, Alice Church of Sherburne, Patricia James of New Berlin; one step-grandson, David James of Morris; three nephews, Paul Knickerbocker and his wife Helen of Pittsfield, Milton Knickerbocker and his wife Dorthia of Morris, Charles Turner and his wife Florence of South Edmeston; along with 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Three sisters, Clara Carpenter, Emma Stebbins and Louise Knickerbocker and two brothers Fred and Harry Turner, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, with the Rev. Joseph Fiske officiating. Burial will be in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Those who wish may donate to the United Methodist Church of Morris or the Morris or New Berlin Emergency squads in her memory. DEANNA WALLACE
NEW BERLIN - Deanna Miller Wallace, 43 of New Berlin and formerly of Morris, and Brownsboro, Ala., died Friday, June 1, 2001 at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
She was born in Sidney on July 8, 1957 the daughter of Ronald and Luella (Dixson) Miller. She had resided in New Berlin for the past five months and prior to that she had resided in Brownsboro, Ala. for several years where she had worked as a day care teacher at the "Abundance of Love" Daycare. She was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church in Brownsboro.
Deanna is survived by her children, Ashley Ellen Kent, Joshua Lee Kent and Thomas Anthony Wallace all of New Berlin. She is also survived by her father, Ronald Miller of Morris; her brothers, Joseph Miller and his wife Cindy, of New Berlin, Randall Miller and his wife Jean of Ellenville, Ronald and Matthew Miller and a sister, Olivia Miller all of Morris. Also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews survive her.
Visitation was on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris. Funeral services will be private. The family requests no flowers. Those who wish are asked to donate to a scholarship fund to be established for her children. Donations may be sent to Joseph Miller, 24 Cushman St., New Berlin, NY 13776. CATHERINE SPENCER
NORWICH - Catherine N. Spencer (Kay), 70, of Gilmore Lane, Norwich, passed away late Thursday evening, May 31, 2001 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital of Norwich.
A life-long resident of Norwich, Kay had attended the Norwich schools. She had been a 35-year employee of Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals, and was a member of their Quarter Century Service Club. Following her retirement, she had also worked as a cashier for the Jamesway department store in Norwich. An avid reader, Kay enjoyed reading many good books over the years, and, along with her husband, enjoyed bowling in several city leagues. She was also an original Star Trek fan and an avid NASCAR race fan, with her favorite driver being Bill Elliott.
Born March 22, 1931, in Norwich, Kay was the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude (Garlock) Call, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Spencer of Norwich; her daughter, Cristine Hall, also of Norwich; her step-daughter, Jacquline Spencer of Smyrna; and her step-son, Daniel Spencer of Norwich. She is also survived by her three brothers: Richard Call and his wife Caroline of Albany, Raymond Call and his wife Isabelle of Norwich, and Edward Call and his wife Sheila of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren: Tiffany and Colton Hall, and Samantha Richards; her sister-in-law, Virginia Berg of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Downey, and her brother, George Call.
Private funeral services for Kay will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Beverly Butler, chaplain of the Gilmour Health Care Facility, will officiate. Friends may call at the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. At 7, members of the Quarter Century Club will pay their respects in a group. GLADYS CARVER
SHERBURNE - Funeral services for Gladys Carver were held on Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at 10 a.m. from the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany of Sherburne. The Rev. Dr. Bruce L. MacDuffie, Vicar, officiated. Interment followed in the Riverview Cemetery of Oxford, with Rev. MacDuffie offering the committal prayers. Organist for the service was Wilbur Raville. Pallbearers were Dennis Lee, Benjamin Mumbulo, Harry Snyder and Paul Lindoerfer.
Arrangements were by the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home.
JOAN SKELLETT
NORWICH - Funeral services for Joan Skellett were held on Friday at 11 a.m. from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Conover, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiated.
Interment followed in the Shehawken Cemetery of Starrucca, Pa.
