BONNIE SHERMAN
NORWICH - Funeral services for Bonnie Sherman were held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Brandon, pastor of the North Pharsalia Bible Church, officiated. Interment followed in the South Plymouth Cemetery, with Rev. Brandon offering the committal prayers.
Pallbearers were Bonnie's grandsons: Brent Seymour, Gary Seymour, William Sherman, Khyle Sherman, John Willis, Luke Willis and Matt Willis.
FRANCES HILL
SHERBURNE - Frances F. Hill, 77, of Shawler Brook Road, Sherburne passed away Friday, June 1, 2001 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Unadilla on Oct. 28, 1923 and attended local schools. On May 11, 1940 in Sherburne she married Stanley J. Hill. Mrs. Hill was at one time employed by Standard Brands, Sherburne, the Sherburne Knitting Mill. Most recently she assisted her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Sherburne. Frances enjoyed playing Bingo and loved crafts and ceramics.
Surviving are her husband, Stanley; a daughter, Linda Hatton; three sons and a daughter in law, Lawrence Hill; Bernard Hill and Gary and Jeanette Hill, all of Sherburne; a sister in law Edith Hill of Florida; her grandchildren: Curtis and Maura Hatton of Vernon, Gregory Hatton of Sherburne, Rick and Tracy Hill of Madison, Tricia and Chris Goodrich of Florida; Ryan Hill of Florida, Bridget Hill of Sherburne, Bernard Empie of Hamilton, Jason Hill of Sherburne, Janelle Hill of Smyrna and Matthew Hill of Sherburne. Also surviving are six great grandchildren; a nephew and his wife: Wayne and Denise Hill of Florida and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother George Weed.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Burgess Funeral Home, 10 South Main St., Sherburne. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne. Friends are invited and may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

RUSSELL SAMPSON
NORWICH - Russell Sampson, 83, of 205 Brianna Drive, Centerville, Ga., passed away Saturday, June 2, 2001 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 21, 1917 in the Village of Hancock, Nev., to John H. and Hazel (Houghtaling) Sampson. He worked at Western Gear as a welder. He served in the Army in World War II.
Surviving are his second wife, Maxine Sampson of Centerville, Ga.; his daughters: Judy (Sampson) Rivenburg of Norwich, Susan (Sampson) Rogers, of Englewood, Fla. and Sally (Sampson) Wackford of Oxford; a son, Tom Sampson, of Englewood, Fla; his sisters: Charlotte (Sampson) Button of Oxford, Ruth Davis of Greene, Hazel Dietrick of Greene and Doris Huntley of Loganville, Ga.; his brothers: Charles Sampson, Ira Sampson and John Sampson, all of Greene; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Eleanor Sampson of Centerville, Ga., and a son, John Sampson of Englewood, Fla.

EDRA CONNOR
CINCINNATUS - Edra M. Connor, 90, of Taylor Avenue, Cincinnatus, died Jan. 13, 2001 at the Cortland Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, at noon at the Cincinnatus Cemetery with Fred M.S. Downs officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, Cincinnatus.
VERDA FORD
SOUTH NEW BERLIN - Verda M. Ford, 87, life-long resident of South New Berlin and most recently of the Chenango Valley Apartments, Norwich, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City after a brief illness.
She was born July 8, 1913 in the Town of New Berlin to Emory and Florence (Butler) Manwaring. She married Merritt L. Ford Sept. 25, 1935, who predeceased her on March 5, 1992. She spent her childhood in the South New Berlin area and graduated from South New Berlin School and the Utica School of Commerce, Utica. She worked for AAA in Norwich for 19 years, retiring in 1978. She was a lifetime, dedicated and founding member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, South New Berlin, where she served the Church in many capacities as altar guild member, vestryman and ECW. She was a 62-year member of the Fortnightly Study Club of South New Berlin and received the Federation of Women's Club Dedicated Service Award in 1996. She also belonged to the Hobby Club. Verda was an outstanding cook and avid reader and community volunteer.
Surviving are two daughters: Sandra and Eugene Attleson of Cortland; Anne and Andrew Sebeck of Gilbertsville; one son, Emory and Susan Ford of Florence, Maine; seven grandchildren: Mark, Steven and Andrea Sebeck, Sheila and Eric Attleson, Kelly Ford Lim and Kendra Ford; four great grandchildren: Nicholas, Alicia, Ellison and Alexa. Also surviving are one sister-in-law, Anita Peet of Oneonta, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Ione Dixson on Nov. 2, 1963.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, South New Berlin with Rev. Charles Taylor of St. Matthew's officiating. Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin. Interment will be Riverside Cemetery, South New Berlin.

JANE AMENDOLA
NORWICH - Funeral services for Jane A. Amendola were held on Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel in St. Paul's Cemetery. Rev. Richard Dellos, pastor of St. Joseph's Church in Oxford, officiated. The readings for the mass were proclaimed by Steve Portelli and Mary Kay Frederick, a nephew and niece of Mrs. Amendola. Mary Kay served as Eucharistic Minister.
The arrangements were by the Devine-Wilson Memorial Home.
DONALD WHORRALL
OTSELIC - Donald K. Whorrall, 68, of Route 26, Otselic, died Monday, June 4, 2001 at home.
He was born in Baldwinsville and retired from New Process Gear in Dewitt as a machine repair man after 32 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche, of Otselic; two daughters: Sherry Kemak of Chittenango and Mary Powell of Deansboro; three sons: Terry of Virginia Beach, Va., Barry of Otselic and Jerry of South Otselic; four sisters: Una Abold of Liverpool, Hazel Weddington and Barbara Richer of Greer, S.C. and Arlene Greene of Cicero; one brother: Elmer Whorrall of Barefoot Bay, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home, DeRuyter. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, South Otselic. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
ROBERT OLIVER
NORWICH - Committal services for Robert J. Oliver, who passed away March 9, 2001 were held on Monday, June 4, at 2 p.m. from the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Rebekah Sweet, pastor of the Broad Street United Methodist Church, officiated. Full military rites were accorded the deceased veteran by members of local veterans organizations under the direction of Commander John Greeley. Members of the firing squad were Bill Ballin, Pete McGowan, Harold Funke and Bob Kappauf. Color Guard members were Harry Gibson, Don Dibble, Ron George and Ken McNitt. The flag was folded by Joe Benenati, Gene Norton and John Greeley with Mr. Greeley presenting the flag to Bob's widow Shirley Oliver. Bugler for the service was Erin Finkle and the Bag Piper was Harry Nichols.
Pall bearers were Bob's sons, Richard, James, David and Robert Oliver and two of his grandsons, Andrew Oliver and Eric Jennings.
Arrangements were by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
