MARY ANNE BRIGHAM
ONEONTA - Mary Anne Brigham, 57, of Oneonta, passed away Tuesday evening, May 21, 2002 in the Fox Hospital of Oneonta.
Born in New Berlin, Mary Anne grew up in the Oneonta area and attended their local schools. While living in Oneonta, she had been employed by the Robyowood Adult Home, and the Meadows Nursing Home in Cooperstown, as a nurse’s aide, until she became disabled.
Born Aug. 12, 1944, in New Berlin, Mary Anne was the daughter of Loyal and Mary (Ahlstrom) Shoemaker. She is survived by her mother, Mary Shoemaker of Oneonta, and her children: Laurie Brigham of Harpursville, Karen Brigham Bruce of Davenport, Eddie Brigham of Cooperstown, and Jackie Brigham of Oneonta; her husband, Lester A. Brigham, Jr. of So. Kortright; one sister, Geraldine Shoemaker of No. Carolina; and one brother, Loyal Shoemaker, Jr. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Shoemaker of Oneonta; her best friend, Eleanor Monroe of Oneonta; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Loyal Shoemaker, and her brother, Louis E. Shoemaker.
Funeral services for Mary Anne will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home of Norwich. The Rev. Gary Doupe, pastor of the Centenary Chenango St. United Methodist Church of Binghamton, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hillington Cemetery of Morris. There will be no calling hours.
LEONE WICKHAM
NORWICH - Leone "Nonie" Wickham, 85, of Route 12 South, Norwich, and long-time resident of the Norwich area, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 22, 2002 at her home where she had lived since 1939.
Born in Dunmore ,Pa., Nonie grew up in the Washington Heights area of New York City and had attended school in Brooklyn. Moving to Norwich in 1939, Nonie and her husband, Shelton, purchased their home on Route 12 where they continued to live and raise their family. Nonie was a long-time employee of GLA and its successor, Simmonds Precision, working for over 40 years for the company and retiring in 1977.
Following her retirement, Nonie and her husband did some traveling and, while at home, she would find contentment and relaxation in her reading and crocheting. She also enjoyed doing ceramics, and could often be found working with her kilns in the basement of her home.
Born February 27, 1917, in Dunmore, Pa., Nonie was the daughter of Thomas and Harriet Johnson. On Oct. 14, 1939, in Guilford, she married Shelton Wickham, who passed away April 1, 1987.
Nonie is survived by her children: Suzanne Pasquale and her husband Larry of Norwich; Patricia Farrell and her husband James of Portland; Linda Shepler and her husband Milton of Norwich; Shelley Wickham of Smyrna; and Thomas Wickham and his wife Judi of Norwich. Also surviving are her grandchildren. Melissa Shepler of San Diego, Calif.; Christopher Shepler of Los Angeles, Calif.; Branden Wickham, Willow Wickham, and Aaron Wickham, all of Smyrna; Adam Holt of Norwich; and Chace Wickham, also of Norwich. Besides her husband Shelton, Nonie was predeceased by her grandson, T.J. Wickham, in April of this year.
Memorial services for Nonie will be held on Wednesday, May 29, at 11 a.m. from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Norwich. The Rev. Glenn Mahaffey, rector, will officiate. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.

DAVID HOY
SIDNEY - David L. Hoy, 78, of Port Richey, Fla., and formerly of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002 after losing his battle to cancer.
He was born Nov. 26, 1923, the son of Percy and Evelyn (Doyle) Hoy. He was predeceased by both his parents; his first wife, Jean (Cole); brother, Herbert Hoy, and sister, Aliene Constable.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Port Richey; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Marie Loomis, of Poquoson, Va., and Gary and Kathy Hoy of Bainbridge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and William Evans of Norwich, and Andrea and Scott Keaty, of Endicott; two stepsons, John and Brian Marek; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Hoy of New Port Richey, Fla., and Theo Christianson, of Vermont, and a brother-in-law, Leonard and Janice Cole, of Binghamton. David is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was a superintendent for Willian H. Lane, Inc., of Binghamton, and a member of the Hudson Valley Carpenter’s Union Local 258. David also belonged to the VFW, American Legion Post, member of the Moose Club and a life-time member of the Sidney Center Emergency Squad.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate David’s life at the Sidney Center Methodist Church at 10 a.m. May 30. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for any donations to be made in David’s name to the Herbabdo Pasco Hospice, 12029 Majestic Blvd., Suite 1, Hudson, Fla. 24667 or to a charity of your choice.

JOSEPH PHELAN
OXFORD - Joseph S. Phelan of Oxford died Monday morning, Nov. 30 at the New York State Veterans' Home, Oxford. He was born on April 10, 1916 in Brooklyn, the son of Joseph and Della (Prendergast) Phelan. On April 18, 1939 he married Agnes Preston who survives.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford with the Rev. Douglas Cunningham, pastor of St. Joseph's Church of Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford with military honors accorded by Fort Hill Post, American Legion.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

NORWICH - John V. McNulty, 83, formerly of Norwich, died Saturday morning, Nov. 28, 1998 at the Ideal Senior Living Center.
