Richard C. Fisher

Mr. Richard C. Fisher, 87, of Gloversville, N.Y., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1914 in Gloversville, the son of Homer and Alice Schuyler Fisher. He was a 1932 graduate of Gloversville High School and attended the former Gloversville Business School.

He was employed as a clerk by the Gloversville Water Works for over 40 years. He also worked part-time at Dunday's Clothiers in Gloversville for over 20 years.

Mr. Fisher was a longtime member of the former First United Methodist Church of Gloversville, where he had served on the administrative board. Since 1999 he was a member of the Fremont Street United Methodist Church. He was a director of the Gloversville YMCA; a former board member of the Eccentric Club; a former member of the board of trustees of the Gloversville Free Library; a board member of the former Automobile Club of Fulton County, and a past director of the Sir William Johnstown Boy Scout Council. He also dined with "The Lunch Bunch" at the Johnstown Holiday Inn.

He was married on April 8, 1939 to Vivian Oaksford. who survives. Additional survivors include sons, David R. Fisher and his wife, Linda, of Gloversville and Edwin W. Fisher and his wife, Sara, of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Gerald S. Fisher of Vero Beach, Fla.; granddaughters, Kristin Fisher Komarinski and her husband, Derrick, Karen L. Fisher, Robyn S. Fisher and Barrett E. Fisher; nephew, Richard Fisher.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Wayne E. Jones Jr. and the Rev. Douglas G. Lathrop will officiate. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, or to the Gloversville Free Library, 58 E. Fulton St., Gloversville, NY 12078.

Helen A. Blanchard

Helen A. Blanchard, 82, formerly of Queen Anne Road, Amsterdam, passed away Friday morning at Montgomery Meadows Residential Health Care Facility, where she was a resident.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1919 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Eugene and Lizzie Cole Stock. She was locally educated and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Blanchard was a homemaker devoting her time to her family. She was a member of the Fonda-Fultonville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Fort Hunter Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving sons, John M. Blanchard of Fultonville and Frank R. Blanchard of Fort Hunter; a sister-in-law, Anna Myers of Fort Hunter; and four grandchildren, William, Susan, Jessica and Kenneth Blanchard.

Mrs. Blanchard was married on Sept. 21, 1944 to Marcellus A. Blanchard, who passed away on June 2, 1987.

Calling hours were held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Douglas Lathrop officiated. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Fort Hunter Fire Department, c/o the funeral home.

Cara DeLaura

Cara Syndy DeLaura, Sept. 5, 1966-Dec. 1, 2001, died of cancer, after a long illness.

She is survived by her husband, James P. DeLaura; seven children, Kery, Andrew, Anthony, Jarred, Kyle, Amber and Tyler; her parents, Linda and Richard Davecki; and her grandfather, Albert Beeunas. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Eva Beeunas.

She touched many lives, lived her dream and came home to the place she loved. Burial was in Rural Park Cemetery, Little Falls. A service was offered by Sister Patricia.

Frank K. Intelisano Sr.

Frank K. Intelisano Sr., 67, of Stevers Mill Road, died Tuesday morning at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

He was born Feb. 15, 1934 in New York City, a son of Frank and Josephine Averna Intelisano, and attended P.S. No. 40 there, before moving to Gloversville as a young adult. Mr. Intelisano lived in Broadalbin for the past 40 years.

He was employed as a dye-check inspector at General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Intelisano was a member of IUE Local 301 in Schenectady.

He attended St. Joseph's Church in Broadalbin.

He is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Lake, whom he married Dec. 24, 1950; his mother, Josephine Kenwood of Shoreham; four sons, Frank K. Intelisano Jr. of Gloversville, Joseph Intelisano and Michael M. Intelisano, both of Amsterdam, and James V. Intelisano of Northville; four daughters, Sandra J. Przybylowicz of Galway, Terry A. Greco and Annette C. Intelisano, both of Broadalbin, and Pauline B. Intelisano of Ballston Spa; a brother, Michael Kenwood of Shoreham; a sister, Susan McIlwaith of Shoreham; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 38 W. Main St., Broadalbin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, 7 North St., Broadalbin. The Rev. Timothy Mangan will be celebrant. Burial will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.

Ruth F. Allen

Mrs. Ruth F. Allen, 89, of Swart Hill Road, Amsterdam, formerly of Cliff Street, Canajoharie, died Friday morning, Dec. 7, at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1912, in Palatine Bridge, the daughter of William H. and Grace C. Hopkins Fuller. Mrs. Allen was educated at the former Palatine School. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School class of 1930. She was a lifelong resident of Canajoharie and had lived in Amsterdam since 2000.

Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and mother. She was previously employed at the New York Power & Light Co. and also the United States Postal Service in Palatine Bridge.

She was a member of Canajoharie United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Rensselaer Chapter, for 50 years. She was also a 50-year honorary member of the Monday Evening Club.

She is survived by two nieces, Judith Clancy of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Nancy Anderson of Wanatchee, Wash.; one brother, William C. Fuller of Canajoharie; four great-nieces, Lisa Schenk of Walworth, N.Y., Amy Newkirk of Webster, N.Y., Jennifer Hermsmeyer of Providence, R.I., and Kirsten Williams of Kent, Wash.; one great-nephew, Jeffery Anderson of Ithaca, N.Y.; four great-great-nieces, Chelsea Schenk and Hayley Schenk, both of Walworth, Katherine Hermsmeyer of Providence, R.I., and Libby Williams of Kent, Wash.; three great-great-nephews, Jacob Newkirk and Evan Newkirk, both of Webster, N.Y., and Nathan Hermsmeyer of Providence.

On Sept. 7, 1935, she married Dewitt R. Allen at Canajoharie United Methodist Church. He died March 3, 1990. She was also predeceased by one son, William D. Allen in 1946.

Burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service, PO Box 126, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Calling hours will be private at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home Inc., 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, where services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Dr. Robert Farmer of Canajoharie United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Charles L. Eagan

Mr. Charles L. Eagan, 54, of North Street, Gloversville, died Friday, Dec. 7, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville following a long illness.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1947, in Amsterdam, the son of Walter and Gladys Scott Eagan. He was employed as a mechanic by Cars On Credit in Johnstown.

Mr. Eagan was married on April 26, 1969, to Sharon A. Myers, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Gladys Eagan of Gloversville; daughter, Deborah Eagan of Gloversville; sons, Charles L. Eagan Jr. and Thomas F. Eagan, both of Gloversville; brothers Richard Eagan of Gloversville, Paul Eagan of Lowville, N.Y. and Timothy Eagan Sr. of Johnstown; sisters, Carol Eagan, Maryann Hayes and Sharon Colson, all of Gloversville and Sheila D'Onofrio of Poland, N.Y.; granddaughters, Nicole Murray, Tiffany Murray and Brianna Eagan; grandson, Dale Eagan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by brothers Bruce Eagan and James W. Eagan; and granddaughter, Nikita Chevy Murray.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. R.W. Williams will officiated. Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078.

Anna Ciaccio Viano

Mrs. Anna Ciaccio Viano, 94, died Friday, Dec. 7, at Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville, where she had resided for the past 3 1/2 years.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1907, in Gloversville, the daughter of Gaetano and Ursula Farina Ciaccio. She and her late husband, Anthony Viano lived in Brooklyn for several years. He died in 1962.

She was employed as a salesperson at the former Meltezers Fur Shop in Gloversville for many years.

She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Gloversville and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her sister, Assunta "Sussie" DelSignore of Gloversville; her nine nieces and nephews, Rose Cellary of Johnstown, Guy DelSignore Jr. and Robert DelSignore, both of Mayfield, Ursula Chizek, Ursula McDonald, Guy Ciaccio and Joan Handy, all of Gloversville, Fred Viano of New York City; Richard Viano of New Jersey; Emily Heaning of Amsterdam; several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas Ciaccio and Joseph Ciaccio; a sister, Rose Ciaccio; and a nephew, Panfilo "Pat" DelSignore.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 8:45 a.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. The Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
