Adeline M. Knapp

Adeline M. Knapp, 59, of Mountain Road, Mayfield, died Friday morning at Nathan Littauer Hospital after being stricken at home.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1942. She was the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Goings Bushnell. At one time, she was employed by the former Coleco Industries and SLM in Mayfield.
Survivors include her companion, William Crowter of Mayfield; four sons, William Tyrell and David Tyrell of Gloversville, Jason Knapp of Orange County, Calif., and William Crowter of Mayfield; four daughters, Darla Tyrell of Sugar Land, Texas, Tammy Knapp of Amsterdam, Kelly Crowter of Ballston Spa and Kim Crowter of Schenectady; one brother, Delbert Bushnell of Gloversville; one sister, Barbara Gray of Anchorage, Alaska; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St., where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in King Cemetery.
Zelma H. Marriner

Zelma H. Marriner, 78, of Belleview, Fla., died Tuesday in Belleview after a short illness.
She was born in Mayfield, the daughter of Harvey and Mary Ann Hart. She was a lifelong resident of Mayfield and moved to Belleview in 1997. She was a retired glove worker.
She was a member of the Mayfield Servicemen's Club and was an avid quilter and reader.
Survivors include her husband, Orvil G. Marriner Jr. of Belleview; three daughters, Penny Boduch of Ballston Spa, Nikki Hathaway of Amsterdam and Roberta Chramoff of Malta, N.Y.; a brother, Milton Hart of Mayfield; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Earl Hart.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. May 12 at Mayfield Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Cremation Society of Ocala, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fulton County or to a charity of one's choice.
John L. Patterson

Mr. John L. Patterson, 69, of Maplewood Avenue, Johnstown, died Thursday, April 26, at home after a long illness.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1930, in Amsterdam, the son of George H. and Arbutus Case Patterson.
Mr. Patterson attended Johnstown schools and was a member of St. Anthony's Church. He was a former member of Johnstown Moose, Elks Lodge and American Legion.
He was a Korean War veteran.
Mr. Patterson was employed for 35 years at the former Karg Brothers Tannery in Johnstown until his retirement in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hennessy Patterson, whom he married on Oct. 2, 1954; three sons, Richard Patterson of Johnstown, David Patterson of Fontana, Calif., and William Patterson of Waterloo, Seneca, Colo.; one daughter, Nancy Deering of Johnstown; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Church, Nicholas Street, Johnstown. The Rev. James Fitzmaurice, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
Benjamin Edelstein

Benjamin Edelstein, 91, of Lauderhill, Fla., formerly of Gloversville, died Thursday in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1909, in Poland, the son of Lipman and Sarah Kowalsky Edelstein. Mr. Edelstein was educated in New York City schools and later moved to Gloversville in 1946, where he resided for more than 40 years before he moved to Florida.
Mr. Edelstein served in the National Guard during World War II.
He was employed by the former Lincoln Leather Co. of Gloversville for several years and was later employed as a department manager for the former Coleco Industries at both the Amsterdam and Gloversville plants for over 25 years.
He was a member of Knesseth Israel Synagogue and the Jewish Community Center, both of Gloversville.
Mr. Edelstein was predeceased by his wife, Sally Milstein Edelstein, whom he married on Feb 11, 1934, who died on May 17, 1991. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Samuel, Morris and Harold Edelstein, and one sister, Sylvia Shulman.
Mr. Edelstein is survived by two sons, Sheldon Edelstein of Orange, Calif., and Barry Edelstein of Mount Marlten, N.J.; one brother, Leo Edelstein of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Steven, David, Andrew, Lauren and Karen Edelstein; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville. Contributions can be made in Mr. Edelstein's name to Knesseth Israel Synagogue. Arrangements are by Hollenbeck Funeral Home, Gloversville.
Adeline Parker

Adeline Parker, 94, of Mayfield, died Wednesday evening at home.
She was born on June 6, 1906, in Union Hill, N.J., the daughter of John and Dora Brunner Meiller. She attended schools in Union Hill and later moved to Mayfield, where she resided most of her life.
Mrs. Parker was a glovemaker for several area glove companies for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Parker was a member of Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church and its Women's Association. She was a former member of Bannertown 55 Plus Senior Citizens Center of Mayfield.
She was survived by one daughter, Gloria Robinson of Mayfield; one sister, Matilda Warner of Middletown, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Stacey Gordon and Kara Relyea; one great-grandchild, Nikayla Towne-Relyea, all of Mayfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parker was predeceased by her husband, Paul Parker, whom she married in 1928. He died in 1979. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Charles, James and Joseph Meiller, and two sisters, Dorothy Bolton and Elizabeth Meyers.
The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Kenneth Applegate, interim pastor of Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Parker's name to Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church or Mountain Valley Hospice.
Dorothy Weber

Dorothy E. Dake Weber, 95, died Thursday morning at her son's home in the town of Broadalbin.
She was born on May 6, 1905, in Morristown, N.Y., a daughter of Harry and Alice Stokes Whitworth. She was educated in Morristown schools. Mrs. Weber moved to Broadalbin in the late 1930s. She later moved to Norristown, Pa., where she lived for 18 years. Mrs. Weber returned to Broadalbin in 1993.
She was employed as an inspector at the former Crosley Glove Shop in Broadalbin.
Mrs. Weber was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Broadalbin. At one time, she was a 4-H sewing instructor. She was a member of the Senior Adult Citizens Group in Norristown, Pa.
In 1921, she married Lewis Dake. He died in 1943. She later married George Weber in 1946. He died in 1965. She was predeceased by three children: Donald Dake, who died in 1981; Walter Dake, who died in 1990; and Dorothy Currey, who died in 1992.
Her survivors include a son, Roger Dake of Amsterdam; two daughters, Phyllis M. Mikucki of Norristown, Pa., and Avis M. Dake of York, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, 38 W. Main St., Broadalbin, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Herbert Johnson will officiate. Burial will take place at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Jeffery Charles Carpenter

Jeffery Charles Carpenter, 41, of Macon, Ga., died Sunday, April 22, at Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1959 in Amsterdam. He was formerly of Fort Hunter, the son of Gertrude Forsey Carpenter of Gloversville and John and Jackie Carpenter Sr. of Macon.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Colby-Carpenter, whom he married on April 27, 1985; his stepdaughter, Robin Brooker of Gloversville; three grandchildren; six brothers, Edgar and Eric of Georgia, John Jr. of Massachusetts, Timothy of Virginia, Malcom and Hondo Carpenter of Amsterdam; two stepsisters, Denice Chittenden of Georgia and Deana Wheeler of Broadalbin; two stepbrothers, Dennis Smith of Broadalbin and Dean Smith of Newburgh, N.Y.; three sister-in-laws, Lanita, Beverly and Rosa Carpenter. Several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Arrangements are by Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon.
