Elizabeth Mac Lombardi

Mrs. Elizabeth Mac Lombardi, 79, of Hillcrest Springs, formerly of Grand Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.
She was born on Nov. 10, 1921 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Paul and Anna Szczepanik Mac. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1941 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Amsterdam.
At one time, she was employed by J.C. Penney Co. and later for Nationals, both of Amsterdam, until her retirement.
Mrs. Lombardi was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist, Amsterdam, and the former St. Cecilia Choir.
She was married to Samuel Lombardi in May 1953 and he died on March 28, 1998.
Mrs. Lombardi is survived by two brothers, Albert Mac of Amsterdam and Gabriel Mac of Albany; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam, where funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Church of St. John the Baptist in care of the funeral chapel.
Anna Bouvier

Anna Bouvier, 84, of Evansville, Ind., died Friday evening at Little Sisters of the Poor.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1915 in Gloversville, the daughter of Michael and Hannah O'Hare.
Anna was a former member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Evansville; Church of Our Savior in Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and Church of the Immaculate in Owensboro, Ky. She was also a former member of Ozanam in Owensboro and a member of Birthright.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Baumgart of Evansville, Ind. and Theresa Huculak of Manila, Philippines; sons, A. Michael Bouvier of Palm Bay, Fla., John Bouvier of Owensboro, Ky. and Joseph Bouvier, Lexington, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Bouvier, who died in 1991; and two brothers, John O'Hare and Martin E. O'Hare.
A memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick Foster officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1236 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, Ind. 47714, or the charity of your choice.
Mary C. Brown

Mrs. Mary C. Brown, 92, of 312 W. State St. Johnstown, passed away April 22, 2001 at her home.
She was born on Sept. 5, 1908 in Catlett, Va., the daughter of Thomas N. and Susie Morton Gordon. She graduated from Manassas High School.
For many years she was employed as a supervisor for Uniroyal Corporation in Naugatuck, Conn. and retired in 1987. Mrs. Brown moved from Connecticut to Johnstown in 1997, where she resided with her niece, Janice Barnwell.
She was a member of the Ansonia AME Zion Church, Ansonia, Conn., and was a member of the Griffin Hospital Auxiliary.
She was united in marriage to Douglas Brown in 1946 and he passed away in 1995. She is survived by one son, Clyde T. Brown of Ansonia, Conn., one sister, Ruby Robinson of Fredericksburg, Va., one brother, Alexander Gordon of Catlett, Va., one granddaughter, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday in Ansonia, Conn. and interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Local arrangements are by the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St. Johnstown.
Rose Compani Davis

Mrs. Rose Compani Davis, age 94, died Sunday at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing, Gloversville, where she resided the past 1-1/2 years.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1906 in Fonda, the daughter of Frank and Jennie Aldi Compani. She attended Fonda schools.
She was employed by St. Thomas Inc. of Gloversville for 57 years until her retirement in 1992.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the former St. Mary's Church, both of Gloversville, and Johnstown Women of the Moose and its Academy of Friendship.
She was married on Nov. 23, 1930 to George Davis, who died on Aug. 23, 1963.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan D. Oare and her husband Kenneth Oare of Gloversville; her brother, Carmen Compani of Gloversville; her sisters, Julia Bell of Fonda, Thressa Vollero of Gloversville, and Philomena Musella of Schenectady; her granddaughters, Kimberly Russo and Tracey Oare; her great-granddaughters, Kayla Russo, Jennifer Russo and Ashleigh Dockstader; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Sheri L. Oare, her brothers Ralph Compani Sr.; John Compani, Antonio "Tony" Compani, and Frank Compani Jr.; and her sister, Stella DeBlasi.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 12:15 p.m. Thursday followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. David Tressic, pastor, will officiate. Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.

Margaret Erb

Mrs. Margaret Erb, 97, of South Third Street, Northville, died Monday at the home of her son in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was born on April 16, 1904 in Vischer Ferry, N.Y., the daughter of Nicholas and Lula Cronkhite Bloodgood. She was a graduate of Albany Business College.
At one time she worked at General Electric Co., Schenectady. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Northville United Methodist Church.
Her husband, John E. Erb, whom she married on Oct. 28, 1933, died on Sept. 26, 1988. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Erb of Lake Hopatcong, N.J. and John Erb of Albuquerque; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
Wanda Reese Roach

Mrs. Wanda Reese Roach, 93, of Kingsboro Avenue, Gloversville, passed away Monday, April 23, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 30.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1907 in Titusville, Pa., the daughter of Walford and Mary Johnson Cederquist. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and State University at Geneseo.
Mrs. Roach was employed as a teacher by the Gloversville school system for over 35 years. From 1953 until her retirement in 1973, she taught at Park Terrace School.
She was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church of Gloversville, where she had taught Sunday School. She was a member of the former 1793 Club and active in several local book clubs.
She was first united in marriage to Robert A. Reese, who died in June 1968; On July 4, 1992 she was united in marriage to Charles Cawood Roach of Gloversville, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, John Reese of Richfield, Conn. and Dr. Richard Reese of Orrs Island, Maine; one daughter, Jean Reese Rekemeyer of Westboro, Mass.; one sister, Mildred Anderson of Winnetka, Ill.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins.
There will be no visiting hours. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday at the Spicer Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, Gloversville. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Arrangements are by Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St., Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Matthew W. Smith

Matthew W. Smith, 13, of Northern Blvd., Hagaman, died Saturday evening of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. His maternal grandparents, Ovideo and Yolanda Tasciotti also died in the accident.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1987 in Gloversville, the son of Rodger W. Smith Sr. and Gloria Tasciotti. He was a lifelong area resident.
Matthew was in the seventh grade at the Wilbur H. Lynch Middle School in Amsterdam.
He is survived by his loving parents, Gloria Tasciotti of Hagaman and Rodger and his wife Deborah Smith Sr. of Gloversville; his paternal grandmother, Inez Clarke of Gloversville; four half brothers, Rodger W. Smith Jr., Brian and Scott Kneeskern and Michael Smith; one uncle, two aunts and several cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends on 4 to 7 p.m. today at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
