Judge George E. Scunziano died Feb. 3, in Tucson, Ariz.
He was born Dec. 14, 1926 in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife, Claire R. Scunziano; children, George E. Scunziano Jr., New York; Linda C. Lyons, Tucson; James Scunziano, Orego.; Marjorie Sams, Virginia; Alfred Scunziano, Tucson; John Scunziano, Patricia Scunziano and Robert Scunziano, New York Joseph Scunziano, Massachusetts; Michael Scunziano and William Scunziano, New York; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was a Navy World War II veteran.
He was a bus driver, union shop steward, police officer as well as chief of police in Northville, town magistrate for 17 years in Edinburg, 3rd and 4th degree as well as a district deputy in the Knights of Columbus, president of the Fulton and Saratoga Counties New York Magistrates Association, member of the New York State Magistrates Association, life member of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police and life member of the Northeastern Chiefs of Police Association.
Gloria Snyder

Mrs. Gloria Snyder, 63, of Gloversville, died Monday at home following a long illness.
She was born in Gloversville on Oct. 6, 1937, the daughter of James and Julia DeSantis Di Mezza. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and Albany Business College, where she received a degree in accounting.
Early in her life she helped with the family business, Di Mezza Liquor Store, Gloversville. She also worked at the former Johnstown Hospital and from 1987 to 1999 she was resident manager at Lexington Center on Rosewood Avenue, Johnstown, leaving due to ill health.
She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church.
In addition to her parents of Gloversville, she is survived by three sons, Fred Snyder of Broadalbin, Daniel and Mark Snyder, both of Gloversville; two sisters, Ann Catanzaro and Marie Schutz, both of Gloversville; one brother, Vincent C. Di Mezza of Edinburg; two granddaughters, Caitlin Snyder and Megan Snyder; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church with Rev. Donald Czelusniak, pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6 to 9 p.m. at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 147 Bleecker St., Gloversville. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, in the spring.
Vola E. King Samrov

Vola E. King Samrov, 83, of Gloversville, died Wednesday at home.
Mrs. Samrov was born on July 24, 1917 in Gloversville, the daughter of Harry I. and Mae Smith King Sr. She was educated in Gloversville and was a lifelong area resident.
She was employed as follows: a waitress at Glen's Tavern for several years; later at Grandoe Corp.; a leather worker at St. Thomas Inc. She retired from Fulmont News Distributing Co., formerly of Gloversville.
She formerly attended Trinity Episcopal Church.
Survivors include three sons, Frank J. Samrov Jr., Richard J. Samrov and Mark S. Lewis, all of Gloversville; a daughter, Nancy M. Samrov of Gloversville; a brother Thomas E. King of Sherburne, N.Y.; two sisters, Lila Main of Edgewater, Fla. and Lucy Dingman of Gloversville; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Samrov Sr., who died in 1972; a son, Russell L. Fosmire; a brother, Harry I. King Jr.
The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. David Tressic, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Walter Milo (Skip) Schroeder, 74, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Gloversville, died Feb. 6. He retired from Milligan-Higgins of Johnstown in 1983. He also served in the Army Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Katharine A. Schroeder, St. Augustine, Fla.; two daughters, Katharine Schmitter, Tucson, Ariz. and Nancy White, New Bern, N.C.; four sons, Alan Schroeder, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., David Schroeder, Miami Beach, Fla., Tyler Schroeder, Rensselaer, and Scott Schroeder, Atlanta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, Ian Roberts, Amy Stockfield, David Schmitter, Amanda Schroeder, James White, Ashley Schroeder, Katharine White, Wesley Schroeder, Margaret Schroeder, Katrina Schroeder. Josephine M. Schuyler

Miss Josephine M. Schuyler, 89, formerly of North Second Street, Northville, died Wednesday afternoon at the James Johnson Memorial Nursing Home, Endicott, N.Y., following a long illness.
She was born on May 23, 1911 in Schenectady, the daughter of Nelson and Fannie Dunham Schuyler. She was a 1928 graduate of Northville Central School; a 1932 graduate of Skidmore College with a BA degree and a 1943 graduate of State University of Albany with a master's degree.
She taught French and Latin at Northville Central School and retired in 1973. She also taught French at the former Northville Holiness Academy from 1976 to 1986.
She is survived by several cousins.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Northville Pilgrim Holiness Church. Spring burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Holiness Church of Northville.
John N. Swanker

John N. Swanker, 86, of Pensacola, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Pensacola.
Mr. Swanker was born in Amsterdam, the son of Charles F. and Evelyn Nichols Swanker. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served on the USS Makassar Strait. Mr. Swanker was past secretary and honorary member of the Mayfield Yacht Club and a member of the Concordia Club in Gloversville. He was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church while living in Amsterdam and converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after moving to Pensacola in 1974. He retired from the Naval Depot in Scotia.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Andrienne Hansen Swanker of Pensacola.; a daughter, Jahnn Swanker Gibson, and husband David of Johnstown; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Lynne Gibson of Long Island.
Mr. Swanker will be cremated and his cremains will be inurned in Fairview Cemetery of Amsterdam.

Helen Kissinger

Helen Kissinger, 88 years young, of Northville, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, after a short illness.
She was born on Nov. 5, 1913, in Amsterdam and was a longtime resident of Northville.
She worked in various glove manufacturing industries and retired from the Northville Central School District in 1977. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, carpentry and numerous arts and crafts activities.
She is survived by five children, George Brown and his wife, Anne, of Niskayuna; Linda Brown of Lewisville, Texas; Nelson Kissinger and his wife, Debi, of Liberty, S.C.; Kathryn Kissinger of Northville; and Carol Ferguson and her husband, Philip, of Gloversville. She was also the proud grandmother of Linda Prewitt-Vinton of Lewisville, Texas; Jennifer Kissinger of Liberty, S.C.; Lindsay Kissinger of Northville; and Jeffrey Ferguson and Andrew Ferguson, both of Gloversville; and the great-grandmother of Lindy Prewitt of Lewisville, Texas. She is also survived by a sister, Stella Proper of the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur Kissinger, whom she married on Dec. 31, 194. He died in February 1999.
Mrs. Kissinger donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical College.
There will be no viewing hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northampton Ambulance Service.
Florence Paluzzi

Mrs. Florence Rose Paluzzi, 102, of Smith Street, Canajoharie, died early Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, after a short illness.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1899 in Castel Campangnano, Caserta, Italy, the daughter of Sullivan and Guistina Vitelli Rose. She moved from Italy in 1907 to Canajoharie, where she was raised and educated.
She was employed as a Larkin secretary for the John D. Larkin Co. She operated a Larkin store in Canajoharie for over 20 years, during which time she received many awards for her sales. She also worked for a short time in strained foods at Beech-Nut during World War II. In addition, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Paluzzi was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Roman Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Catherine Esther No. 1264 and SS. Peter and Paul's Rosary Society. She was also an avid gardener and a member of the Canajoharie-Fort Plain Garden Club, where she won many awards.
Survivors include two sons, Victor J. Paluzzi and Joseph J. Paluzzi Jr., both of Canajoharie; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Henry Clouthier of Palatine Bridge, Eleanor Pomella of Canajoharie, Helen Iacobucci of Canajoharie and Eileen and Knute Show of Canajoharie; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends.
She was married on Feb. 21, 1916 to Joseph Paluzzi Sr. He died in June 1976. She was also predeceased by a son, John A. Paluzzi, in 1949; a daughter, Elsie Evans, in 1945; three brothers; and a sister.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul's Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. William Gaffigan will officiate. Burial will take place in SS. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the fund-raising committee at SS. Peter and Paul's Roman Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.

Evelyn C. Peclet, 87, of Route 67, Johnstown, died Saturday, Jan. 19, at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1914 in Halstead, Pa. She lived in the Johnstown and Gloversville area for the past 50 years.
She was the store manager for Avery Shoe Store in Gloversville for many years.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose.
On Jan. 19, 1936, she married John Peclet in Fonda.
Survivors include her husband, John Peclet; a daughter, Evelyn Joan Schermerhorn of Gloversville; a brother, Walter O'Grady of Savannah, Ga.; two grandchildren, Dale Schermerhorn of New York City and John Schermerhorn of Johnstown; a great-grandchild, Joshua Schermerhorn; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private. Cremation will take place at Vale Crematorium. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Littauer Hospital Coronary Care Unit, Gloversville, NY 12078.
