Ruth Rizio

Mrs. Ruth Rizio, 80, of Reservoir Street, Johnstown, died Monday morning at her home after a long illness. She was born on Feb. 20, 1921 in Mayfield, the daughter of Edward and Mary Jane Frye Davis. She was educated in the Broadalbin and Johnstown schools. She had been a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Johnstown. She is survived by one son, Frank Patsy Rizio and his wife Judith Ann of Johnstown; one daughter, Mary Jane Robbins and her husband Richard of Johnstown; two granddaughters, Susann Ann Cooper of Johnstown and Toni Marie Rizio of Fonda; and one niece, Mary Beck of Palatine Bridge. On March 8, 1941, she married Patrick Rizio, who died on Feb. 24, 1979. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St., Johnstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Patrick Iannotti of Amsterdam will be celebrant. Burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home or JAVAC.

Gladys Walrath

Gladys Walrath, 101, formerly of 322 W. Clinton St., Johnstown, passed away Jan. 14 at the Edward Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam, where she had resided since March 1994. She was born on May 16, 1900 and was a lifelong area resident. She was first united in marriage to Carlson Brunt and later married Caleb Walrath, who passed away in 1957. Mrs. Walrath was a glove worker for various glove factories. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church and was a member of St. Monica Chapter No. 486 OES. Mrs. Walrath is survived by two daughters, Edna Ruch of Jamestown, N.Y. and Shirley DeSimone of Emerson, N.J.; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St., Johnstown, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.

Hilda Budlong

Mrs. Hilda Budlong, 94, of Brussels Road, Wells, N.Y., died Wednesday evening at the Hallmark Nursing Home in Rotterdam, N.Y. following a long illness. She was born on July 23, 1907 in Pittsfield, Mass. She was the daughter of Richard and Ethel Birchall Phair. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Wells United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Roland Budlong of Schenectady, N.Y.; one daughter, Lois Winslow of Edgewater, Fla.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, Matthew Budlong, whom she married in May of 1929, died on Nov. 2, 1990. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St., Northville, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Spring burial will take place at Algonquin Cemetery, Wells, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Wells United Methodist Church or Wells Ambulance Corps.

Rosina D'Antonino

Rosina D'Antonino, 77, of Johnson Avenue, Johnstown, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Jan. 16, at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was born on Dec. 4, 1924 in Johnstown, the daughter of Joseph and Antonia Pagano D'Antonino. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1943. She worked for 33 years as a payroll clerk for the former MCA Records in Gloversville and retired in 1987. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. She is survived by one sister, Frances Piraino of Johnstown; one niece, Antoinette Nellis of Gloversville; one nephew, Joseph D'Antonino of Gloversville; and several cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony D'Antonino, in 1973. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St., Johnstown. Prayer services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Johnstown. The Rev. Donald Czelusniak, pastor of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, will officiate. Entombment will take place in the family mausoleum in Mount Carmel Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

M. Eleanora Janeski

M. Eleanora Freightenburg Morck Janeski, 93, of Park Hill Adult Home, Amsterdam, and formerly of Northampton Road, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital shortly after being admitted. Mrs. Janeski was born on April 20, 1908 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Samuel J. and Elizabeth McMourn Freightenburg. She attended the former St. Joseph's School and graduated from St. Mary's Institute, both of Amsterdam. Mrs. Janeski was employed by Key Bank as a bookkeeper and later was a babysitter at the Amsterdam YMCA. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Amsterdam. Mrs. Janeski is survived by one son, J. Michael Morck and his wife Gay-Anita of Escondido, Calif.; three grandchildren, Peggy Morck Young of Mayfield, N.Y., Thomas M. Morck of Latham, N.Y. and J. Christopher Morck of Selkirk, N.Y.; one great-grandson, Nico Hutcherson of Mayfield, N.Y.; and her former daughter-in-law, Mary Morck Tower of Tribes Hill, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Janeski was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth J. Morck in 1967; her second husband, John S. Janeski in 1975; and three sisters, Frances Quandt, Elizabeth Vidulich and Miriam Woodson. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam. Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 156 E. Main St., Amsterdam. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fort Johnson, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Janeski's name may be made to Our Lady of the Snow, Sacred Heart League or St. Mary's Church Development Fund in care of the mortuary.

Leo Levi

Leo Levi, 74, of Main Street, Fultonville, N.Y., passed away Friday, Dec. 28, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after being struck by a motor vehicle on Wednesday. He was born on April 13, 1927 in Markt, Berolzheim, Germany, a son of Max and Lina Buelher Levi. He was a resident of Germany until he was 11. He lived in the New York City area and New Jersey for most of his young adult life. He attended high school in the Bronx, N.Y. at the Bronx High School of Science. He was a graduate of New York University earning his B.S. degree. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy. He was employed for over 20 years while living in Florida as a statistician for the state of Florida. He moved back to New York and New Jersey recently with his wife Reva, and finally lived in Fultonville, N.Y. He attended Believer's Fellowship Family of God Church in Johnstown, N.Y. He was a man of God and he loved much. He married the former Reva Briggs Rose after her husband Wilbur Rose passed away in 1987. They were married on Sept. 4, 1993. In addition to his wife, survivors include seven stepchildren; several step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and cousins also survive. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Faith Tabernacle, Warren Street, Johnstown, along with Believer's Fellowship Family of God Church. Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery in the spring with military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY 12072.

Janet M. Ormiston

Janet M. Ormiston, 68, of Stoneridge Landing, Inverness, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 17, at her residence under the care of her friends and Hospice of Citrus County. She was born on April 16, 1933 in New York to the late Clifford and Mildred Cotton. She moved to Inverness in 1964 from Rensselaer, N.Y. Mrs. Ormiston was the former owner/operator of a restaurant and one of the owners of The Leader-Herald newspaper in Gloversville, N.Y. She was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include two nieces, Linda Steele of Loudonville, N.Y. and Robin Belkavitch of Shodack Landing, N.Y.; one nephew, Donald Dawes of Averhill, N.Y.; five stepchildren; one step-grandchild; several friends including Pete and Gloria Wilson of Inverness, Fla.
