Mrs. Mary Vandeventer Bousman, 53, of Fish House Road, Galway, died
Monday at her home after a long illness.
Born in Fort Sill, Okla., Mrs. Bousman was raised in New Jersey and
was a 1965 graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a bachelor's degree in
psychology. In 1969, she earned a master's degree in education from Temple
University.
She was executive vice president of the Albany investment firm of C.L.
King Associates. Later, she was a research associate and administrative
assistant for the New Family Project at Skidmore College.
For many years, Mrs. Bousman served as chairman of the Town of Providence
Planning Board and on various committees for the Galway Central School
District.
She was active in the Galway Players, where she served as stage management
in other backstage capacities.
She married John Bousman in June of 1985.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Kristin
Vandeventer of Miami Lakes, Fla., and Karin Vandeventer of Cocoa, Fla.;
and her parents, Irv and Sylvia Olnek Engleman of Columbia, Md.
Calling hours will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Richard J. Ryan Funeral

John Kosiba
John L. Kosiba of State Highway 67, Amsterdam, died Monday evening at
his home.
Born in Amsterdam, he was the son of Joseph and Catherine Krygowski
Kosiba. He graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Amsterdam, and
was a lifelong area resident.
For several years, he was employed as a welder at Consolidated Diesel
in Schenectady. He also operated Kosiba's Lock Shop.
Mr. Kosiba was the builder of the world's largest working padlock, which
weighs 267 1/2 pounds and is currently on display at Ripley's Believe It
Or Not Museum in Orlando, Fla.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS
Miami as a Fireman 1st Class. He was awarded nine Bronze Stars.
Mr. Kosiba was a member of St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. He was a
member of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701, a life member
of VFW Post 55, a member of the Central New York State Locksmith Association
and the Lock Museum of America Inc.
He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Ceterski of Amsterdam.
In addition to his wife, Genevieve Rudzinski Kosiba, whom he married
Aug. 12, 1951, he is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Bowen of Broadalbin;
one son, Gary Kosiba of Amsterdam; one sister, Clara Gutowski of Latham;
one brother, Gilbert Kosiba of Amsterdam; three grandchildren and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9 a.m. at the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Interment will be held in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thomas Engle
Thomas J. Engle, 47, of Florida Avenue, Amsterdam, died suddenly Tuesday
afternoon from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born Nov. 5, 1949, in Amsterdam, he was the son of Jack and Rose Stuczko
Engle. He was a graduate of Perth Central Schools and attended the Modern
Welding School in Schenectady.
Mr. Engle was an Army veteran. He was employed as a pool assembler for
Pacific Ind., Scotia.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in
Amsterdam.
He was predeceased by his father, Jack.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a sister, Jude M. Engle
of Amsterdam; one niece, one nephew and several cousins.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the
family.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity
of one's choice.

Mary Muscatello
A graveside service for Mary Muscatello of High Point, N.C. formerly
of Amsterdam, who died June 17, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at
St. Michael's Cemetery with the Rev. James Gulley officiating. Local arrangements
are by the DeStefano Funeral Home.
Robert Bradt
Robert E. Bradt, 72, of Glebe Street, Johnstown, died Wednesday at the
Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital in Albany, after a long
illness.
Born in Rockwood, Mr. Bradt attended local schools.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled
American Veterans of Fulton County.
Mr. Bradt was a construction worker for the Schenectady Paving Company,
retiring in 1984. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 157 of Schenectady.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
His brother, Donald Bradt, died July 21.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Harper Bradt, whom he married July
12, 1946; a son, David Bradt of Gloversville; three daughters, Denise Kennedy
of Johnstown, Dorothy Dettenrieder of Rockwood and Robin Bradt of Saratoga
Springs; a brother, Walter Bradt of Johnstown; five sisters, Phyllis Putman
and Noreen Frank, both of Fonda, Mary Ellen Tuttle and Esther Hansen, both
of Johnstown and Marjorie Howe of Potsdam; six grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the A.G. Cole Funeral
Home, 215 E. Main St.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral
home.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.

Frank Novak
Frank J. Novak, 60, of Charlotte, N.C., died Wednesday at Carolina Medical
Center.
Mr. Novak was born June 13, 1936 in Amsterdam, a son of Anthony and
Bernice Draus Novak. He was educated in Amsterdam schools and was a veteran
of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Novak had been employed by Cott Beverages in Scotia and by Mohasco
Industries in Amsterdam. He then owned and operated a tractor trailer for
several years. Mr. Novak was currently employed as a shuttle driver by
E-Z Park of Charlotte, N.C.
On May 1, 1982, he married the former Marie O'Donnell who survives.
Also surviving are his father, Anthony Novak of Paramus, N.J., his daughter,
Pamela Novak of Amsterdam; two step-daughters, Debra A. Kilmartin of Johnstown
and Denise M. Empie of Johnstown; one brother, Stanley Novak Sr., of Amsterdam;
one sister, Clara Behuniak of Selkirk; three step-grandchildren; nieces,
nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a time and day to be announced by
the Johnson-Lindsay Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam.
There will be no calling hours.

Joseph Zupkevich
Joseph Zupkevich, 79, died Thursday at the Montgomery County Infirmary
after a long illness.
Born in Amsterdam, Mr. Zupkevich was a lifelong city resident.
For many years, he was a resident of Liberty Enterprises until moving
to the Infirmary in 1994.
Survivors include a nephew, Robert Caputo of Scotia; and a niece, Linda
Williams of Syracuse.
A service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the DeStefano Funeral Home,
Route 5S, Amsterdam.
Burial will be in St. Casimer's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Shirley Cottone
Mrs. Shirley Campbell Cottone, 57, of Emmett Street, Schenectady, died
Wednesday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
A lifelong Schenectady resident, Mrs. Cottone was a waitress for five
years for the Tic Tock Restaurant in Colonie.
Her husband of 27 years, George R. Cottone, died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Bruce W. Campbell of Marcy; a stepson, Jeffrey
P. Ladd of Schenectady; four daughters, Dominica A. Cottone and Candace
M. Weaver, both of Schenectady, Pearl J. Cassillo of Scotia, and Brenda
L. Olechowski of Amsterdam; a sister, Linda Cladd of Albany; a brother,
Kenneth J. Campbell of Florida; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park Abbey.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie.
A calling hour will be held prior to the service at the abbey.

Bruce Leibold
Bruce c. Leibold, 64, of Fayville Road, Galway, died Thursday at home
after a long illness.
Born May 28, 1932 in Bowling Green Ohio, Mr. Leibold was a graduate
of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio. He lived in Galway for the past
nine years.
Mr. Leibold was a career Navy man, serving during the Korean and Vietnam
wars before retiring in 1970.
After his military service, he was a data communications and marketing
specialist for the General Electric Company and several other companies,
retiring in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine "Murph" LaFountain Leibold; a son,
Bruce C. Leibold Jr., serving with the Navy in Oklahoma City; two daughters,
Lisa Bouchard of Scotia and Tracey Hay of Burnt Hills; two brothers, Robert
G. Leibold of Monroe, Va., and Richard L. Leibold of Kingman, Ariz.; two
sisters, Janice L. Koby and Barbara L. McDonnell, both of Vero Beach, Fla.;
and seven grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at West Charlton United Presbyterian
Church, Routes 147 and 67.
Burial will be in Galway Cemetery.

Vivian "Fannie" Gardner
Mrs. Vivian "Fannie" Gardner, 81, of North Main Street, Northville,
died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a long
illness.
Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, Mrs. Gardner came to this country at age
5 and was educated in Broadalbin.
She was a resident of Northville for 58 years.
For many years, Mrs. Gardner was a glove maker for Serfis Glove Company
and lastly for Perrella Glove Company, before retiring.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Northville.
Her husband, William R. Gardner, whom she married Oct. 8, 1932, died
in 1983.
Survivors include three sons, Donald R. Gardner of Cohoes, Fred C. Gardner
of Las Vegas, and Gary L. Gardner of Linwood, N.J.; a daughter, Janet Eschler
of Northville; a brother, Frank Ryfa of Vail Mills; a sister, Emma Warner
of Mayfield; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Northville Funeral
Home, 401Bridge St.
Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
