Edward Blowers, 86, of the Fulton County Infirmary, Gloversville, died
Monday at the infirmary following a long illness.
Born July 9, 1910 in Mayfield, he was the son of Leonard and Edna Robbins
Blowers. Mr. Blowers resided in Mayfield and Gloversville most of his life
and also lived in Niagara Falls.
He was a laborer with a shipyard company in Niagara Falls for several
years. He retired many years ago.
Me attended the Fremont Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville.
Survivors include his sisters, Mabel B. Dingman of Gloversville; and
Ila Vosburgh of Pinellas Park, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Walrath
and Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the
Rev. Erik L. Smith, pastor of the Fremont Street United Methodist Church,
officiating. Spring burial will be at King-Northampton Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Emily Podolec
Mrs. Emily M. Podolec, 83, of Edward Street, Amsterdam, died Monday
afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital following a long illness.
Born Feb. 6, 1913 in Amsterdam, she was a daughter of the late Michael
and Sophia Kwarta Slezak. She was educated locally and was a lifelong area
resident.
She was employed by Mohawk Carpet Co. and later she worked for the Edy
Brush Co. before retiring in 1978.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and its Rosary Society.
She married Anthony P. Pololec on June 1, 1935.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Robert Podolec
of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Stacia Hiatt of Cedar Park, Texas; Helen
Machinski of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Joseph Slezak and Steve Slezak,
both of Amsterdam; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Recitation of the Rosary
will be at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Millie Buryn
Mrs. Millie E. Cymbalist Buryn, 84, of Princeton Building Unit 208,
St. Petersburg, Fla., died Sunday following a long illness.
Born May 12, 1912 in Ukraine, she was the daughter of John and Tessie
Chorny Cymbalist.
She came from the Ukraine to New York City in 1930 and later to Somerville,
N.J., until moving to St. Petersburg in 1970.
Mrs. Buryn was employed as a dress maker with the Ruth's Fashion, St.
Petersburg, Fla, until her retirement.
She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church,
St. Petersburg.
Her first husband, William Buryn, died Oct. 11, 1984. She later married
Harry F. Kobran of St. Petersburg, Fla., on June 14, 1988.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Natalie Negrich
of Broadalbin; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jeffords
Chapel, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Timothy Mangin officiating.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at St. Basil's Ukrainian Cemetery.
Ronald Dawson
Ronald P. Dawson, 59, of Castle Road, Newport, died Sunday while working
in the woods in the Town of Norway.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. Dawson was a graduate of Scotia High School
and Wanakena Ranger School.
In 1959, he began his career at the Department of Environmental Conservation
and transferred to the Herkimer office in 1972. Currently, he was serving
as an operations supervisor for the New York State EnCon Region 6 at Herkimer.
Mr. Dawson was a member of St. John's Church.
He married Susan Ambrose Dawson on Aug. 31, 1991.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Wendy Nightingale
of Fort Plain; a son, David Dawson of Middleville; his parents, Vedder
and Laura King Dawson of Scotia; a sister, Nancy Glindmyer of Scotia; and
four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at St.
John's Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Autenrith
Funeral Home, 7479 Main St., Newport.

David Alexander
David Lawrence Alexander, 32 of Macedon, died Friday after a year-long
battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 10, 1964 in Newport, Vt., he was the son of Frederic and Frances
Gosselin Alexander.
He was a graduate of Broadalbin High School and the State University
of New York College at Morrisville and Oswego, with a bachelor of science
degree in computer science.
Mr. Alexander was the recipient of the 1996 New York State Victory Spirit
Award from the American Cancer Society.
He was employed by CitiBank in Macedon.
He was also the 1991 Rochester Men's Racquetball Champion and was an
avid golfer.
He was married to Victoria Driscoll Alexander.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include a brother, Mark
F. Alexander of Schenectady; a sister, Susan F. Avondolio of West Chester,
Ohio; and three nieces, one nephew; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at St.
Joseph's Church in Broadalbin. Burial will take place in Irasburg, Vt.
Calling hours were conducted in Macedon.

Ophelia Grybos
Mrs. Ophelia Grybos, 82, of McCleary Avenue, Amsterdam, died Tuesday
evening at home after a long illness.
Born May 7, 1914 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Joseph
and Anna Rosiorowski Mruczek. She was educated locally and was a lifelong
city resident.
She was a glovemaker and machinist at Amsterdam Glove Co. for many years
before retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church and also of St. Stanislaus
Church.
She married Stanley W. Grybos Sr. on Sept. 7, 1935. He died Aug. 2,
1954.
Mrs. Grybos was pre-deceased by a son, Robert S. Grybos Sr., on Nov.
21, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna DePalma of Amsterdam; two sons,
Lawrence M. Grybos of Plattsburgh and Stanley W. Grybos Jr. of Amsterdam;
a sister, Tessie Klapmeyer of Minaville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren
and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Herbert Lott
Herbert J. Lott, 56, of County Route 107, Amsterdam, died Tuesday at
Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after being stricken.
Born Dec. 26, 1939, he was the son of Everett and Nicholina Parillo
Lott. Mr. Lott was a lifelong area resident.
He was educated locally and was a 1958 graduate of Amsterdam High School.
He was employed at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady until retiring
in 1978.
Mr. Lott was a member of the Perth Volunteer Fire Department for the
past 25 years. He held the office of first assistant fire chief for several
years; was currently serving on the board of directors for the fire department
and since 1984 has been the deputy fire coordinator for the Fulton County
Civil Defense Fire Coordinator's Office. He also is a member of the Johnstown
Order of the Moose.
Mr. Lott was a member of the Church of St. John The Baptist.
He was married to Gertrude Sawitzki Lott for 37 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Biega
of Schenectady and Laura Romanowicz of Amsterdam; a sister, Theresa Morrello
of Las Vegas; two granddaughters, Allison and Amanda Biega both of Schenectady;
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Amsterdam
Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9 a.m. at the church of St. John the Baptist. Interment will be in St.
John's Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral
home.

Earl Greenfield
Earl E. Greenfield Jr., 67, of Montgomery Street, Gloversville, died
Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Johnstown, Mr. Greenfield was educated in Gloversville.
He was a leather worker for the Ellithorp Tanning Co. and later worked
for Leavitt-Berner Tanning Corp. until retiring.
He married Nellie Ferguson Greenfield in June of 1995.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Barbara Freese
of Johnstown; three grandsons and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the A.G. Cole
Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral

Elizabeth Belknap
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Belknap, 72, of North Market Street, Johnstown, died
Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after being stricken
at home.
Born in Bellows Falls, Vt,, Mrs. Belknap was a graduate of Leland Gray
Seminary in Vermont and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York
City.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Church.
Mrs. Belknap was also a member of the Silhouette Card Club.
She was married to Perley H. Belknap.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four daughters, the Rev.
Jill Eads of Las Vegas, Mary Ellen Terry of Johnstown, Karen Hartlieb of
Canajoharie and Heide Ambrosino of Mayfield; eight sons, Jack Belknap of
Amsterdam, Peter and William Belknap both of Pearland, Texas, James Belknap
of Johnstown, Brian Belknap of Gloversville, Robert Belknap of Las Vegas,
Paul Belknap of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and Philip Belknap of Killeen, Texas;
three brothers, Richard Moore of Springfield, Vt. and Robert Moore of Sprout
Brook and Thomas Moore of Michigan; 34 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St.
Anthony's Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Joan Wilson
Mrs. Joan D. Wilson, 66, of Mountain Road, Mayfield, died Tuesday at
Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after a long illness.
Born and educated in Buffalo, Mrs. Wilson lived in Mayfield for the
past 50 years.
She worked for Coleco Industries at one time.
She married Cola Wilson on Jan. 15, 1949.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons, Michael Wilson
Sr. and Terry Wilson Sr., both of Mayfield, Malcolm Wilson Sr. of Gloversville,
and Charles Wilson of Washington; two daughters, Deanne Deming of Mayfield
and Zella Allen of Gloversville; three brothers, Charles Bushen of Schenectady,
Donald Bushen of Buffalo and Paul Bushen of Florida; 30 grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Northville
Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St., Northville. Burial will be in King Cemetery,
Northampton.

John Lalik
John R. Lalik, 83, of South Gray Road, Connersville, Ind., died Tuesday
at Fayette Memorial Hospital after an illness of five years.
Born July 13, 1913 in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of Albert Lalik
and Mary Kanior.
Mr. Lakik was employed as a Teamster Union truck driver for more than
30 years retiring in 1980.
He lived in Connersville since 1989 and previously lived in Canajoharie.
He is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Connersville and was
a member of the Moose Lodge in Connersville.
He married Stella J. Czerkies on May 25, 1940 in Utica.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Joan Augustine
of Connersville, Ind.; two sisters, Stella Wasko of Stratford, Conn., Helen
Krutz of Fort Plain; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the
St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Connersville with the Rev. Stan Herber officiating.
Spring burial will take place in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery in Canajoharie.

in Connersville.

Michael Costisick
Michael Costisick, 51, of Horizon View Drive, East Greenbush, died Tuesday
after a short illness at St. Peter's Hospice.
Born in Auburn, Mr. Costisick was a resident of the Capital District
most of his life. He grew up in Amsterdam.
He was an enginner with IBM in Albany for more than 30 years. He was
the Exalted Ruler for the Rensselaer Elks lodge 2073. He was an avid dart
player and a member of the local church dart league and was also a member
of the Rensselaer Elks Golf League.
Mr. Costisick was married to Virginia Morse Costisick.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Helen Kapcha
Costisick of Rhinebeck; three daughters, Ginny L. Morse, Missy S. Morse
and Haley B. Costisick, all of East Greenbush, a brother, John Costisick
of Poughkeepsie, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the William
J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer.
Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Benny Sagaitis
Benny P. Sagaitis, 78, of McDonnell Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday
evening at his home after being stricken.
Born Nov. 21, 1917 in Amsterdam, he was a son of Matthew and Mary Sagaitis.
He was a lifelong resident and attended local schools.
He was employed as a storekeeper for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for
more than 25 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Sagaitis served with the
U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a communicant of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church.
His wife, the former Mildred Moselewski, died March 11, 1994. He was
pre-deceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Wright, on July 12, 1992.
Mr. Sagaitis is survived by a son, Thomas M. Sagaitis of Johnstown and
his daughter-in-law, Rosanne Sagaitis, also of Johnstown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rossi
Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:15 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ingrid Donahue
Ingrid M. Donahue, 72, of Anderson Road, Sprakers, died Wednesday evening
at home.
Born April 8, 1924 in Koingburg, Germany, she was the daughter of Professor
Willy J. Resky and Martha Wiemer. She came to the United States when she
was 6 years old and came to this area in 1968 from the Bronx. She was educated
in New York City Schools and graduated from the Conservatory School of
Music in Brooklyn and attended the Juliard School of Music in New York
City, where she received a degree in composing and choir directing.
For many years she was an organ and piano teacher in New York City and
Randall retiring in 1994.
She was a member of the Fultonville Reformed Church and was the church
organist and choir director for 18 years.
She also played organ at many area churches.
She married Ronald P. Donahue on May 6, 1968.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a sister, Ruth Foster
of Calicuan and four nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Jackson
& Betz Funeral Home 15 Main St., Fultonville.
Burial in Maple Avenue Cemtery Fultonville.
Calling hours are from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
