Isabella Romano, 79, died Nov. 28 at Jupiter Hospital, Fla., following
a short illness.
Born Aug. 9, 1917 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Peter and Theresa
Audi Giaquinto. She was raised and educated in Amsterdam schools and had
resided in Boynton Beach, Fla., for 26 years.
She was married to Joseph "Shep" Romano, who died in September, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Romano of Jupiter, Fla., a daughter,
Mary Jo Guido of Delray, Fla., a brother, Robert Giaquinto of Amsterdam,
three sisters, Olympia Vottis of Schenectady and Lena Scarofile and Celia
Stoddard, both of Amsterdam.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital,
Nashville, Tenn.
Christopher Obenhoff
Christopher Michael Obenhoff, son of Ryan and Jennifer Sowa Obenhoff
of Scotia, died at birth Tuesday at Bellevue Women's Hospital in Niskayuna.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his paternal grandparents,
William and Tess Obenhoff of Bleecker; his maternal grandparents, John
and Virginia Sowa of White Oak, Pa.; maternal great-grandmother, Veronica
Sowa of White Oak; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private graveside services will be conducted at the Bleecker Cemetery
today at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Charles W. Saum officiating.
Arrangements are by the Walrath and Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., Gloversville.

Harold Remington
Harold W. Remington, 79, of West Fulton Street, Johnstown, died Wednesday
at home after a long illness.
Mr. Remington was born and educated in Gloversville and moved to Johnstown
in 1980.
He worked for Mohawk Avenue Garage in Scotia for more than 40 years,
retiring in 1978 as service manager.
He married Katherine "Kay" Davenport Remington on Oct. 23, 1937.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Richard Remington
of Schenectady and Arthur Remington of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Carolyn
Kellogg of Queensbury; a sister, Evelyn Gould of Arlington, Texas; 12 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services or calling hours.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville.

Madeleine Wilmot
Madeleine May Wilmot, 85, of East Main Street, Fonda, died Tuesday at
St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a short illness.
Born Aug. 9, 1911 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Edward and Cora
Nolan Brennen. She was educated in Amsterdam schools and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Wilmot was a member of the Fonda Reformed Church. where she taught
Sunday School. She was a member of the Women's Guild and a junior choir
instructor for 15 years. She was the first Woman Elder at the Church and
was a founding member of the Glen Mohawk Seniors, where she was the chaplain
and treasurer for several years.
She played piano for many years at the church and at many area nursing
homes.
Her husband, William Milton Wilmot, whom she married Aug. 29, 1931,
died Aug 2, 1970. She was predeceased by a son, Robert E. Wilmot, in 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald R. Wilmot of Fonda and Roger M. Wilmot
of Fort Johnson; three daughters, Roberta Jane Cuozzo of Amsterdam, Kathleen
Vrooman of Amityville and Madeline M. Wiedman of Warrensburg; a sister,
Anna Bishop of Cohoes; a half-sister, Geraldine Cremen of Fort Johnson;
21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, one aunt and one cousin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fonda Reformed
Church Broadway, Fonda; with Pastor Karen Patterson officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Jackson & Betz Funeral
Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville.

Mary Frasier
Ms. Mary E. Frasier, 88, formerly of Jay Street, Gloversville, died
Wednesday at the Fulton County Infirmary after a long illness.
Born in Cranberry Creek, Ms. Frasier worked in the dietary kitchen department
at Nathan Littauer Hospital, retiring in 1965.
Ms. Frasier was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Her husband, Arthur Therrien, whom she married in 1928, died in 1977.
Survivors include a son, Martin Therrien of Massachusetts; two daughters,
Margaret Miller White of Gloversville and Lois Meyers of Schoharie; a brother,
John Frasier of Broadalbin; six sisters, Isabel White of Amsterdam, Susan
Danylaka and Abbey Frasier, both of Gloversville; Mildred Sleazer and Nellie
Grandy both of Palatine Bridge, and Florence Simonds of Meco; 19 grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Amico
Funeral Home, 150 S. Main St. Spring burial will be in Chuctanunda Cemetery,
Minaville.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Loretta Voorhees
Mrs. Loretta C. Voorhees, 81, of Rickard Road, Schoharie, died Tuesday
at the Eden Park Nursing Home in Cobleskill after a long illness.
Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Voorhees lived in New Jersey before moving
to the area in 1991.
Her husband, Victor Voorhees, died in 1994.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Keidong of Schoharie, Patricia
Yager of Amsterdam and Kathryn Bavosi of Farmingdale, N.J.; a brother,
John Grasberger of Toms River, N.J., five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cremation was at the Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley.

Charles Wadsworth
Charles E. Wadsworth, 67, of Ridge Road, Northville, died Tuesday at
Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after being stricken at home.
A lifelong resident, Mr. Wadsworth was a 1947 graduate of Northville
Central School. He was a logger and also worked for the Paul Bradt Construction
Co. for more than 30 years.
He married Julia Bovee Wadsworth on April 28, 1949.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Charles James Wadsworth
of Delray Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Cheri McNamara of Jupiter, Fla. and
Marilyn Wadsworth of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Wadsworth
of Broadalbin and Michael O'Neil of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. Spring burial will be in Prospect
Hill Cemetery.

Kevin Porath
Kevin Porath, 35, of Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, died Wednesday afternoon
at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after being stricken.
Born March 21, 1961 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Oscar and Lynda
Covey Porath. He was a 1979 graduate of Amsterdam High School and lived
here all his life.
He was very active in sports in the community, playing for various softball
and basketball teams and most recently for Russo's Grill softball team.
At one time he was the junior varsity basketball coach for Perth Central
School and was a CYO basketball referee.
Mr. Porath was employed at one time as a driver for UPS and The Recorder.
For the past several years he was employed in the same capacity for Damiano's
Flowers in Amsterdam. He was also a member of the Amsterdam YMCA.
Survivors include his parents of Amsterdam; his fiance, Gina Leggiero
of Amsterdam; a brother, David Porath, also of Amsterdam; a sister, Cindy
Vitus of Hagaman; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Covey
of Amsterdam; and a niece, nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Rolinda Porath, on Dec. 27, 1994.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:15 a.m.
at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours are today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home,
11 Mohawk Place.

Adelaide Titus
Adelaide Rachel Titus, 80, formerly of 41 James St., Gloversville, died
Thursday at the Fulton County Infirmary where she lived since July.
Born Jan. 30, 1916 in Newport, she was the daughter of Raymond and Rachel
Schriner Rathbun. Mrs. Titus resided in Gloversville most of her life and
attended Gloversville schools and received her GED in 1970.
She and her daughter owned and operated Adelaide's and Jean's Draperies
and Slip Covers in Gloversville. Mrs. Titus was involved in the business
for 55 years until last year. Her daughter still operates the business.
She also previously taught slipcover making in the Continuing Education
Department at Mayfield Central School for several years.
Mrs. Titus is a member of the Gloversville Women of the Moose, AARP,
and was past district manager of the March of Dimes for 10 years.
She is survived by two sons, Roger T. Titus of Great Missenden, England,
and James B. Titus of LaFargeville; two daughters, Jean T. Krause of Gloversville
and Roxann M. Koon of Spring City, Tenn.; two sisters, Agnes Tierney of
Herkimer and Edith James of Rome; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson;
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Walrath
& Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the
Rev. Wendell H. Elmendorf Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the spring
at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral
home.

June Voorhees
Mrs. June Voorhees, 74, of Trackside Homes, Johnstown, died Wednesday
at the Fulton County Infirmary after a long illness.
Mrs. Voorhees was born and educated in Amsterdam.
She was a custodial aide for Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville
and retired in 1983 from the former Johnstown Hospital.
Also, Mrs. Voorhees worked for a short time in New York State's Green
Thumb Program.
She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Voorhees was a member of the 50 Plus Senior Citizens; Johnstown
Women of the Moose; and a former member of the Court Pinta Chapter of the
Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She married John Voorhees on April 27, 1957. He died in 1970.
Survivors include a nephew, David Bain of Mechanicville; and several
cousins.
A prayer service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Barter
and Donnan Funeral Home, corner of Main and Melcher streets, and at 11
a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated. Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Bromirski
Mary "Mayme" Bromirski, 89, of Ocala, Fla., died Dec. 5 at the Munroe
Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
She was born Sept. 27, 1907, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Jacob and
Mary Magdaline Ciulik Gomulka. She lived in Amsterdam and Albany before
moving to Florida in 1986.
She was a retired secretary for the state Department of Transportation.
Mrs. Bromirski was of the Roman Catholic faith and a lifetime member
of the Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus Church.
Survivors include a son, James B. Bromirski of Ocala, Fla.; several
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Bromirski,
who died in 1971; and her brother, former Amsterdam Mayor John P. Gomulka.
Funeral services were Dec. 9 at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church
in Ocala, Fla.

Marilyn Kiernan
Marilyn Kiernan, 64, of Haskell Street, Hagaman, died Friday at St.
Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.
She was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Daniel and
Harriet Stocky Horgan. She was educated in Brooklyn and later moved to
Long Island before moving to the Hagaman area in 1982.
Mrs. Kiernan was a bookkeeper at one time and was also a homemaker.
She was a member and past secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary
Post 1015 in Amityville. She also made various gifts for Parents for Special
Children Inc. on Long Island.
She was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, B'Ann P. Roth of Copiague and Deborah
Mathias of Hagaman; and a grandson, Daniel Mathias of Hagaman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the
Church of St. John the Baptist.
Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Donald Roy
Donald G. Roy, 80, of Henry Street, Amsterdam, died Friday at home after
being stricken.
He was born in Amsterdam Dec. 30, 1915, the son of George and Katherine
Smith Roy. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident.
Mr. Roy was educated in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate
of Amsterdam High School. He attended Union College in Schenectady and
was a 1949 graduate of Albany Law School.
He was an associate with the law firm of Felix J. Aulisi. He later was
staff attorney in real estate law for the state of New York. Most recently
he had his own law office on Mohawk Place.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Europe. He was a member of
the state bar association and the Montgomery County Bar Association, the
James T. Bergen VFW Post 39, St. Mary's Church and the parish's Holy Name
Society.
He is survived by two nephews, James Calkins of Media, Pa., and Donald
Calkins of Prescott, Ariz.
Funeral services are Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary Inc.,
110 Division St., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Esther Butkus
Esther Butkus, 75, formerly of the Roosevelt Apartments, Wall Street,
Amsterdam, died Friday evening at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care
Facility.
