Margaret E. Dunlop, 72, died Feb. 12 at the Jupiter Medical Center,
Jupiter, Fla.
Born in Bessemer, Ala., Mrs. Dunlop was a long-time resident of Lake
Pleasant.
Mrs. Dunlop was married to the late William McCleary Dunlop. She and
her husband were the former owners of Dunlop Marine Services in Lake Pleasant,
and for a number of years were the operators of the Lake Pleasant Golf
Club and the Oak Mountain Ski Area.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Isabelle D. Harris of Amsterdam
and Lake Pleasant, a nephew, John David Reynolds, and three nieces Margaret
L. Visscher of Tribes Hill, Karen Ambrosino and Martha Kearns.
Memorial services will be conducted at a date to be announced.

Amelia Cassella
Mrs. Amelia Cassella, 84, of Herkimer, formerly of East German Street
Ext., died Monday in the Valley Health Services.
Born Nov. 1, 1912 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Nicholas and
Mary Grace Peiruccelli Liggero. She was educated in local schools.
Mrs. Cassella was employed as a floor lady for Derby Sportswear in Herkimer
for many years and was later employed by Focus Dress Shop, Little Falls,
until her retirement in 1977. She was a communicant of the Church of Sts.
Anthony and Joseph and a member of the I.L.G.W.U., a member and past president
of the Anthony R. George Post No. 6 Auxiliary serving from 1972 to 1973.
She was also a former member of the Herkimer Hospital Guild Card Club and
the Herkimer Senior Citizens.
She married Joseph A. Cassella on Aug. 4, 1935 in Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Church in Amsterdam. He died Jan. 23, 1994.
Mrs. Cassella is survived by her daughter, Angelina Wiliczka of Herkimer;
two brothers, Albert Liggero and Alfred Liggero, both of Amsterdam; one
sister, Celia Quini of Amsterdam; three great-grandchildren; and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Anne, in 1943.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Petykiewicz,
Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and
at 10 a.m. in the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph where a Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Shinos, pastor. Spring interment
will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Members of the Anthony R. George Post Auxiliary will meet Wednesday at
7 p.m. at the funeral home for services.
A memorial fund will be established at a later date. Envelopes for this
fund will be available in the funeral home.
Robert Phillips
Robert J. Phillips, 78, of LaCosta Drive, Clifton Park, died Monday
in Columbia Medical Center, Ocala, Fla., after being stricken.
Born in Albany, he was the son of George F. and Emma Roeper Phillips.
Mr. Phillips graduated from the Roesselville High School in Colonie and
lived in Colonie and Guilderland before moving to Clifton Park.
He entered the Army during World War II and became staff sergeant with
the 31st Infantry where he was squad leader. He served in Europe and was
awarded the Purple Heart and Combat Infantrymans Badge.
After the war he was employed by the General Electric Co., first as
a machinist and then specialist engineer for most of his career, holding
several patents at the company. He retired in 1976 after 36 years with
G.E.
An inventor, Mr. Phillips designed the country's first "pop-up" travel
camper, which a year later became mass produced.
He married the former Shirley J. Brown of Amsterdam on April 11, 1964.
He was a member of the VFW Post 1498 in Clifton Park-Halfmoon. He was
also a member of the Inverness United Methodist Church in Florida.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Richard G. Phillips
of Guilderland; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glenville
Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. Interment will take place in
Memory's Garden, Colonie.
Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Gertrude Bellen
Mrs. Gertrude Majewski Bellen, 80, formerly of Storrie Street, Amsterdam,
died Tuesday afternoon at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care
Facility following a long illness.
Born on Feb. 6, 1917 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Joseph and
Rose Golusinski Majewski, and was a lifelong resident.
She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Amsterdam Memorial
Hospital for 30 years, retiring several years ago.
Mrs. Bellen was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
She married Rocco Bellen on Feb. 6, 1937. He died in 1993.
Survivors include a sister, Regina Golab of Amsterdam; and several nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Betz Funeral
Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, with the Rev. James Gulley officiating.
Cremation will be at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady, followed by inurnment
in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are from from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Megan Kelly
Megan E. Kelly, 18, of Frasier Avenue, Johnstown, died Monday at home.
Born in Gloversville, Miss Kelly was a senior at Johnstown High School.
She was a member of the varsity girls field hockey team.
Miss Kelly was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Survivors include her parents, James and Kathrine Kelly; two sisters,
Erin and Erica Kelly, both of Johnstown; two brothers, Michael and Patrick
Kelly, both of Johnstown; and her paternal grandmother, Helen Kelly of
Johnstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. this morning
at St. Patrick's Church, Clinton Street. Spring burial will be in St. Patrick's
Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Megan E. Kelly Scholarship
Fund in care of Johnstown High School.

Elizabeth Hall
Elizabeth M. Hall, 80, a resident of the Wilkinson Residential Health
Care Facility, Amsterdam, died Wednesday at the facility after a long illness.
Born July 25, 1916 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Henry and Pauline
Masarik Billa.
Mrs. Hall graduated from Johnstown High School. She was employed as
a glove worker with the Gates Mills in Johnstown, retiring in 1981. Mrs.
Hall was an avid bowler, belonging to many leagues throughout the area.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She married Willis W. Hall on Sept. 27, 1935. He died May 17, 1976.
Survivors include two sons, William W. Hall and Robert D. Hall, both
of Gloversville; two brothers, Henry Billa of Caroga Lake, and Robert Billa
of Venice, Fla.; three sisters, Louise Pavlik of Florida, Helen Riska of
Michigan and Judith Vorhees of Fonda; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Walrath
& Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with R.W.
Williams officiating. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville,
in the spring.

Delbert Baker
Delbert G. Baker, 85, a resident of the Palatine Nursing Home, formerly
of Robinson Street, Canajoharie, died Tuesday at the nursing home following
a long illness.
Born Feb. 18, 1912 in Canajoharie, he was the son of Luke Baker and
Edna Dusler. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School.
For many years, Mr. Baker was the proprietor of Baker Bros. Dairy in
Canajoharie. He also owned Baker's Texaco Gas Station in Fort Plain and
also worked for the Arkell & Smith Sack Factory in Canajoharie and
at the Canajoharie Central School District as a bus driver.
Mr. Baker was a lifelong area resident and lived at the nursing home
since 1993.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Baker was a charter member of the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department,
a member of the Canajoharie Volunteer Department Exempts; a member of the
Hamilton Lodge F&AM and a former member of the Odd Fellows.
He married Gertrude A. Glenar on Oct. 20, 1934 in St. Johnsville. She
died July 27, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary H. Miller of Canajoharie; a son,
John H. Baker of Canajoharie; a brother, Donald Baker of St. Johnsville;
a sister, Doris Nellis of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a grandson, a granddaughter,
a great-grandchild and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Houghtaling
& Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, with Pastor John
Omans officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Johnsville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home, during which the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department will have
a service at 7 p.m. and the Masons will have a service at 7:30 p.m.

Jerome "Jerry" Morgan
Jerone Morgan, 69, of Houseman Street, Northville, died Wednesday at
his home after a long illness.
Born in New York City, Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Pearl River High
School. He attended Rockland County Community College. He moved to Northville
in 1972.
Mr. Morgan was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed as the supervisor of the maintenance department for
Ciba-Geigy in Rockland County. He later owned and operated the Edinburg
General Store, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Morgan was a life member and past commander of the Naurashank American
Legion Post 794 in Nanuet. He was the past institutional representative
of the Boy Scouts in Nanuet.
He married Jane Dailey Morgan on Oct. 4, 1947.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Robert Morgan of Edinburg;
two daughters, Gayle Stiffey and Barbara Morgan, both of Edinburg; two
brothers, George Morgan of Nanuet and Warren Morgan of West Nyack; a sister,
Gloria Liptak of Montpelier, Vt.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Northville
Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St. Spring burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Leona Preston
Mrs. Leona M. Preston, 92, of Johnstown, died Tuesday at the Fulton
County Infirmary following a long illness.
Born in South Colton, Mrs. Preston attended schools in Parishville.
She moved to the Johnstown area in 1928.
Mrs. Preston was employed as a nurse's aide for several years before
retiring in 1967 from the former VanLone Nursing Home.
She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church and was active
in its Women of the Kitchen group for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Preston is survived by four sons, Darrell Preston of Phoenix, Az.,
Theodore Preston of Gloversville, Keith Preston of Oneonta and Ronald Preston
of Johnstown; two sisters, Alice Rodwell and Maefred McCarthy, both of
Colton; a brother, Gerald Hutchison of Rochester; 21 grandchildren; 33
great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the A.G. Cole
Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery
in Fonda.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

John "Jack" Hulsaver
John R. Hulsaver, 56, of FonClair Street, Johnstown, died Tuesday at
Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, after being stricken.
Born in Johnstown, Mr. Hulsaver attended schools in Oppenheim. He was
the owner and operator of Jack's Auto Body in Ephratah at the time of his
death. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Hulsaver of Sylvania, Ala.; five daughters,
Linda Brooker of Johnstown, Kathy Passino of Englewood, Fla., Diane Hulsaver
of Mayfield, Colleen Wheeler of Gloversville and Holly Hulsaver of Cleveland,
Tenn.; four sons, John Hulsaver of Ooltewah, Tenn., James and Ronald of
New Port Richie, Fla., and Edward Hulsaver of Johnstown; three step-children,
James Davis of Sylvania, Ala., Darrell Davis of Gloversville and Dereda
Davis of Oldsmar, Fla.; a brother, James Hulsaver of Saratoga Springs;
three sisters, Barbara Pugliese of Little Falls and Cheryl Harwood and
Melissa Newton, both of Oceanside, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the A.G. Cole
Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown. Spring burial will take place
in Rockwood Cemetery in Ephratah.

Gladys Waldron
Mrs. Gladys Waldron, 75, of Middleburgh, formerly of Greenville and
Westerlo, died Tuesday at Robinson Terrace in Stamford.
Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Waldron and her husband operated the Blue Churn
Country Store in South Westerlo from 1961 to 1991.
Mrs. Waldron was a member of the Freehold Literary Club for more than
50 years.
She was a member of the Freehold Congregational Christian Church.
Her first husband, Howard Adriance, died in 1985.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Waldron; a son, Howard Adriance
Jr. off Wells, Maine; two daughters, Nancy Wais of Ravena and Sally Reed
of Clarence; two stepchildren; Carole Bates of Medusa and John Waldron
of Middleburgh; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.
Lawrence St. John
Lawrence J. St. John, (SanGiovanni) 82, of Saratoga Road, Glenville,
died Wednesday at the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia, after a long
illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. St. John was a graduate of the old Schenectady
High School, Class of 1932.
From the early 1940s until its closing, he was a foreman at the former
American Locomotive Co.
After that, Mr. St. John was a foreman in General Electric's Steam Turbine
Division, retiring in 1985.
He lived in Schenectady until moving to Glenville in 1960.
Mr. St. John later moved to Clifton Park, returning to Glenville in
1986.
He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in
Schenectady.
He married Cora E. Coppola St. John, on Aug. 24, 1940.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Lawrence St. John
Jr. of Olivebridge; a daughter, Claudia K. St. John of Delanson; two sisters,
Mollie Sabatini and Edith DeCesare, both of Schenectady; two brothers,
Joseph St. John of Tampa, Fla., and Victor St. John of Schenectady.
Cremation will take place at the Vale Crematory with burial at a later
date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Pultneyville.

Anthony Kindl
Anthony R. Kindl, 92, formerly of Mannys Corners Road, Amsterdam, died
Wednesday evening at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility
where he had been a resident for the past 1 1/2 years.
Born May 2, 1904 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Ignacious and Frances
Habla Kindl and was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed as an electrical engineer by the General Electric Co.
in Schenectady, retiring in 1967.
Mr. Kindl was a ham radio operator, and had the first crystal radio
in Amsterdam.
He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church of Hagaman.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane F. Izzano in 1993.
He was first married in 1927 to Emma B. Jalette. She died in 1972. In
1973, he was married to Beatrice C. Jalette. She survives.
Mr. Kindl is also survived by three sons, Robert J. Kindl of Hadley,
Richard E. Kindl of Clifton Park, and William G. Kindl of Osburn, Idaho;
15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday
at St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. The interment will be in Hagaman Cemetery
in the spring.
