Terry Lynn Rabine, 37, of Lake Havasu City, Az., and formerly of Hudson
Falls, died Thursday at her mother's home in Hudson Falls following a long
illness.
Born July 10, 1959, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Shirley
Dygert of Hudson Falls and Richard L. Dygert, a former Canajoharie/Fort
Plain resident. She moved to Arizona in 1995.
Mrs. Rabine graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1977 and the
University of Maine in 1979.
While living in the Hudson Falls area, she worked at the Clifton Park
Animal Hospital and also the office of Dr. Robert Sharpe of Glens Falls.
She moved to Arizona in 1995.
She married Michael F. Rabine on Oct. 4, 1986 in Glens Falls.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Church
of Glens Falls.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include two sons, Alexander
Michael Rabine and Daniel Richard Rabine, both of Lake Havasu City, Az.;
two sisters, Robin A. Dygert-Clifford of Bolton Landing and Marla L. Dygert
of Hudson Falls; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's
Cemetery in Fort Edward, with the Rev. William Eberle, pastor of the Lutheran
Church of the Good Shepherd, officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity
of one's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Carleton Funeral Home Inc.,
68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
Guiseppe "Pepe" Terricola
Guiseppe Terricola, 94, of 5049 Route 29, St. Johnsville, died Thursday
at Albany Medical Center.
Born July 25, 1902, in Maenza, Italy, he was the son of Costantino and
Vincenza (Porta) Terricola. He was educated in Italy and moved to the St.
Johnsville area in 1920.
Mr. Terricola was a member of St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville.
He married Ausilia Palladine in September of 1928. She died in April,
1954.
Survivors include two sons, Rolando Terricola of Mohawk and Carl Terricola
of St. Johnsville; two daughters, Vincenza Terricola of Ilion and Nancy
Raffle of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Smith-Woody
& Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, and at 9:30 a.m.
at St. Patrick's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
by the Rev. Pascal Iannotti.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Shirley Carnwath
Shirley Howlan Carnwath, 74, of Fort Hunter, died Thursday morning at
St. Mary's Hospital.
Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Frank A. and
Lillian Schwartz Howlan. Mrs. Carnwath attended local schools and was a
1940 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She attended Pennsylvania
State University and received certificates in counseling from Rutgers University
and the University of Delaware.
She was assistant director of the Hunterdon Council on Alcoholism and
was a family counselor and lecturer at Hunterdon Medical Center, Hunterdon,
N.J.; director of the Drug and Alcohol Unit at the Carrier Clinic, Belmede
N.J.; director of alcoholism services, Warminster General Hospital, Warminster
Pa.; and most recently, was an alcoholism counselor at Med Park Hospital,
Warsaw, Ind.
Mrs. Carnwath also owned the former Yarn and Eye, a needlepoint store
in Doylestown, Pa.
Mrs. Carnwath was a member of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana Associations
of Drug and Alcoholism Counselors; the National Association of Alcoholism
Counselors and also volunteered with many civic organizations including
Abington Memorial Hospital Auxiliary's June Fete.
She married Samuel W. Carnwath in 1945. He died in 1979.
Survivors include four sons, Samuel W. Carnwath Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.;
Thomas H. Carnwath of Wilmington, De.; Robert Carnwath II of Hilton Head,
S.C.; Matthew W. Carnwath of Roann, Ind.; two daughters, Speak Carnwath
of Oakland, Ca.; and Kate C. Hopkins of Baldwin, Md.; one sister, Mary
Ann Riley of Amsterdam; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Carnwath was predeceased by one brother, Francis "Dutch" Howlan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St.
Mary's Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Whitemarsh
Memorial Park, Prospectville, Pa.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Riley Mortuary
Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Institute, Upper Church
Street, Amsterdam.
Stephen "Steve" Kubas
Stephen A. Kubas, 83, of Edson Street, Amsterdam, died Thursday evening
at St. Mary's Hospital following a short illness.
Born Nov. 12, 1912, in Amsterdam, he was the son of Frank and Edna Golej
Kubas and was a lifelong city resident.
He was employed by Mohasco Industries for many years before retiring
in 1978. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and the St. Michael the
Archangel Society of the church. He was also a member of the Mohasco Quarter
Century Club.
He was predeceased by a son, Raymond Kubas, who died Aug. 9, 1973.
He married the former Helen Rogala on May 2, 1936.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two grandchildren, John and
Lynne Kubas, both of Amsterdam; one sister, Betty Olzenski of Amsterdam,
and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian
Burial at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church.
Edward Bruso
Edward N. Bruso, 67, of Old Page Road, Speculator, died Wednesday at
home after being stricken.
Born in Winchester, Vt., Mr. Bruso was educated in Speculator and lived
most of his life there.
He was a truck driver and laborer, lastly for Coleco Industries in Mayfield
until the company closed.
Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Wilkinson of Albany.
Services will be private. Burial will take place Monday in Glebeview
Cemetery, South Londonderry, Vt.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Speculator Volunteer Ambulance
Corps.
Arrangements are by the Northville Funeral Home.
Dorothy Engle
Mrs. Dorothy Harr Engle, 76, of Atco, N.J., formerly of Amsterdam and
Schenectady, died Thursday at West Jersey Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Amsterdam, Mrs. Engle moved to Schenectady after World War II.
She lived in Atco for the past four years.
Mrs. Engle was a homemaker.
She was the widow of Howard E. Engle.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Pinti of Haddonfield, and Deborah
Albrecht of Marlton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association,
600 White Horse Pike, Audubon, N.J. 08106.

Glenn Mitchell
Glenn B. "Mitch" Mitchell, 70, of Church Street, Canajoharie, died Friday
at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Born Feb. 25, 1926, in the Town of Stark, he was the son of Charles
W. Mitchell and Iva Smith. He was educated in Canajoharie schools.
Mr. Mitchell was employed at Johnstone's Florist in Palatine Bridge
for many years and later he was employed by the Village of Canajoharie
in the Public Works Department for many years before retiring.
Mr. Mitchell was a lifelong area resident.
He was a veteran of the U.S. army, serving during World War II and the
Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Canajoharie United Methodist Church.
Mr. Mitchell was a life member of the American Legion Smith Schultz
Post 222 of Canajoharie and was also past commander of the post; a member
of the 49 et 8 club of the American Legion; a member of the Last Man Club
of the Smith Schultz Post; a member and past commander of the Montgomery
County American Legion.
He was also a life member of Mohawk Valley VFW Post 3275 of Fort Plain,
a member of the Polish American Veterans in Amsterdam, a member of the
Little Falls Commandry KT No. 26, member of the Voyager Militaire No. 814
of Amsterdam, member of the Hamilton Lodge F & AM No. 79, member of
the Hiram Union Chapter No. 53 of Canajoharie, member of the Ziyara Temple
AAONMS of Utica, member of the Johnstown Council No. 72 R & SM, member
of the Canajoharie-Fort Plain BPOE No. 2621, member of the Boiling Pot
Aerie No. 3846 Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Canajoharie, and a board
member of the Prospect Hill Cemetery Association in Canajoharie.
Survivors include one sister, Gladys Polzel of Klamoth Falls, Ore.;
and several nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services are Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Houghtaling
& Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie. The Rev. Camillus
Mourice will officiate.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Canajoharie where the VFW
Memorial Squad will conduct services.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, during which
the Smith Schultz Post will hold a service at 7 p.m.

Frank Jewell
Frank H. Jewell, 92, of Route 10, Marshville, Town of Canajoharie, died
Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a short illness.
Born April 29, 1904 in Charlettetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada,
he was the son of John Jewell and Charlotte Vickerson.
He came to the United States in 1923 and became a U.S. citizen in 1941.
He was educated in East Wiltshire School in Prince Edward Island.
Mr. Jewell was a dairy farmer on Jewell Road in Marshville for more
than 30 years, retiring in 1973. After retiring, he sold shoes from his
home. Mr. Jewell lived in Marshville for 75 years.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Mr. Jewell was a former member and gate keeper of the Seeber's Lane
Grange for 42 years.
He married Ethel L. Young on Nov. 6, 1929 in Stone Arabia.
In addition to his wife of Marshville, he is survived by two sons, Daniel
H. Jewell of Marshville, and Leon J. Jewell of Fort Plain; two daughters,
J. Irma Lamphere of Palatine Bridge and Elinor Groeger of Fayetteville;
22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
He was predeceased by two sons, Milton Jewell and Frances Jewell and
also daughters, Frances Canup and Charlotte J. Mowrey who died Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Houghtaling
& Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, with the Rev. Kenneth
Dingman will officiate.
Burial will take place in Ames Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory
of Mr. Jewell.
Alberta Duesler
Mrs. Alberta C. Duesler, 87, of Mud Road, Ephratah, died Sunday at home
after a long illness.
Mrs. Duesler was born and educated in Ephratah.
She was a glovemaker for the former Alexette Glove Co. in Gloversville
until her retirement.
Mrs. Duesler was a member of the former Ephratah Methodist Church.
She was a lifetime member of the Ephratah Volunteer Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Western Fulton County Senior Citizens.
She married Vernon Duesler Sr. on Oct. 12, 1929. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Duesler is survived by two sons, Vernon Duesler Jr. of Ephratah
and John Duesler of Oppenheim; two daughters, Loretta Christman and Mary
Ann Ahrens, both of Ephratah; 21 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the A.G. Cole Funeral
Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.
Burial will be in Ephratah Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ephratah Volunteer Fire Department.
Minnie Harmon
Mrs. Minnie C. Harmon, 92, formerly of Sweetman Road, Ballston Spa,
died Sunday at University Heights Nursing Home in Albany.
Born in Derry, Pa., Mrs. Harmon lived in Saratoga County for more than
50 years.
Her first husband, James Boscoli, died in 1926.
She later married Louis Harmon. He died in 1988.
Mrs. Harmon is survived by a daughter, Marcella Staulters of Ballston
Spa; five sisters, Bessie Smith of New Derry, Pa., Thelma Hill of Derry,
Pa., Blanche Ritchie of DuBois, Pa., Sylvia Cromling of Broadalbin, and
Ida Leary of Gloversville; a brother, James Kelly of Amsterdam; three grandsons;
six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
A private service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Activities Fund, University
Heights Nursing Home, 325 Northern Blvd., Albany, 12204.

Mary Palombo
Mary Palombo, 94, of the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care
Facility, died late Saturday evening at the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital
after a long illness.
Born in Naples, Italy, on May 12, 1902, she was a daughter of Vincent
and Angelina Mormile DePalma. She came to the United States as a child
first to Gloversville, and moved to Amsterdam several years later.
A homemaker, Mrs. Palombo was acommunicant of St. Michael The Archangel
Roman Catholic Church.
Her husband, Angelo Palombo died in 1962.
A son, Carl Palombo pre-deceased her in 1994.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary A. Greco of Amsterdam; two sisters,
Nancy Badillo of Recida, Calif., and Violet Filipeck of Port Orange, Fla.;
five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Rossi
Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:15 at St. Michael The Archangel Church. The Rev. James Puglisi will be
celebrant.
Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Calling hours are today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beverly Krepline
August 17, 1996
Mrs. Beverly J. Krepline, 68, of County Route 126, Amsterdam, died Saturday
at home after a long illness.
Born and educated in Amsterdam, Mrs. Krepline was the daughter of John
and Ada Borst Harnish. She was a1947 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch
High School.
She worked at the Bankers Trust, Broadalbin, retiring in 1979.
Mrs. Krepline was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Krepline, whom she married
in 1950; and a brother, Erwin Harnish of Amsterdam; and nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Mrs. Krepline was predeceased by one brother, John Harnish.
A service will be conducted Wednesday at a time to be announced by the
Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., Amsterdam.
Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.
