Stanley Dybas, 93, of 58 Vanderveer St., Amsterdam, died Monday evening
at the Wilkinson Skilled Nursing Facility following a long illness.
Mr. Dybas was born April 9, 1903 in Amsterdam, a son of the late Adalbert
and Helen Pasterska Dybas, and always resided here.
He was employed by the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company. For many
years he was a general foreman in the Department of Public Works for the
City of Amsterdam before retiring.
He was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist and also served
as Trustee and Collector for 50 years. He was supervisor of the former
7th Ward for four terms, serving from 1946 to 1953. He was also a member
of the John F. Kennedy Democratic Club and a member of the St. John's Club
and the Polish National Legion.
He was married to the former Stephanie Zarnick in 1937. She died Aug.
13, 1995.
Mr. Dybas is survived by one son, Stan Dybas of Amsterdam; one brother,
Edmund Dybas of Amsterdam; one sister, Mary Karp, also of Amsterdam; and
nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 8:30 Thursday morning at the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9 a.m. at the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. John The Baptist
or to GAVAC or to the Wilkinson Skilled Nursing Facility.
Vincent Denise
Vincent L. Denise, 86, of Gloversville, died Monday at the St. Johnsville
Nursine Home in St. Johnsville following a long illness.
Born and educated in Danbury, Conn., Mr. Denise lived there until moving
to the Gloversville area in 1966. He was a self-employed realtor for more
than 20 years and also worked for the former Nelson Jones Ford dealership
in Gloversville as a salesman.
He was the widower of Kathleen Hobby Denise.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Denise of Jensen Beach, Fla., Vincent
L. Denise Jr., of Gloversville, and Robert Denise of Hagaman; two daughters,
Rosalie Denise and Janet Beck, both of Danbury; three brothers, Fred Denise
of Fultonville, Isadore Denise of Modesto, Calif., and Felice Denise of
Bethel, Conn.; four sisters, Vincie Moffa and Dolly Airbitella, both of
Danbury, Millie Ferreira of Springhill, Fla., and Flora Hubert of Oakland,
Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private and there will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville.
Edward Fordman
Edward J. Fordman of Main Avenue, Schenectady, died Monday at Ellis
Hospital.
Born in Plattsburgh, Mr. Fordman resided in Delhi before moving to this
area.
He served with the Air Force from 1956 to 1959.
For many years, Mr. Fordman worked for Latham Electric. Since 1992,
he was a lab courier for Ellis Hospital.
Mr. Fordman was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rotterdam.
Survivors include his wife, Norman Knapp Fordman; a son, Edward J. Fordman
Jr., a daughter, Rebecca Fordman; three stepsons, Kim Boomhower of South
Glens Falls, Scott Boomhower of Schenectady and Paul Boomhower of Gloversville;
and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American
Heart Association.

Evelyn Francisco
Evelyn M. Francisco, 84, formerly of the Fort Plain area, died Friday
at Mount Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam.
Born Oct. 3, 1911 in Fort Johnstown, she was the daughter of Edward
and IreneSnyder Swart. She attended Gloversville schools.
With her late husband, she operated a dairy farm in the Albany Bush
area. She was also employed as a seamstress at Jules T. Garfall's in Johnstown.
Mrs. Francisco was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Amsterdam,
and the Ephratah Home Bureau.
Her husband, Floyd Francisco, died May 13, 1992.
Survivors include daughters, Adeen Stevens and Onalee Wert, both of
Fonda; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were held on Monday at the Barter & Donnan
Funeral Home.
Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill.
There were no caling hours.

Avenue, Amsterdam; or to the Mount Loretto Nursing Home.
Emma Torrance
Mrs. Emma Dorothea Torrance, 82, of the Fulton County Infirmary, Gloversville,
formerly of North Second Avenue, Mechanicville, died Monday at the infirmary
after a long illness.
Born in Dover Plains, Mrs. Torrance was a member of Emmanuel United
Church.
She also was a member of the Star of Liberty, Order of the Eastern Star
and the Bapterian Women's Society.
She was married to the late Frederick A. Torrance.
Survivors include two sisters, Regina R. Wendell of Mechanicville and
Bernice I. Kiley of Johnstown; and a brother, Earl C. Rishel of Southampton,
Long Island.
Services will be private.
Burial will take place in Hudson View Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Mildred Mitchell
Mrs. Mildred E. Mitchell, 94, a resident of Droms Road Extension, Scotia,
for 43 years, died Tuesday at the Baptist Retirement Center after a short
illness.
Born Oct. 13, 1901 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Clement V. and
Millie Hamel Edwards. Mrs. Mitchell lived for a short time in the Amsterdam,
Hagaman and Glens Falls areas until movig to Scotia. During World War II,
she worked for the General Electric Company and later for dress shops in
Glens Falls.
Mrs. Mitchell was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception
Glenville.
Her husband, Ralph E. Mitchell, died in 1976.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Millie Lange of East Glenville
and Carol Duquette of Ballston Lake; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Betz Funeral Home, 171
Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, and at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate
Conception, Route 50, Glenville, where a Mass of Christian burial will
be celebrated.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral
home.

the American Cancer Society.
Barney Natoli
Barney Natoli, 82, a former resident of Academy Street, Amsterdam, died
Saturday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility
in Amsterdam after being a resident there for seven years.
Mr. Natoli was born Feb. 23, 1914, in Amsterdam, the son of John and
Marie Dalia Natoli.
He was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and attended local schools.
For 55 years, Mr. Natoli was employed as a barber, working for the former
Ideal Barber Shop on Market Street and retiring a number of years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church
of Amsterdam.
Survivors include two brothers, John J. Natoli of Amsterdam and Anthony
J. Natoli of West Virginia; a sister, Mary Smicinski of Amsterdam; several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Betz Funeral Home Inc.,
171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to
be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic
Church, Grove Street, Amsterdam.
Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Calling hours are Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Health Care Facility.
Thomas Baranauskas
Thomas E. Baranauskas, 36, of San Francisco, a former resident of Schenectady,
died Aug. 8 at the Davies Medical Center in San Francisco after a brief
illness.
He was born in Schenectady Oct. 28, 1959, the son of Edward and Eleanore
Svegzda Baranauskas.
He attended local schools and was a 1977 graduate of the former Linton
High School. During his senior year he was editor of the school newspaper
and class yearbook.
Mr. Baranauskas attended Cornell University and graduated from the University
of Missouri School of Journalism. At the time of his death he was employed
by the City of San Francisco as a supervisor in the computer department.
He moved to California 12 years ago.
In Schenectady he was a communicant and former altar server at Holy
Cross Roman Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his mother, who was a native of Amsterdam. She
died in 1975.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Edward and Genute Baranauskas
of Schenectady; a brother, George Baranauskas of Scotia; two sisters, Barbara
A. Hoefs of Fonda and Sandra J. Soltren of Ballston Spa; several nieces
and nephews.
Services were held at St. Ann's Chapel in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam,
with the Rev. Bernard J. Gustas officiating. Interment followed in the
cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Casimir's Memorial Fund,
260 E. Main St., Amsterdam.

Josephine Adamkiewicz
Mrs. Josephine Adamkiewicz, 103, of 3 Lodge St., Amsterdam, died Sunday
afternoon at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Born June 1, 1893 in Pereval District Poland, she was a daughter of
the late Marcin and Katarzyna Serafin Koval and came to Amsterdam in 1913
and has been a resident here since.
Mrs. Adamkiewicz was employed as a winder at Mohawk Carpet Mills Inc.
until her retirement in 1962.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, the Holy Rosary Society of
the church, and a member of the Mohawk Mills Quarter Century Club.
Her husband, Joseph, died Dec. 1, 1943.
Mrs. Adamkiewicz is survived by one daughter, Alice Zabielski of Amsterdam;
and two grandsons, David Zabielski of Amsterdam, and Ronald Zabielski of
Dumfries, Va.; two great-grandchildren Amanda and Keith Zabielski both
of Dumfries, Va., and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased
by a daughter, Winifred Michaluk on July 6, 1985.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 Wednesday morning at the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian
Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus
Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Richard Jordan
Richard A. Jordan, 79, of State Route 80, Fort Plain, Town of Minden,
died Saturday at his home after a long illness.
Born in St. Johnsville on March 5, 1917, he was the son of Emery Jordan
and Lucinda Snell Jordan. He was a 1936 graduate of Van Hornesville High
School.
Mr. Jordan was a dairy farmer in the Town of Stark for many years, retiring
in 1979.
He was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Jordan was of theLutheran Faith.
He married Mary Coppernoll on Aug. 31, 1940 in Fort Plain.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Charyl Morris Young January of 1995.
Survivors including his wife, are one son Ronald Jordan of Fort Plain;
five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran
Church, Lydus St., Fort Plain with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating.
Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.

Julia Bartsch
Julia Bartsch, 84, of West View Drive, Ghent, died Saturday at home.
Born in Brewster, N.Y., she was the daughter of Charles Drum and Iola
Wheeler. She was educated in Brewster.
Mrs. Bartsch was a member of the telephone Pioneers.
She was employed with New York Telephone as an operator, retiring in
1960.
She married William Bartsch on June 23, 1934.
Survivors include a son, John Bartsch of Cobleskill and a daughter,
Claudette Polhemus of Coventry, Ct.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Beecher Funeral Home,
1 Putnam Terrace, Brewster, N.Y., with the Rev. Willett Porter officiating.
Burial will take place in Milltown Rural Cemetery in Brewster.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ruth Vanderbilt
Ruth J. (Sloan) Vanderbilt, 82, of Birchwood Ave., Rensselaer, died
Saturday after a short illness at her residence.
Born in Brattleboro, she was the daughter of the Edward and Louise Sloan.
She was a homemaker all of her life and a member of the Broadway United
Methodist Church, Rensselaer, where she served as a trustee and flower
chairperson; and member of the Get-Together-Girls of the Watervliet Reformed
Church.
Survivors include her husband, Chester W. Vanderbilt two daughters,
Dawn Marie Coon of Troy, Tracie Lynn Anderson, Colonie; brothers Frank
Sloan of Schoharie, and William Sloan of Oregon, sisters, Ethel Sloann
of Waterford, and Rita Hafer of Albany, Oregon; and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Broadway
United Methodist Church in Rensselaer.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the William J. Rockefeller
Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer. Interment will be in the
Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.

Charles Pamadora
Charles P. Pamadora, 79, of Holland Gardens Apartments, Amsterdam, died
late Saturday evening at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Utica, Sept. 11, 1916, he was a son of Salvatore and Vennera
Marchese Pamadora. He was educated there and moved to Amsterdam in 1937.
He was employed for 27 years by the former Octavio's Shoe Hospital in Amsterdam,
and later for 17 years as a driver for the State University of New York
at Albany, retiring in 1979.
Mr. Pamadora was an Army veteran during World War II and served in the
Pacific Theater, receiving four battle stars and the Amphibious Landing
Medal.
He was a communicant of St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church
and was a member of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the
Columbian Social Club and the Post 55 Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Salamack, whom he married
Jan. 9, 1944; one daughter, Mary Rose Turo of Saratoga; one son, Salvatore
C. Pamadora of Gansevoort, NY.; three sisters, Josephine Ciruzzi, Christina
Gigliotto and Alvera Capuana all of Utica; six grandchildren and nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home,
11 Mohawk Place, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St.
Michael The Archangel Church.
Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where
the Columbian Social Club will meet at 6:30 p.m.

Carl Dunham
Carl G. Dunham, 68, of Beaver Street, Gloversville, died Saturday at
Nathan Littauer Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Dunham attended Gloversville schools and was
a lifelong area resident.
He was employed by several area companies as a truck driver, retiring
from the former Crushin Construction Company in Johnstown in 1970, due
to ill health.
Mr. Dunham was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans of
Fulton County and the Lazy 8 Model Airplane Club.
He served in the Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Meher Dunham, whom he married Feb.
26, 1949; a son, Kenneth G. Dunham of Gloversville; two daughters, Sharon
Brasure and Deborah M. Purcell, both of Johnstown, 17 grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hollenbeck Funeral
Home, 4 Second Ave. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
