Mrs. Wilhelmina Miller Ritchie, 90, formerly of Frances Street, Amsterdam,
died Friday evening at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio.
Born April 2, 1907 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Hubert and
Wilhelmina Grade Miller. She resided in Amsterdam for most of her life.
She had resided with her daughter since 1987 in Middletown, Ohio.
Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ritchie was a member of St. Monica Court No. 61, Order of the Amaranth
of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Senior Citizens.
She was a communicant of the United Methodist Church of Hagaman.
She married Thomas D. Ritchie in 1950. He died March 22, 1984.
Mrs. Ritchie is survived by her daughter, Margaret Helen Pankau of Middletown,
Ohio; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Betz Funeral
Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, with the Rev. John Becker officiating.
Interment will be in Hagaman Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or
the United Methodist Church of Hagaman.
Cecelia Anderson
Cecelia Anderson, 90, a resident of the Baptist Retirement Center in
Scotia, formerly of Golf Course Road, Amsterdam, died Sunday at the center
after a long illness.
Born Nov. 18, 1906 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of John and Frances
Bojanka Andrzejewski. She was a lifelong area resident and was educated
in local schools.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Amsterdam
Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian
Burial at St. Stanislaus Church.
Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Josephine Trzaskos
Josephine K. Trzaskos, 81, formerly of the Sarah Jane Sanford Home for
the Elderly, Guy Park Avenue, died this morning at the Montgomery Meadows
Residential Health Care Facility.
Born Feb. 1, 1916 in Amsterdam, she was a daughter of Paul and Mary
Skaradek Trzaskos. She attended local schools and lived in Amsterdam before
moving to Schenectady, where she lived for 30 years before returning to
Amsterdam in 1981 upon her retirement. She was employed for many years
at General Electric Co. in Schenectady.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church
and the M&K Society of the church. She was also a member of the GE
Women's Club and the GE Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of
the Annie Shaffer Senior Citizens Center in Schenectady.
She is survived by five brothers, John Trzaskos and Casimir Trzaskos,
both of Amsterdam; Matthew Trzaskos of Pine Lake and Florida, Frank Trzaskos
of Coventry, Conn. and Paul Trzaskos of Sharon Springs; three sisters,
Helen Bogatka of Schenectady, Irene Powell of Scotia and Frances Mochrie
of Sarasota, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Good
Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Polish National
Catholic Church or to Hospice of Amsterdam.
Arrangements are by the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam.
Eugenie Farhart
Mrs. Eugenie Farhart, 85, of Dean Street, Gloversville, died Saturday
at her home.
Mrs. Farhart was born in Beirut and came to Gloversville in 1930.
She and her husband owned and operated the Farhart Grocery Store at
106 E. Fulton St. for more than 40 years before retiring.
She married Fay Farhart on June 22, 1930. He died in 1965.
Survivors include a son, George J. Farhart of Gloversville; two daughters,
Georgette Deraney of Wayne, N.J., and Marguerite Potter of Oneonta; six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Hollenbeck
Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:30 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fulton County, 73 Main
St., or to Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, 99 East St., both
in Gloversville.
Rita Boynton
Mrs. M. Rita Boynton, 97, of Gloversville, died Saturday at the Wilkinson
Residential Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Boynton was born in St. Marys, Pa., and attended school there.
She lived for several years in the Buffalo area before coming to Gloversville
in 1931, where she resided for more than 40 years. She moved to Mayfield
in 1969.
Mrs. Boynton was employed as a nurse's aide for 17 years at Nathan Littauer
Hospital.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gloversville, the
Bannertown Senior Citizens Center and the American Association of Retired
Persons.
Her husband, Walter H. Boynton, died in 1969.
Survivors include a son, Walter J. Boynton of Venice, Fla.; a daughter,
Lois Rosi of East Greenbush; a brother, Alfred Sarginger of Cleveland;
two sisters, Esther Kunsch of St. Marys and Lucille Schalcher of Maryland;
11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hollenbeck
Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Gwendolyn Wilcox
Miss Gwendolyn N. Wilcox, 90, of Chapel Street, Cobleskill, died Saturday
at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County.
She was a graduate of the Plattsburgh Normal School and later received
two master's degrees from Columbia Teachers College.
Miss Wilcox was employed for 41 years at Boonton High School, first
as a business teacher and later as a guidance counselor. She retired in
1969 as dean of students.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Boonton, and a member
of the Order of the Eastern Star in Richford, Vt.
Survivors include a sister, Alma Wilcox of Cobleskill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert A.
Guffin Funeral Home, 1 Chapel St., Cobleskill. Burial will be in West Village
Cemetery, West Charleston, Vt.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Kevin Williams
Kevin R. Williams, 29, of Gravel Switch, Kent., a former resident of
Canajoharie, died Saturday as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile
accident in Lebanon, Kent.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Houghtaling
& Smith Funeral Home, Canajoharie.
Helen Shelly
Mrs. Helen J. Shelly, 78, of Elizabeth Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday
at her home after being stricken.
Born Nov. 15, 1918 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Stanislaw and
Frances Wyszomirski Jaracz, and was a lifelong city resident. She was educated
in Amsterdam schools and was employed by Ward Products as an inspector
until retiring several years ago.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, its Rosary Society, and was a
charter member of the Irish American Club Auxiliary.
She married William F. Shelly in 1941. He died in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia S. Conrad, a sister, Frances
Wojcik, both of Amsterdam, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Riley
Mortuary Inc. 110 Division St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort
Johnson.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rose Kerible
Rose Kerible, 82, formerly of Jay Street, died Tuesday evening at the
Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. She was a resident
of the Hillcrest Home.
Born Dec. 24, 1914 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Karl and Kristyna
Warsaga Weklar. She was educated in local schools.
Mrs. Kerible was employed for 50 years as a housekeeper for the Everett
Singer family until retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
She married Peter Kerible on June 1, 1935. He died Nov. 1, 1967. She
was also predeceased by a son, Peter Kerrible Jr., in 1938.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Milosek of Saugerties and Sandra
Hiddle of Amsterdam, two sisters, Josephine Vitale of Amsterdam and Ann
Martin of Amsterdam; a brother, John Weklar of Albany; 11 grandchildren,
15 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rossi
Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:15 at St. Mary's Church. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mary Farnan
Mrs. Mary T. Farnan, 64, of the Trackside Homes, formerly of Gloversville,
died Wednesday at home after a long illness.
Born and educated in Stillwater, Mrs. Farnan was also educated at Albany
Business College.
She worked for the Park Davis Pharmaceutical Co. in Menands for a short
time before becoming a homemaker.
Mrs. Farnan was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She married Thomas J. Farnan on July 18, 1953.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters, Colleen
M Farnan of Malta, Joyce C. Vietri of Naperville, Ill., and Mary Beth Papa
of Johnstown; and a sister, Elizabeth Dunham of Schaghticoke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at
the Immaculate Conception Church, Cayadutta and Warren streets.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Barter &
Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Stillwater.

Dorothy Davis
Dorothy W. Davis, 88, of 44 Bridge St., Broadalbin, died Wednesday at
Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born June 18, 1908 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Myndert and
Ella Putman Wemple.
She resided in Perth as a child, and then all her life in Broadalbin.
She was a graduate of Broadalbin High School and Oneonta Normal School.
Mrs. Davis was employed as an elementary school teacher at Perth School
for three years, then at Broadalbin Elementary School for 32 years.
She was a member of the Broadalbin United Methodist Church for 70 years,
where she was previously a member of the Financial Committee, the Administrative
Board, the Women's Society of Christian Service, and a former supervisor
of the Sunday School program.
She was also a member of Broadalbin Chapter No. 487 Order of the Eastern
Star for more than 50 years, and the New York State and Fulton County Retired
Teachers Associations.
She married Orton S. Davis on Aug. 23, 1933. He died Aug. 22, 1985.
Survivors include a son, Philip O. Davis of High Point, N.C., three
grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jeffords
Chapel, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin, with the Rev. Patricia Bush, pastor
of the Broadalbin United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at
Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery in Broadalbin.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
