She received her Bachelors and Masters degree from Hunter College and her Doctorate degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. She was a Reading Specialist for the NYC Board of Education for over 35 years, Professor of Creative Writing/English for over 20 years at various colleges in NYC and president of Kappa Chapter, Kappa Delta Pi, Teachers College, Columbia University for 35 years.
