North Greenbush - Norman E. Cottrell, 88, of North Greenbush Road, died Friday at the Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center Albany, after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Norman E. Cottrell Sr. and Magdelena Fiedler Cottrell and husband of the late Rosa M. Riglione Cottrell. He had resided in the Troy and Schenectady areas, then New York City and later back to East Greenbush and was educated at Troy Public School 16, Troy High School class of 1930 and attended the University of Alabama.
Mr. Cottrell was employed as a security guard for the New York State Department of Education for many years retiring in 1970. Prior to that he worked in the same capacity at American Locomotive and General Electric.
He was a member of the New York State National Guard, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars in Albany and Averill Park, the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an excellent marksman and also loved horses.
Survivors include two sisters Mildred M. Cottrell and Edna M. Cottrell both of North Greenbush.
Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
Those desiring may make contributions in memory of Mr. Cottrell to the charity of ones choice.
Margaret F. Wells Demers, 82
Brunswick - Margaret F. Wells Demers, 82, died Friday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Franklin and Bessie Moore Wells and wife for 61 years of John M. Demers. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Mrs. Demers was a clerk for Sim & Company in Troy for 25 years.
She was a member of the Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, Home Bureau and a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter Elizabeth Bartels and husband Paul of Zephyr Hills, FL; two sons John F. Demers and wife Theresa of North Greenbush and Donald Chester Demers and wife Debbie of Boise, ID; a sister-in-law Marge Wells of Troy; an aunt Eunice Peck of Troy; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers Jack, Walter and William Wells.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy with Rev. Randall P. Patterson, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9PM. Interment Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

Marion V. Keenan Beaudoin, 82
Troy - Marion V. Keenan Beaudoin, 82, of Saratoga Avenue Mechanicville and formerly of Central Avenue Troy, died Saturday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Michael and Mary Martin Keenan and wife of the late John Joseph Beaudoin. She was forever proud to say she was born in South Troy. She later resided on Central Avenue in Troy for many years and was educated at St. Joseph's School and Troy High School.
Mrs. Beaudoin spent her life joyfully raising her a family. She later worked at Samaritan Hospital in Troy for 25 years. She was a source of eternal joy and inspiration to her entire family.
She was a proud member of Troy Senior Citizens and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and formerly a very active 40 year member of St. Peter's Church in Troy.
Survivors include three daughters Mary Ann Gaetano and husband Joe of Mechanicville, Patricia Rokjer and husband Mark of Petersburg and Nancy Drosness and husband Paul of Ballston Spa; three sons John J. Beaudoin and wife Gail of Troy, Kenneth P. Beaudoin of Troy and Gerard Beaudoin and wife Linda of Casper WY; a sister Peggy Cook of Watervliet; a brother Michael Keenan of Pawtucket RI; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Bill (Bucky) Keenan and Frank Keenan and two sisters Mildred Keenan and Rita Farley.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy and at 9:30am from Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Eleanor Baxter Briscoe, 84
Schenectady - Eleanor Baxter Briscoe, 84, of Kings Road, died Friday at Ellis Hospital Schenectady, after a long illness.
Born in Watertown, NY she was daughter of the late Frank and Mary Baxter and wife of the late George W. Briscoe. She was raised in Watertown moving to North Greenbush in 1970 and to Schenectady 4 1/2 years ago.
Mrs. Briscoe was a legal secretary for 58 years, since 1970 for the law firm of DeGraff Foy Holt-Harris Kunz & Devine in Albany retiring 10 years ago.
She was an avid bowler and golfer.
Survivors include a step daughter Susan Allen of Clifton Park; four step sons David W. Briscoe of Feura Bush, E. Philip Briscoe of Sand Lake, G. Peter Briscoe of Niskayuna and Theodore J. Briscoe of North Greenbush; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren .

Henry Blunck, 49
Menands - Henry Blunck, 49, of Broadway, died suddenly Tuesday at Albany Memorial Hospital Albany.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he was son of William and Guste Hansen Blunck of Sunnyside, NY. He was raised in Queens and resided over 20 years in New Paltz, Albany and Menands and was educated at Bronx High School of Science and Lehman College in the Bronx.
Mr. Blunck was a beloved teacher at Albany County Association of Retarded Children in Slingerlands for the past 20 years.
He was an active member of the Brunswick Church including the Mens Ensemble, Choir, the Book Group and was a Bible teacher.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Harold Blunck and wife Gwendolyne of Queens; two uncles, Herbert Hansen and wife Anne of Las Vegas and Hans Gietrich and wife Marianne of Long Island; an aunt Herta Mohrmann of Toms River and several nieces and nephews.

Julie Marie Bishop, 30
Sand Lake - Julie Marie Bishop, 30, of Taborton Road, died suddenly Sunday at
Albany Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born in Albany, she was the adored daughter of Joan Sheehan Bishop and
Michael Stoffels of Sand Lake and Thomas and Sandra Bishop of Nassau. She
was a graduate of Columbia High School in East Greenbush.
Julie held several positions a Albany Medical Center during the past few years and
recently devoted most of her time to volunteering for the Oley Foundation and
enjoying life's simple pleasures with her precious daughter, Guiliana.
She was the loving and devoted mother of 'the light of her life', Guiliana Valenti;
cherished sister of John and Stefanie Bishop of Niskayuna and Kimberly and Greg
Butler of Castleton; Step sister of Jennifer, Michael and Julie Stoffels and Clark
Baker. She was also the wonderful granddaughter of Margaret Bishop of Nassau;
adored niece of Vincent Sheehan of East Greenbush and her two darling nephews
Anthony and Nicholas Butler and a precious niece Kiley Rose Bishop. She also
leaves behind a devoted companion, David Dunavin.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9:30am from St. Henry's Church in
Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Ella Rose Berg, 82
Troy - Ella Rose Berg, 82, of Locust Avenue, died suddenly Tuesday at Samaritan Hospital Troy
after being stricken at home.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Jasper U. and Ella Rose Perrie Jenkins and wife of the
late Paul R. Berg. She had resided in Green Island as a teenager and in Troy most of her life.
She was educated at Troy Public School 16 and Troy High School.
Mrs. Berg was a file clerk for Montgomery Ward in Menands many years ago and a devoted
homemaker and grandmother.
She was a former Cub Scout den mother and a faithful member of the Church of the
Ascension in Troy. She was a lifelong friend of Dr. John Browe, Rose Burt, Ethel
Rierdan and Thelma Boettger.
Survivors include two sons Paul J. Berg and wife Sandra of Pittstown and John D. Berg of
Rome; two daughters Mary E. Kelly and husband Ronald of Ballston Lake and Peggy M.
Bottiecher and husband Thomas of Roanoke, VA; a brother Richard Leadley of Brunswick; 6
grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Lois Barringer.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 2pm from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. comer of Pawling
at Maple Avenues Troy.
