Delmar - Agnes E. Groesbeck Jones, 90, of Rockefeller Road Good Samaritan Home, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at the home after a long illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Gates and Ella Fitzpatrick Groesbeck and wife of the late Harold L. Jones Sr. She had resided in Troy most of her life and was educated at Lansingburgh schools.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and worked as a manager of the north dock of Montgomery Wards in Menands for 15 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lansingburgh.
Survivors include her son Gary L. Jones of Duanesburg; a step daughter Elizabeth Reynolds of Troy; a step son Harold L. Jones Jr. of West End, NC; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy with Rev. Alfred Siegel, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Lansingburgh, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3-7pm. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. William Michael Johnson, 57
Port St. Lucie, FL - William Michael Johnson, 57, of East Snow Road, died Friday at Cambridge, NY after an illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late William and Mary Catherine McGovern Johnson and husband of Dawn M. O'Malley Johnson. He was raised in Troy, had resided in Florida for the past 5 years and was educated at LaSalle Institute and Siena College.
Mr. Johnson was a recruiter for Management Recruiters Inc. in Jensen Beach, Florida for the past 3 years.
He was an avid reader and sports fan.
Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters Maria Abbott-Root, Susan Becker, Erika Johnson of Tallahassee and Erin Johnson of Port St. Lucie; a son William Abbott; a sister Janice McGovern Johnson; 4 grandchildren; mother and father-in-law Dolores Romack and Jonathan Fine of Cambridge and Joseph and Patricia O'Malley of Duanesburg and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30am from Sacred Heart Church Pawling Avenue Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Dorothy 'Dottie' Jean McGuire (Des Lauriers), 45
Rensselaer - Dorothy 'Dottie' Jean McGuire (Des Lauriers), age 45, passed away
April 4, 2001, after a long illness surrounded by those who loved her dearly. She is
survived by her mother, Doris L. Des Lauriers, and was predeceased by her father,
Joseph F. Des Lauriers. She also leaves her godparents, William and Susan Blom
and Bev Witkowski, her godson, Adam Sittler, and her dear friends Pat Gallagher
and Shirley Morgan. Dottie resided in Rensselaer County her entire life. She
graduated in 1973 from the Waterford-Halfmoon High School, and earned both her
BS and MS from the College of Saint Rose.
At the time of her death, Dottie was a music teacher in the Schodack Central
Schools, where she has been employed since 1981. She leaves behind thousands of
students whose lives she has touched through music. Dottie's motto---"If you do
what you love, you'll never work a day in your life," embodied her fervent love of
music and her ability to instill this love into the children she came into contact with
over the past 20 years. Her "Moving Mouth" award was cherished by all who
received it, and was coveted by everyone. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she
positively impacted students, faculty and staff. Her musicians performed with the
Albany Symphony Orchestra and more recently, in 1999 with David Allen Miller.
Her chorus also performed yearly at the Pepsi Arena. Individual youngsters have
successfully participated in musical competitions, and Dottie was musical director
for countless productions. One achievement that she was particularly proud of was
the 1999 integrated arts program based upon Thomas Locker's book, Water Dance
at Castleton Elementary School.
Dottie was active in the Rensselaer City School Music Association where she held
several offices, the Berkshire Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Orff
Association and the Schodack Teachers Faculty Association, where she held the
office of secretary, and served as president from 1994 to 1996. She worked on
many school committees, and was a strong advocate of shared decision-making, She
was instrumental in the formation of the Castleton Elementary School's
award-winning Morning Program where she continued to be an integral part of this
daily activity.

Avenue at Maple Avenue Troy Friday from 2-5 and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.

be continued so that many generations of youngsters be exposed to the programs she
held dear.
Elwood E. Edwards, 86
North Greenbush - Elwood E. Edwards, 86, formerly of Pine Avenue, died
Thursday at Van Rensselaer Manor North Greenbush, after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Elwood and Julia Scheck Edwards and
husband of Catherine A. Peckham Edwards. He had resided the past 60 years
in the Wynantskill area.
Mr. Edwards worked for Shortsleeves Well Drilling in Wynantskill and later
was a maintenance mechanic for John Manning Paper and Behr-Manning in
Watervliet.
He was a 55 year member of Second Baptist Church and Mt. Ida Community
Baptist Church in Troy, a member of the Wynantskill Seniors and
Sullivan-Jones Veteran's of Wars Post in Poestenkill and an Army veteran of
World War II.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters Judith Edwards Goyer
and husband Thomas of Wynantskill and Nancy Edwards Casteras and husband
John of Colonia, NJ; a brother-in-law Daniel Peckham and wife Ruth of
Wynantskill; two grandchildren Wendy Goyer-DiGioacchino and husband
Anthony of Ballston Spa and Denise Goyer DeMarco and husband James E.
of East Greenbush; two great granddaughters Isabella and Sophia
DiGioacchino of Ballston Spa and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by a brother John Edwards and two sisters Mildred Hagg and
Bernice Baran.

Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue Troy with Rev. Douglas Thomson,
Pastor of the Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church, officiating.

Anita E. Hallock
HOOSICK FALLS - Anita E. Hallock, 87, died on Saturday, February 13, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
She resided at the Danforth Adult Home in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Eugene Hallock who died on February 17, 1999. They were married on June 6, 1947.
She and her husband formerly resided in Buskirk.
Anita was born on March 6, 1922, in the Bronx, daughter of the late George and Grace (Schoeffel) Reichert.
She worked as a seamstress at the Reis Mill in Cambridge.
Anita was one of the original members of the Buskirk Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a former communicant of St. Monica’s Church in Buskirk, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society.
Anita enjoyed knitting, crocheting and time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Grace Hallock of Shushan, Catherine McGuire of Latham and Mary Hallock of Cambridge; sons Michael Hallock of Gansevoort and Tom Hallock of Buskirk. Also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by three sisters, Ethel Ward, Grace Reichert and Beatrice Jacob; and brothers George and Edmund Reichert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at noon Thursday, February 18, at the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls.

TROY - Timothy J. ‘Tim’ Maloney, 51, of Kinloch Avenue, beloved husband of Anne C. Toomey Maloney of Troy, died on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born on January 5, 1959, in Troy, he was the son of the late John A. and Dorothy Touissant Maloney.
He was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1978.
Tim was last employed as a pressman at Fort Orange Press Inc. in Albany.
He was a 18-year member, past president and past assistant chief of the Mountain View Volunteer Fire Co. in Brunswick.
Beloved husband of Anne C. Toomey Maloney of Troy; devoted father of Tara (Jason) Ham of Wynantskill, Kyle Maloney, Corey Maloney, Christine (Sean Berg) Maloney and Theron Maloney, all of Troy; brother of Geraldine Flavin of Troy, Patricia Weatherwax of Brunswick, Thomas Maloney of Hoosick Falls, Michael (Kathy) Maloney of Troy, Sister Alice Maloney, Order of the Daughters of St. Paul of New Orleans, LA, and Lynn Blair of Brunswick; cherished grandfather of Rileigh, Joshua and Rian Ham, ‘special grandpa’ to Chayton Young and Vinnie Nardone. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Gerald M. McAllister
TROY - Gerald M. McAllister, 57, died on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.
Born in Troy, he was the son of Dolores Dunham McAllister and the late Gerald H. McAllister.
He was a longtime resident of Wynantskill and attended Wynantskill schools and Troy High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1972 -1975.
Mr. McAllister was a self-employed building contractor.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his children Erica of Watervliet, Michael of Troy, Jessica of Scotia and Jerry of Watervliet; and four sisters, Cathy Lanesey of Troy, Carol Lemner of Malta, Bonnie Proper of Clifton Park and Kim Bogett of Camillus. He was predeceased by his son Shawn and brother Donald McAllister.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill Thursday at 10:30 a.m with Rev. Anthony Ligato officiating. There will be a calling hour at the church the hour preceding the memorial Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Gerald B.F. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
