Evelyn I. Shute
SELKIRK — Evelyn I. Baumes Shute, of Cedar Grove Road, died Thursday at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born and educated in South Bethlehem.
She was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Shute was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, James K. Shute of Selkirk; two daughters, Debra M. Shute of Clarksville and Linda F. Smith of Westerlo; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Meyers Funeral Home, 741 Delaware Ave., Delmar.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Eileen E. Skelton, 56
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — Eileen Elizabeth Skelton, 56, of Azalea Drive, formerly of Troy, died Saturday at the Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga., after a long illness.
Born in Brooklyn, she was daughter of the late Capt. Frank and Bridget Hughes Jones.
She moved to Troy as a young girl.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Troy and Troy High School.
While in high school, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
Mrs. Skelton enlisted in the Women's Air Force after high school, serving for six years.
An airman first class, she had worked first as an Air Force recruiter in Connecticut.
She then served as a nuclear specialist at Otis Air Force in Massachusetts.
She later worked under Gen. Curtis LeMay as an administrative assistant at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
She was discharged in May 1967.
Mrs. Skelton was a homemaker in Troy.
She was a communicant of Sacred Hart Church in Troy, before moving to Georgia, where she resided with her children.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Jean Daniels of McDonough, Ga.; twin sons, Thomas and Frank Skelton, both of Stockbridge; a brother, retired Army aviator Frank D. Jones of Troy; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy, and at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Troy.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ethel M. St. Dennis
TROY — Ethel M. Bartlette St. Dennis, formerly of Ida Street, died Tuesday at the Hallmark Nursing Home in Troy.
Born and educated in Churchville, a suburb of Rochester, she came to Troy in 1941. She was the widow of John "Frenchy" St. Dennis.
Mrs. St. Dennis was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Troy.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Paul of Canada; a son, Richard T. St. Dennis of Troy; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
The funeral service will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Bizzarro Funeral Home, 171 Hills St. in Troy, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Troy.

George H. Teidman, 68
LOTTVILLE — George H. Teidman, 68, of Teidman Road, died Saturday at his son David's home on Route 150 in West Sand Lake after a long illness.
Born in Lottville, he was son of the late John and Augusta Mosenthin Teidman.
He had resided in Lottville for 18 years, in West Sand Lake from 1958 to 1986 and in Lottville since 1986.
He was educated at Oppenheim schools and served in the Air Force.
Mr. Teidman worked for the state Department of Environmental Conservation for 35 years, retiring as chief wildlife inspector in 1986.
He was a former chief of the Sand Lake Police Department, a special game protector for DEC and active in the state wildlife rehabilitators program.
He had been a town councilman in Oppenheim and was a representative for the Fulton County Office of the Aging and a member of the Oppenheim Senior Citizens. He also was a member of the West Sand Lake Fire Co.
Survivors include three sons, Dale J. and David W. Teidman, both of West Sand Lake, and Donald G. Teidman of Feura Bush; three sisters, Olga Teidman of St. Johnsville, Helen Keyser of Stratford and Gertrude Wyraz of Dolgeville; and three grandchildren. His daughter-in-law, Stacey Teidman, was his primary caregiver.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc., Route 150 in West Sand Lake.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 at Mr. Teidman's residence in Lottville, followed by a memorial boar roast.

Kevin D. Veltman, 45
LATHAM — Kevin D. Veltman, 45, of Watervliet-Shaker Road, died Saturday at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born in Albany, he was son of Charles E. and Alice I. Eckman Veltman of North Port, Fla.; and husband of Celia F. King Veltman of Latham.
He had resided in Latham for 16 years.
Mr. Veltman was a scheduler for Hamilton Printing in Castleton for 18 years.
He was a member of Big Brothers of America and many computer user groups.
Survivors, besides his parents and wife, include two sons, Vincent D. Martin of the U. S. Coast Guard and James D. Veltman of Albany; five sisters, Ingrid Bruck of Irving, Texas, Dana Testo of Stillwater, Leslie Keithline of Evergreen, Colo., Lynn-Erin Chesser of East Greenbush and Cory Veltman of San Anselmo, Calif.; three brothers, Mark Veltman of Rotterdam, Scott Veltman of Albany and Brett Veltman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a grandson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Burial will be in Capital City Cemetery in East Greenbush.

James M. Visk, 35
BALLSTON SPA — James Michael Visk, 35, formerly of Latham, died Friday at his residence.
Born in Troy, he was the son of Anthony J. Visk of Troy and Jane Hoyle Paul of Scotia.
Mr. Visk was a mason for Western Restoration Builders in Albany.
He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local Union 2.
He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush.
Survivors, besides his parents, include a sister, Anne Ince of Rochester; his maternal grandmother, Jeannette Hoyle of Schenectady; and a niece.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Bocketti Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Michael's Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum in Troy.

Horace W. Wells, 82
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Horace W. Wells, Sr., 82, of Sand Springs Road, died Sunday at his home after a long illness.
Born in Petersburgh, he was son of Clarence Malden and Stella Cinderella Babcock Wells.
He attended grade school in Berlin and Berlin High School.
Mr. Wells enlisted in the Army in 1941, serving in the South Pacific at Guadalcanal and was discharged in 1945.
He worked for Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, Mass., Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown and retired from Warren Wire in Pownal, Vt. in 1979.
He was a member of the Richard A. Ruether American Legion Post and the Dr. George L. Curran Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in North Adams, and the Disabled American Veterans in Pittsfield.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Hazel Addie Ritter Wells; a son, Horace W. Wells, Jr. of Williamstown; a stepson, Clifford C. Ritter of Williamstown; two daughters, Cinderella Church of Edgewood, Md., and Patricia Mativi of Pownal, Vt.; two sisters, Mary Cipperly of Hoosick Falls and Pamelia Neaton of Petersburgh; two brothers, C. Malden Wells of Watervliet and Wayne Wells of Troy; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel with Rev. Floyd LaBombard, pastor of the White Oaks Congo Church, officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery with military honors.

Luis M. Acevedo, 60
TROY — Luis M. Acevedo, 60, of Sixth Avenue, died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Pedro Acevedo and Antonia Lozada.
He was educated in Puerto Rico.
Mr. Acevedo had worked as a machinist at Tek Hughes in Watervliet and was a former member of the Almagamated Clothing Workers Union.
Survivors, besides his mother, include a daughter, Gloria A. Acevedo Miles of Johnstown and a grandson. He was the brother of, Pedro Luis Acevedo of Hoosick Falls, Pedro J. Acevedo of Troy, Gloria Acevedo of Troy, Angel Luis Acevedo of Troy, Aida and Alva Acevedo, both of Illinois, Israel Acevedo of Pennsylvania, Ventura Acevedo of Syracuse, Efrain Acevedo of Puerto Rico, Fernando Acevedo of Connecticut and Raymond Acevedo of Illinois.
The funeral will be held in Caguas. Burial will be in Monte Calvario in Caguas.

Robert F. Andrews, 76
TROY — Robert F. Andrews, 76, of Fourth Avenue, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Burlington, Vt., he was the son of the late George E. and Rose Bushey Andrews, and the husband of M. Rita Darfler of Lansingburgh.
Mr. Andrews was a sergeant in the Army's 83rd Bomb Squadron during World War II. He was awarded the American Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific, a Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
He worked in maintenance at Freihofer's in Albany for 20 years, retiring 14 years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Wojtaszek of Lansingburgh; a son, James Darfler of Wayne, Mich.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home Inc., 115th Street and Fourth Avenue in Lansingburgh, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery.

Gerard W. Daoust, 72
EAST GREENBUSH — Gerard Wilfred Daous, Sr., 72, of Michele Drive, died Wednesday at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a short illness.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Alfred G. and Yvonne Le Buis Daoust, and the husband of Delores Tagliento Daoust.
He resided in the East Greenbush area for many years.
Mr. Daoust worked for many years as a carpenter and retired from St. Anne's Institute in Albany as head of maintenance.
He was a member of the J.N. Ring Fire Co. in Rensselaer and a communicant of Holy Spirit Church in East Greenbush.
He also was a member of the Rocking Chair Senior Bowling League, the East Greenbush Fire Co. and Rensselaer Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, Gerard W. Daoust, Jr. and David J. Daoust; two daughters, Mary F. Daoust, and Deborah Wolf, all of East Greenbush; he was the brother of Rita Bigelow of Springfield, Mass., Alfred Daoust of Coxsackie, Yvette Cusick of Albany, Marie Ladouceur of North Greenbush, Yvonne Scully of Rensselaer, Irene Daoust of Rensselaer, Wilfred Daoust of Woodland, Calif., Annette Braman of Rensselaer, Ernest Daoust of East Greenbush, Franklinette Motler of East Greenbush, Bernard Daoust of Castleton, and Ronald Daoust of Schodack.
The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Saturday from the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, and at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in East Greenbush. A spring burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Greenbush.
