Lila Dearstyne, 88
TROY — Lila Bonesteel Dearstyne, 88, of Heritage House Nursing Center and formerly of Church Street in Wynantskill, died Tuesday at the center after a long illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Loren and Neva Wagar Bonesteel and wife of the late Lawrence S. Dearstyne.
She had resided in the Troy and Wynantskill areas all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Mrs. Dearstyne was a clerk for Rensselaer County Department of Social Services for several years, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, the Reformed Church Women and the Wynantskill Seniors.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Griswold of Lansingburgh Martha Colangelo of Eagle Mills; a sister Bertha Collier of Wynantskill; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday from First Reformed Church of Wynantskill with Rev. Sophie Mathonnet-VanderWell, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery.

Albert E. Hoffman, 82
EAST GREENBUSH — Albert E. Hoffman, 82, of Troy Road, died Monday at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.
Born and educated in Menands, he was son of the late Albert and Anna Hispschman Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman worked with the family business, Hoffman's Ice Sales, until 1940. He later operated the Tavern at Mid-City Park on Broadway in Menands; and retired in 1979 from Albany Steel, where he drove a truck.
Survivors include two daughters, Carole Morgan of Troy and Sandra Prediger of Schroon Lake; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner and Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy, with Rev. Ronald Mackey, associate pastor of Loudonville Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

Donald W. Hussey, 69
PLEASANTDALE — Donald W. Hussey, 69, of Hudson Avenue, died Monday at his residence after a long illness.
Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Foster R. and Marjorie Ormsby Hussey Sr. and the husband of Melissa Mary Stimpson Hussey.
Mr. Hussey was an Air Force veteran, serving in Germany from 1946 to 1948.
He had worked for several manufacturing companies and was a self- employed carpenter. After he retired in 1994, he worked part-time for Ken Goewey Dodge in Troy.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lansingburgh, the Veterans of Lansingburgh and the Charles J. Brady American Legion Post in Waterford.
Survivors include seven daughters, Donna Lee Napoli of Troy, Deborah Ann Peppin of Troy, Patricia L. Hussey of Schenectady, Jeannette L. Allen of Snyders Lake, Lorraine C. Hussey of Russell, Mass., Melissa M. Hussey of Troy, and Karen L. Rendon; four sons, Gene Wesley Hussey of Seattle, Brian K. Hussey of Massachusetts, David S. Hussey of Russell, Mass., and Donald Hussey Jr., of Troy; four brothers, Harry Hussey of Colonie, Stanton Hussey of Watervliet and Paul and Arthur Hussey, both of Troy; four sisters, Marjorie Graber of California, Yvonne Jones of East Greenbush, and Sandra L. and Dale M. Hussey, both of Troy; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the Brunswick Presbyterian Church with Rev. Harry Heintz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.

Ann Ives, 92
WATERFORD — Ann Crutchley Ives, 92, of Third Street, formerly of Beechwood Community in Troy and Dutch Village in Menands, died Wednesday at the home of her caregiver, Mildred VanBuskirk.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter ofthe late John F. and Catherine E. Evans Crutchley and the widow of Legrand Ives.
She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
Mrs. Ives retired in 1973 as a supervisor for the state Department of Insurance after 42 years of service.
She was a former communicant of St. Peter's Church in Troy.
Survivors include a step-daughter-in-law, Ann Ives of Greenwich; five step-grandchildren; and her friend, Mildred VanBuskirk
The funeral will be private under direction of the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home in Lansingburgh. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.

James Keefe, 83
COLONIE — James "Yipper" Keefe Sr., 83, of the Albany County Nursing Home, formerly of Cohoes, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy.
Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Henry and Catherine Mullen Keefe and husband of the late Mary Clara Keefe.
Mr. Keefe lived in Cohoes most of his life and attended Cohoes schools.
Mr. Keefe retired in 1979 from the maintenance department of the Cohoes City School District. Prior to that he worked for the former Empire Cotton Co. in Cohoes.
He was a communicant of St. Agnes-St. Patrick's Parish in Cohoes. He was a member of the Polish American Association PNA Group 2462 in Cohoes and was a coach for the Cohoes Intermediate Baseball League.
Survivors include a son, James S. Keefe Jr. of East Greenbush; two sisters, Gladys Keefe and Theresa Towne, both of Cohoes; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes and at 9 a.m. at St. Agnes-St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.

Marie Louden, 95
NORTH GREENBUSH — Marie Louden, 95, died Friday at the Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.
Born in Albany, she lived in the Capital Region all her life.
Ms. Louden was retired from the Housekeeping Department at Child's Hospital in Albany.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.

Mary McCloskey, 82
WATERVLIET — Mary Fuchs McCloskey, 82, of 12th Avenue, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Karoline Engel Fuchs and widow of Stephen J. McCloskey.
A resident of Watervliet for most of her life, Mrs. McCloskey worked for the Norton Co. in Watervliet for more than 35 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Papermakers Union and the Norton Retiree Club.
She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Watervliet and was a member of its Rosary Society.
She enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include a brother, Michael S. Fuchs of Latham.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, and at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Colonie.

Shirley D. McLoughlin, 83
LATHAM — Shirley D. McLaughlin, 83, of Latham, died Tuesday at Hallmark Nursing Centre in Schenectady after a long illness.
Born in Minneapolis, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Shirley and Edna Ashley Drake and widow of J. Karl McLaughlin.
As a young girl she moved to Long Beach, Calif., where she received her education. She graduated from Scripps College in Clarmont, Calif., and Stanford School of Nursing.
She later moved to Wenham, Mass. where she lived for 11 years and resided in Latham since 1949.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a registered nurse at Shaker High School in Latham for 16 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Troy.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Montgomery of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three sons, James D. McLaughlin of Albany, John S. McLaughlin of Latham and Hugh S. McLaughlin of Groton, Mass.; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be private. Burial will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bowen Funeral Home in Latham.

Irving S. Miller, 80
RENSSELAER — Irving S. Miller, 80, of Lindbergh Ave., died Friday at Grand Stand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Born in Albany, he was the husband of Doris I. Dumas Miller of Rensselaer. He lived most of his life in Rensselaer.
Mr. Miller was a supervisor for Sterling Drug Co. in Rensselaer, retiring in 1978 after 36 years service.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, where he was a district deputy and past grand master.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Chemical and Hose Co. 4, and the Gerald O'Neil American Legion Post, both in Rensselaer.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the 931st Signal Battalion in the China-Burma-India Theater.
He was very active in Rensselaer Little League and was a founder of the Babe Ruth League in Rensselaer. He also played softball for the fire company.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith A. Miller Skiff of Nashua, N.H.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave. in Rensselaer. Burial will be in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.

Richard L. Raut, 66
MECHANICVILLE — Richard L. Raut, 66, of County Route 75, died Sunday at his residence.
He was a Tully, Onondaga County, native and lived there prior to moving to Mechanicville in 1967.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air National Guard at Hancock Field.
Mr. Raut retired as manager of the Sears Store in Colonie. He was the former owner and operator of the Tully Atlantic Gas Station.
He was a member of the Plumb Brook Fish & Game Club in Mechanicville.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Hare Raut; two sons, Richard J. Raut of Mechanicville and David L. Raut of Amsterdam; a daughter, Darlene Ormsby of Mechanicville; a sister, Larraine Davis of Hendersonville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. today at the Hartwell Funeral Home, 11 Clinton St., Tully. Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery.
