James Douglas McQueen Sr. of Bloomingburg, an insurance agent for Allstate Insurance in Chester, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 58 years of age.
The son of Dr. Douglas McQueen and the late Gertrude Clark McQueen, he was born July 15, 1941, in Middletown.
A graduate of Peekskill Military Academy and the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, he was a member of Monhagen Hose Co. #1 and the Ramapo Valley Ultra-Light Club.
In a family statement, it was said, "A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Jim's family and friends were the most important sources of enjoyment in his life. He shared his love of flying with his son Jimmy and his love of the outdoors with his sons Keith, Brian and Jeffrey. Many people were touched by his kindness, love and generosity. He will be greatly missed."
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Watkins McQueen, at home; four sons, Jeffrey S. Reid of Vails Gate, Brian K. Reid and his wife, Karen, of Pine Bush, and James Jr. and Keith A. McQueen, both of Blomingburg; five grandchildren, Victoria, Allison, Zachary, Kaitlin and Emily; his father, Dr. Douglas McQueen; a sister, Joan McQueen of Peekskill; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanor and Joseph Watkins of Circleville.
A Service of Remembrance was held Thursday at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home in Middletown with the Rev. Kenneth Wonderland officiating.
Burial was made in the Wallkill Cemetery in Phillipsburg.
Rhea L. Ashworth
Homemaker, 91
Rhea L. Ashworth of Westbrookville, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at the Middletown Park Manor Nursing Home in Middletown. She was 91 years of age.
The daughter of the late Omar D. and Martha V. Shaub Fellows, she was born April 22, 1909, in Burnside. She was the widow of Harold L. Ashworth Sr. who died July 18, 1991.
Mrs. Ashworth was a member of the Westbrookville United Methodist Church in Westbrookville.
She is survived by five sons, Harold L. Ashworth Jr., Robert E. Ashworth and Richard A. Ashworth, all of Westbrookville, David P. Ashworth of Little Mountain, S.C., and Walter E. Ashworth of Union, Me.; a daughter, Janet McCarthy of Poughkeepsie; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home in Port Jervis with the Rev. James Beukelman officiating.
Burial was made in the Westbrookville Cemetery in Westbrookville.
Rita Moshier
Homemaker, 71
Rita Moshier of Grahamsville, a homemaker and a longtime area resident, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at her home. She was 71 years of age.
The daughter of the late George E. and Cora Irwin Sheeley, she was born January 5, 1929, at home in Grahamsville.
Mrs. Moshier was a member of the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Irving Moshier, at home; three children and their spouses, Edward and Carol Moshier of Grahamsville, Mary Ann and Gedney Mackey of Milton and Cindy and Barry Wagner of Montgomery; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Moshier, a son, Wesley "Skip" Moshier and a brother, Earl Sheeley.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Ulster Heights Cemetery with the Rev. PeggyAnn Sauerhoff officiating.
Cremation was private.

Frank A. Schrader of Youngsville, a security guard for Burns Security at the Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at his home. He was 63 years of age.
The son of Allen and Elizabeth Marshall Schrader, he was born August 13, 1936, in Livingston Manor.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Korea and Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Smith Schrader, at home; three daughters, Renee Ripa of Downsville, Lisa Pietrucha of Youngsville and Kim Pazzuti of Springville; two sons, Frank A. Schrader Jr. of Livingston Manor and Chan Edwards of Youngsville; three sisters, Joan Pellam and Louise Mester, both of Liberty, and Fran Kleingardner of Florida; a brother Morris Schrader of Monticello; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Leonore Kaus.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville
Cremation was made at the Twin Tiers Crematory in Endicott.

Dorothy A. Menza of Highland Mills, a retired sales representative for Sears, Roebuck & Company in Nanuet and a four-year area resident, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at her home. She was 70 years of age.
The daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Cerrato Florio, she was born February 11, 1930, in the Bronx.
Mrs. Menza was a former volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Menza Sr., at home; a son, William J. Menza Jr. of Nanuet; a daughter, Donna Dunnigan of Goshen; a brother, Vincent Florio of Wellington, Fla.; two sisters, Anne Tirico of Suffern and Rose Arcaro of Bloomingburg; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Loffredo.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Patrick's Church in Highland Mills with the Rev. Sebastian Pandarathikudiyil officiating.
Entombment was made in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

Alida I. Lloyd Shaver of Bloomingburg, a former owner of Westtown Video in Westtown and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Robert and Gussie Knox Lloyd, she was born September 23, 1925, in Hazel.
Mrs. Shaver was a member of the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glenford Shaver, at home; three children, Cathy Danzisen and Mark Shaver, both of Bloomingburg, and Judith Hosking of Monticello; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance was held Monday at the Applebee- McPhillips Funeral Home in Middletown with the Rev. Betty Beach officiating.
Interment was made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.
Carmine A. Macedonio

Carmine Anthony Macedonio of Monticello, an owner, trainer and driver of Standardbred race horses for 23 years and a longtime area resident, died on Monday, July 3, 2000, at theSeelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris after a battle with cancer. He was 40 years of age.
The son of Dominic Anthony and Mary Corcoran Macedonio, he was born June 21, 1960, in Bayshore, L.I.
Mr. Macedonio was a member of the Monticello Harness Horsemen's Association, the United States Trotting Association, the New York State Racing Commission, the Macedonio Gun Club and the Royal Associates Softball Team.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Carole Brewer Macedonio, a son, Ryan Anthony Macedonio and a daughter, Angela Mary-Christine Macedonio, all at home; his parents, both of Monticello; four sisters, Dolores Willson of Deland, Fla., Maryann P. Drobysh of Rock Hill, Michele Caruso of Leland, N.C., and Melissa Macedonio of Monticello; seven nieces and nephews, Michael, Megan, Amanda, Emily, Tiffany, Cristie and Chauncey Jr.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Peter's R.C. Church in Monticello.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Doris Cleo Buckner of Woodridge, an administrative secretary for the personnel department at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello and a longtime area resident, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 60 years of age.
The daughter of the late Leo Sr. and Chanie Poole Harris, she was born October 27, 1939, in Hartsville, S.C.
A member of the First Baptist Church in South Fallsburg, Mrs. Buckner was also a member of the church choir. She was a member of Starlight Chapter #74, Order of the Eastern Star, and was very instrumental in establishing the Yogi Committee, an organization to encourage youth.
In a family statement, it was said, "We hold many memories of Doris close to our hearts. She gave her all to God, family and friends. Rejoice, she has departed this world, only to enter a new, joyous and glorious land. Her new home is heaven."
She is survived by her husband, Donald H. Buckner of Woodridge; three children, Theresa Corley and her husband, Edward, Donald Buckner Jr. and his wife, Letise, and Stacey Buckner; nine grandchildren, Corey, Justin, Alana, Shannon, Tyrell, Sean, Cheron, Alicia and Darius; a sister, Rosetta Toran of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Leo Cornelius Harris of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a host of nieces and nephews; and many close relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Harris.
Funeral services were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in South Fallsburg with the Rev. Anthony Black officiating.
Interment was made in the Rock Ridge Cemetery.

Kathleen Morelli of White Lake, an emergency medical technician for Hudson Valley Ambulance Service and a 28-year area resident, died suddenly Thursday, June 29, 2000, in Burlington, N.J. She was 46 years of age.
The daughter of Jean Stokeom and the late Anthony Nolan, she was born December 9, 1953, in New Jersey.
She is survived by her fiance, Richard L. Miller of White Lake; her mother, Jean VanBuskirk of White Lake; a daughter, Jennifer Morelli of New Port Richey, Fla.; a brother, Patrick Nolan of Texas; and two sisters, Eugenia Figliozzi of New Port Richey, Fla., and Mary Ann Brownhill of White Lake.
Memorial services were held Sunday in The Church of the Nazarene in Rock Hill with the Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.
Cremation was private.
