Mary F. Ramsdell (DeLong) died after a long illness at St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick on Friday, October 6, 2006. She was 88.
Born to Willard E. and Lena DeLong in Canada, she came to the U.S. in 1919 settling in Illinois. She has lived in the Highland Lakes section of Vernon Twp., N.J. since 1979.
Mrs. Ramsdell was a homemaker and was a member of the Warwick United Methodist Church in Warwick, where she also sang in the church choir and for the Community Choral Society.
She is the beloved wife of Paul A. Ramsdell of Highland Lakes, N.J.; devoted mother of Richard Ramsdell of Chester and Mark Ramsdell of Wilmington, Del., Terry Bloomsburgh of Berkeley, Calif., M. Christy Connell of Newark, Del. and Rebecca Robertson of San Francisco, Calif. Dear sister of Carolyn Desmond of Claryville; eight grandchildren and a great grandson.
Mrs. Ramsdell is predeceased by a daughter, Carol Ramsdell; and a sister, Kay Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at Warwick United Methodist Church, 135 Forest Avenue, Warwick, on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11 a.m.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to the Children's Home Society of New Jersey, 635 Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08611 would be appreciated.

Arleen Joyce "Sis" Barker of Newburgh, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 55.
Daughter of Kathleen Butler Williams and the late David Williams, she was born May 20, 1951 in Catskill.
She was married to James Barker who survives in Peekskill.
A family statement reads: "You are always walking through our hearts and minds. You were the best mom, daughter, sister and friend anyone could ask for."
Arleen was a 1970 graduate of Greenville Central High School.
She is survived by her daughters, Brandi Barker of Roscoe, and Kathrene Barker of Newburgh; her brother, Terry Williams of Greenville; her sisters, Nancy Palmer of Hannacroix and Janice O'Leary of Athens; her granddaughter, Eryn Dutcher; her niece, Becky Palmer and nephews, Kyle O'Leary and Zeb Barker.
She was predeceased by her brother, David C. Williams and her sister, Sandra Williams.
A Graveside Service will take place at noon on Tuesday, October 17 at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville.

Herman Engelmann
Truck Driver, 55
Herman F. Engelmann of Middletown passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006 with his family by his side at the Tucker Cancer Center of Orange Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 55.
The son of the late Herbert Engelmann and Harriet Botsford Engelmann, he was born February 1, 1951 in Callicoon and grew up in Narrowsburg.
He was employed by Ben Ciccone, Inc. of Poughkeepsie as a truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 445. He had a deep love for his family, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing pool.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Mulaparthi and Dr. Grundfast and the entire staff of Crystal Run Health Care, the staff at the Tucker Center, and Ms. Mary Ann D'Aloia of Orange & Sullivan Hospice for all of their efforts and concern. Although our hearts are broken, we know that they did everything that could be done.
In addition to his mother at home, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Marianne Engelmann of Monticello; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Joseph Thomas of Ridgely, Md.; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Calvin Foreman of Greenwill Springs, La.; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Wes Bowers of Middletown, nieces and nephews, Alicia and Carly Bowers at home in Middletown, Joseph Thomas and Danielle Thomas of Maryland, Michael Engelmann of Pennsylvania, and Ashley Boothe and Cassandra Engelmann of Monticello; a granddaughter, Brianna Engelmann; along with several grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by the daughter he adored, Tonya Engelmann, and a nephew, Gregory Thomas.
Services were held at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., Middletown on Sunday, October 15.
Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family, with private internment at the family's plot at the Slate Hill Cemetery in Goshen.

George A.Thompson Jr. of Swan Lake, passed away Friday, October 6, 2006 at his residence. He was 63 years old.
The son of Martha Thompson-Leeks and the late George Thompson Sr., George was born September 6, 1943 at Robinson County, N.C.
George was a retired Carpenter for Hudson Valley District Council of Carpenter, Middletown.
Survivors include mother, Martha Thompson-Leeks of Newburgh; companion, Phyllis Blenman of North Branch; two sons, Frederick Thompson of Flint, Mich. and George S. Thompson of Clinton, N.C.; three daughters, Shelia Ashford and husband, Jackie of Roseboro, N.C., Karen Spearman Greene and husband, Homer and Lena Jackson all of Newburgh; two brothers, Willie "Aaron" Thompson and Eddie "E.J." Thompson both of Newburgh; three sisters, Hannah Thompson of Poughkeepsie, Martha Jean Butler of Newburgh and Carol Treadwell and husband, Dean of Highland Falls; fourteen grandchildren, Audrianne, Nicholas, Jarvus and Rafeal Ashford all of Roseboro, N.C., Faithia, Byron, Damian, Fabian Greene, Marco Boykin, Shantia McFarland, Devonald, Dominick, and Donita Whitted all of Newburgh; eleven great grandchildren; one special nephew, Charles "Bohannon" Thompson of Newburgh; several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Meyer Rubenstein
Ret. Director of Ed., 94
Meyer Rubenstein, a longtime resident of Swan Lake and a retired Director of Education at Woodbourne Correctional Facility, died at home on Friday, October 13, 2006. He was 94.
Meyer was born in Brooklyn on November 23, 1911, the son of Jacob and Lena Feld Rubenstein. He was the widower of Mollie Wertman Rubenstein who died in 1999.
He is survived by his son, David Rubenstein and his wife, Bonnie of Mt. Tremper; his two daughters, Emily Lenhard and her husband, Phillip Pilato of Brooklyn and Jane Leslie Rubenstein at home in Swan Lake; and his three grandchildren, Rebekah and Dov Rubenstein and Jennifer Glenn; and his two great grandchildren, Megan and Elizabeth Glenn.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, October 16 in Temple Beth-El Cemetery, Route 17B, Bethel.

John Weissenfluh II, 90
John Andrew Weissenfluh II of Rockville, Md., a doctor of philosophy, died Saturday, March 2, 2002.
He is survived a niece and three nephews, Martha Lynn Atwood, Richard M. Weissenfluh, John Andrew Weissenfluh III and Kurt Von Weissenfluh; and other loving family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret E. Weissenfluh, and two brothers, Richard and Donald Weissenfluh.
Services were held Wednesday at the Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home in Rockville, Md.
Interment was made in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Jeffersonville.

Frank Drizhal Jr.
College Student, 21
Frank Drizhal Jr. of Callicoon, a college student and a 15-year area resident, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in Callicoon. He was 21 years of age.
The son of Frank Sr. and Eva Jarolim Drizhal, he was born July 22, 1980, in Queens.
He is survived by his parents of Callicoon; a brother, Jack Drizhal of Callicoon; his maternal grandparents, Eva and Milo Jarolim of Houston, Tex.; his paternal grandparents, Vlosta and Miroslav Drizhal of Prague, Czech Republic; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many special friends.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Cremation will be made at the Twin Tiers Crematory in Endicott.

Mary Oestrich
Homemaker, 98
Mary Oestrich a life long resident of Fernwood (Long Eddy), passed away peacefully on October 9, 2007 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris (SNU Unit). She was 98 and 7 months old.
Born March 16, 1909 in Rock Valley, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ida Bertha Tinklepaugh Emerich.
Mary was a homemaker until she and her late husband began Walt's T.V. Sales & Service in Callicoon where she worked side by side with Walter in the early days of local television. Mary was a member of the Rock Valley Church, as well as a member and organist of the Hankins Metho-dist Church for many years.
Mary and Walter had been married for 60 years on June 6, 1988 when on June 8, 1988, Walter had a fatal tractor accident on their farm which was very devastating to the family and the community.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Ethel Miller and her husband, Walter John Miller, of Jeffersonville and Alice Hadley Fredo and her husband, Pat Fredo, of Fremont Center; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Lindberg of Fernwood and Mabel Oestrich of Long Island; three sons-in-law, Walter J. Miller of Jeffersonville, Theodore Kutschera of Callicoon and Pat Fredo of Fremont Center; fourteen grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four daughters, Eleanor Clark of Freeport, Fla., Phyllis Schaefer of Jeffersonville, Irene Oestrich of Fernwood, Linda Kutschera of Callicoon; three sons-in-law, Clarence Schaefer, Walter Clark and Robert Hadley; one grandson, Gary Clark of Tennessee; also by her two brothers, Emmett Emerich of Hancock and Fred Emerich of Deposit; and four sisters, Jennie Peterson of Spokane, Wash., Thelma Hubbard of Otega and Elizabeth and Emily Emerich.
Friends may call at the Stewart Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon on Friday, October 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Stewart Murphy Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13th at noon with the Reverend Dennis Ubertini officiating.
Burial will be made in the Rock Valley Cemetery, Rock Valley.
