Eleanor Sienkiewicz of Goshen, a homemaker, a retired employee of Mechanical Rubber in Warwick and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, June 5, 2000, at St. Teresa's Nursing Home in Middletown. She was 84 years of age.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Grabowski Morgiewicz, she was born July 4, 1915, in Pine Island. She was the widow of Stanley P. Sienkiewicz.
Mrs. Sienkiewicz was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Pine Island.
She is survived by a sister, Isabelle Skutnik of Pine Island; three grandsons, Mark Sienkiewicz of Palm Bay, Fla., Gary Sienkiewicz of Bloomingburg and Eric Sienkiewicz of Campbell Hall; and six great-grandchildren, Brianne, Jamie, Joseph, Allison, Jacob and Julia. She was predeceased by a son, Stanley H. Sienkiewicz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Stanislaus Church in Pine Island with the Rev. Joaquim Olendzki officiating.
Burial was made in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pine Island.

John T. Maher
Ret. Contractor, 81
John T. Maher of Parksville, a retired self-employed contractor and a nine-year area resident, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at his home. He was 81 years of age.
The son of the late Carl and Mary Eckerd Maher, he was born December 11, 1918, in Jim Thorpe, Pa.
Mr. Maher was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by three sons, John T. Maher Jr. of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Christopher Maher of Lancaster, Pa., and Anthony S. Maher of Parksville; three daughters, Donna L. Maher of Parksville, Stephanie Maher of Isla Morada, Fla., and Valerie Ingoglia of Astoria; two brothers, Robert Maher and Francis Maher, both of Ocala, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Services were held Wednesday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.
Burial was made in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.
Elsie M. Oldfield, 81

Elsie Myra Oldfield of Howells, an attendant for the Middletown Psychiatric Center in Middletown for 25 years and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 81 years of age.
The daughter of the late Merritt and Cora Hiney Edwards, she was born September 19, 1918, in Lake Ariel, Pa. She was the widow of Reuben Oldfield.
Mrs. Oldfield is survived by two sons, Thomas Oldfield of Howells and Lawrence Oldfield of Roscoe; three daughters, Eileen Schwartz of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Debbie Cullin of Key Largo, Fla., and Virginia Shoemaker of California; a sister, Jessie Ball of Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Martin.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the New Vernon Church, Spruce Road, New Vernon, with the Rev. Stuart Stiles officiating.

Rita M. Kelly of Liberty, a retired director for the American Cancer Society in Monticello and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 79 years of age.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Long Moser, she was born November 27, 1920, in New York City.
Mrs. Kelly was a member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Leo J. Kelly, at home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and RaeAnn Kelly of Tacoma, Wash., Terrence and Elaine Kelly of White Sulphur Springs and Timothy and Carol Kelly of Liberty; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Moser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Church, 264 North Main St., Liberty with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty.

Alma R. Dungey of Livingston Manor, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at her home. She was 55 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles and Clara Hendrickson Edwards, she was born August 17, 1944, in Hazel.
In a family statement, it was said, "She was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her."
She is survived by five daughters, Valerie Edwards, Tanya Dungey and Vicky Dungey, all of Livingston Manor, Becky Ann Colton of the Bronx and Cher Bowers of Roscoe; a son, Glenn Dungey of Livingston Manor; two sisters, Betty Roland and Shirley Davis, both of Livingston Manor; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, with the Rev. Carl Stiglich officiating.
Burial will be made in the Orchard Street Cemetery in Livingston Manor.

George W. Holfeld of Narrowsburg, a retired accountant for Sullivan County Highway Products in Bridgeville, a lifelong area resident and winter resident of Sarasota, Fla., died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in Narrowsburg. He was 69 years of age.
The son of Alvin and Anna Stiene Holfeld, he was born October 11, 1930, in Narrowsburg.
Mr. Holfeld was a graduate of Narrowsburg Central School, attended Packard School of Finance in New York City, and was a graduate of Albany Business School.
He is survived by four sisters, Helen Bunis of Narrowsburg, Ann Iberger of Mongaup Valley and Joan Scheuren and Florence Billard, both of Narrowsburg; a longtime friend, Allen Finkbohner of Narrowsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church in Narrowsburg with the Rev. Thomas Jones officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Francis Cemetery in Narrowsburg.

June 20, 2000 -- Bernard "Bernie" Shore of Monticello, a retired former owner of the Chateau Restaurant in Monticello and a longtime area resident, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 72 years of age.
The son of the late Meyer and Anna Kaufman Shore, he was born April 12, 1928, in the Bronx.
Mr. Shore was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Jesse Brahms Post No. 209, Jewish War Veterans in Monticello. He was also a past president of the New York State Liquor Dealers, a past president and lieutenant governor of Kiwanis, a member of the Monticello Fire Department, the Elks Lodge #1544, and the Fallsburg Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Siegel Shore, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Christine Shore of Monticello; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ralph Papisdero of Pulaski, Va.; five grandchildren, Daniel, Nicole, Lacey, Ashley and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 186 Broadway, Monticello, with Rabbi Irwin Tanenbaum officiating.
Burial will be made in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.
Hulda Louise Intemann

Hulda Louise Intemann of Liberty, a lifelong area resident and a retired night operator for the New York Telephone Co., died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in Kingston. She was 88 years of age.
The daughter of the late William and Hulda Ohmstedt Intemann, she was born February 26, 1912, in Liberty.
Miss Intemann attended the Liberty High School. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liberty where she taught Sunday School and participated in St. Paul's Lutheran League. She more recently lived in Kingston under the care of Barbara Ashdown.
She is survived by a niece, Carol Intemann Contiguglia of Auburn; two grand-nephews and a sister-in-law, Elsie R. Intemann, all of Liberty; and several cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Carl, William and Robert Intemann.
A funeral service was held Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liberty with the Rev. Audrey Pedersen officiating.
Burial was made in the Liberty Cemetery in Liberty.

Sara Helena Marks O'Dell of Mongaup Valley, a homemaker and a 55-year area resident, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at her home. She was 77 years of age.
The daughter of the late Jesse and Margaret Langritz Marks, she was born September 6, 1922, in the Town of Shawangunk. She was the widow of Harold O'Dell who died in 1986.
Mrs. O'Dell was a member of the Bethel Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son, James Marks of Honesdale, Pa.; a daughter, Veronica Shook of Mongaup Valley; five grandchildren, Babette Shook, Melissa Shook, Christopher Marks, Holly Kay Marks and Seth Marks; and four and 8/9 great-grandchildren, Nicole Parks, Jessica Parks, Michael Frolio, Tiffany Frolio and Baby Sara (to be). She was predeceased by a son, David O'Dell, a brother, Clifford Marks and a sister, Jessie Marks Kukas.
Cremation was private at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
