Clara L. “Peggy” Gehris, nee Sprague of 14916 N. 19th Street, Lutz, Florida 33549, originally from Monticello, died on May 1, 2008 of cancer.
Her birthplace was in Lake Huntington.
Clara belonged to the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Lauraine Horbak; her son, Edgar Shook; beloved daughter-in-law, Veronica “Ronnie” Shook; six grandchildren; and seventeen great-grands.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Virginia Shook Lanza; two sons, Donald and Stanley; sister, Gertrude Eldred; and brothers, William and Chaucy Sprague.
Clara was cremated by Florida Mortuary Funeral & Cremation Services in Tampa, Fla.

Robert H. Bernzott
Operating Engineer, 76
Robert H. Bernzott, of Fremont Center, an operating engineer Local 138 Long Island, and 40 year resident of the area, died on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, in Liberty. He was 76.
Son of the late George F. and Ella Steinhauer Bernzott, he was born on October 24, 1931 in Hempstead.
He was married to Carolyn Hubert Bernzott.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hubert Bernzott; his children, Cheryl Bernzott, Janet Lally, Robert C. Bernzott, Nancy McQuellen and Connie Bernzott; two step-children Nina Gorton and Mark Hubert; one sister, Florence Puska, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the funeral home, at 11 a.m.
Bural will be in Callicoon Center Cemetery, Callicoon Center.

Douglas Bury
Proprietor, 88
Douglas Bury of Roscoe, retired owner of the Antrim Lodge Hotel and Douglas Bury Real Estate, and a lifelong resident, died peacefully at the home of his daughter in Englewood, Colo. on Friday, April 11, 2008. He was 88.
The son of the late Harvey and Ruth Kraft Bury, he was born March 17, 1920 in Roscoe.
Doug and his late wife, AnnaMae owned the Antrim Lodge Hotel and Restaurant from 1948 until 1983. He also owned Douglas Bury Real Estate from 1968 until 2006. He is a member of the Twin Village Golf Club; former member of the Roscoe Hose Co. #1, the Roscoe Kiwanis Club, and the New York State Hotel Assn., he served Our Country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. While stationed in the South Pacific, as a Staff Sergeant, he received two Bronze Stars; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include one son, Douglas K. Bury of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Mary Ellen “Mellie” Graves and her husband, Ernest of Tucson, Ariz., Betsy Parker and her husband, John of Englewood, Colo.; his grandchildren, Daniel Ficke, Sarah, Mary, Spencer and Claire Graves, Ann and Jack Parker; son-in-law, William Ficke; one brother, Ron Bury and his wife, Hildegard; sister-in-law, Norma Bury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, AnnaMae Keener Bury and his loving daughter, JoAnne Bury Ficke.
Visitation will be Friday, May 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. followed by a recitation of the Rosary in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31 at 10 a.m. at the Gate of Heaven Church, Highland Ave., Roscoe. Monsignor William Collins will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe.

Anita Lipschitz
Proprietor, 91
Anita Lipschitz, the former co-owner and operator of Dishner's Bungalow colony, and the widow of Isidore Lipschitz, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty. She was 91.
Anita was born in New York City on September 9, 1916, the daughter of Rubin and Rose Milchman Dishner. She was a life member of Hadassah, and a member of the South Fallsburg Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Annette Dishner of South Fallsburg; and her nephews, Sheldon Dishner and his companion, Linda Fox, Stephen Dishner and his wife, Brenda and Albert Dishner and his wife, Linda; her great-nieces and nephews, cousins and her extended family.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, William and Julius Dishner.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center for their caring and thoughtfulness.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. in the Workman Circle #281 Cemetery Marsh Rd., Glen Wild. Rabbi Yakov Barros will officiate.

Kathleen R. Galligan
Accounting Manager, 67
Kathleen R. Galligan of Oakland Valley passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 24, 2008. She was 67.
She was the daughter of James W. Rohner and Marion E. Berthiaume Rohner of Port Jervis. Kathleen was born in Port Jervis in 1941.
In 1961 she became the wife of Vincent C. Galligan, Sr. and together they built the family homestead in Oakland Valley. There Vincent and Kathleen raised a family of five in the comfortable confines along the Neversink River.
Kathleen was the co-owner of the family business, Berthiaume´s Neversink Lumber also in Port Jervis with her surviving brother James W. Rohner. She was also the Accounting Manager for Galligan Construction. Kathleen was an exceptionally hard working woman, with employees and their families as her first priority. Work was important, but family was more important. She was a member of St. Mary´s R.C. Church in Port Jervis and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Madonna No. 114, Port Jervis.
A family statement read, “Honey, Mom, Grandma or Grum was always happiest when her family was by her side.” Many cherished memories were made and will not be forgotten during the holiday seasons when all of the family was gathered as one. Boonville became their favorite getaway destination, with that cabin on the lake and July 4th celebrations.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Vincent C. Galligan, Sr. at home; her loving mother, Marion E. Rohner of Port Jervis; her five children, Vincent C. Galligan, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Oakland Valley, Joseph J. Galligan and his wife, Lisa of Boonville, daughter Marianne Ramos and her husband, Ignacio of Port Jervis and her daughter, Jean M. Miller and her husband, Earl of Port Jervis, son, Shawn E. Galligan and his wife, Candice of Oakland Valley; her brother, James W. Rohner and his wife, Maryann of Port Jervis; 15 grandchildren,Vincent III and his wife, Jeni, Scott and his Fiance, Michele Weidel, Ashley, Sarah, Zachary, Nicholas, Patrick, Elena, Kelsey, Christopher, Joshua, Brenna, Kristen, Daniel and Shawn; also many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her father, James W. Rohner and her grandson, Joseph J. Galligan, Jr.
A Christian Wake Service was held on Sunday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Madonna No. 114, Port Jervis held a service at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 28, 2008 with a prayer at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Father George Hafemann officiated.
Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.

Ret. Sales Clerk, 81
Natalie Goldman of Burley, Idaho, a former Parksville resident and a retired sales clerk for Marcia's in Liberty, died Friday, May 25, 2001, in Idaho. She was 81 years of age.
The daughter of the late Morris and Jennie Schneider, she was the widow of Sam Goldman.
Mrs. Goldman was a member of the Parksville Synagogue.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Eldon Davis of Burley, Idaho, and Myrna and Fred Hutt of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Hortense Saperstein of Peekskill; a brother, Stanley Schneider of the state of Florida; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bernard and Mae Goldman of Liberty.
Services were held Wednesday in Burley, Idaho.
Private burial will be made in the Parksville Synagogue Cemetery.

Beatrice Bauer of Swan Lake, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at her home after a long illness. She was 67 years of age.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Bridgette Hickey McCloskey, she was born July 23, 1933, in the Bronx.
She is survived by her loving husband and lifelong best friend, John Bauer, at home; a son, Edward Bauer of Swan Lake; three daughters, Maryann Wood of Napanoch, Theresa Bauer of White Sulphur Springs, and Catherine Bauer of East Moriches; six grandchildren, Christopher Wood, Norma-Jean Wood, Samantha Wood, Jason Davey, Danielle Lacek and George Lacek; three sisters, Mary Reardon, Margaret Williams and Anita Smith, and a brother, John McCloskey, all of the Bronx.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday at St. Peter's R.C. Church in Liberty with Msgr. Edward Straub officiating.
Burial was made in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery in Liberty.

Ruth Adrean, 78
Ruth Adrean, a resident of the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at the Adult Care Center. She was 78 years of age.
The daughter of the late Everett E. and Sarah R. Smith Adrean, she was born June 13, 1922, in Englewood, N.J.
She is survived by the staff and her friends at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center.
Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday at the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Ginel officiating.
