Lisa Martha Pikul Clark of Chester, S.C., formerly of Monticello, died January 18, 2007. She was 43.
She was born December 22, 1963 in Liberty to Susan Napolitano and the late Charles Anthony Pikul Sr.
A family statement reads, "Lisa was a true miracle with a vast free will. She lived life to the fullest and was smart, funny and generous even when she had nothing left to give. She was a strong person who triumphed over life's hardships. She loved her family and friends deeply and will sadly be missed forever. Lisa will always be remembered for who she was, who she became, and how our lives have been changed from having known her. She will always be a hero to us all."
The family would like to thank the Uriel Presbyterian Church Community of Chester, S.C., and all of Lisa's family and friends for your love and support through the years.
Survivors include her mother, Susan Napolitano and her husband, Skip of Chester, S.C.; son, Troy Hindley and girlfriend, Samantha Bischert of Chester, S.C.; grandson, Troy Hindley Jr. of Chester, S.C.; brother, Charles Pikul Jr. and girlfriend, Carlene Pheister of Huguenot; sister, Mary Pikul of Hatfield, Pa.; nieces and nephews, Kayla, Krysten, Samantha, and Andrew; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Curtis E. Boyd
Painter, 64
Curtis E. Boyd of South Fallsburg died Saturday, January 20, 2007 after a short illness at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 64.
Curtis was born in Greenville, Miss., the son of the late Jack and Pearline Boyd. He was employed as a painter, auto mechanic and in other various trades.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his longtime companion Patricia "Pat" Jamroz; her daughter, Andrea Olshewitz; and granddaughter, Noelle of New Jersey; and other close extended family members and many friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, Woodbourne. Cremation was made at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, 256 Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY 12754.
Denis A. Distel
Jeweler, 54
Denis A. Distel of Ellenville, a jeweler at D and D Jewelers of Ellenville and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains. He was 54 years of age.
The son of the late Leonard M. and Ann Mary Farrell Distel, he was born August 9, 1948, in Veterans Memorial Hospital in Ellenville.
Mr. Distel was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Leonard M. and Brenda Distel of Ulster Heights; a godson, Timothy Michael Distel; six cousins, Brian Cassidy of Charlotte, N.C., George Cassidy of San Francisco, Calif., Kenny and Sheila Distel and Bruce and Carol Distel, all of Ulster Heights; his companion, Debbie Fleischner of New York City; and a nephew, Andrew McCabe of Port Ewen.
Friends may call at the Loucks Funeral Home, Route 209, Ellenville, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 42 Woodbourne.
Burial will be made in the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.

A committal service will be held for Frances E. Lake of Monticello, who died November 15, 2002, on Sunday, March 30. Friends may gather at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, at 1:15 p.m. and then proceed to the Orchard Street Cemetery, Livingston Manor, where committal and burial will be held with the Rev. Alex McLean officiating.
Pauline M. Scott
Homemaker, 100
Pauline M. Scott of Florida, a former resident of Livingston Manor and a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at St. Teresa's Nursing Home in Middletown. She was 100 years of age.
The daughter of the late Oscar Verne and Ida May Moxley Dyer, she was born January 28, 1903, in Kuttawa, Kty. She was the widow of Allen J. Scott who died 17 years ago.
It was said that "Pauline was a plucky lady who, at 17, was a barnstorming wing walker and parachute jumper, performing in Long Beach, Calif. She went on to live the quiet life of wife and mother but the spirit of the wing walker never deserted her."
During her 35 years as a resident of Las Vegas, Nev., she presided as Worthy Matron in 1956 of South Gate Chapter #18, Order of the Eastern Star, and was Worthy High Priestess in 1966 of Starlight Shrine #1 of the Order of White Shrine.
A resident of Sullivan and Orange counties since 1986, Mrs. Scott was a member of the Lew Beach United Methodist Church and the Lew Beach Helping Hands.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Melanie Stewart of Bloomfield, Minn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Julius Harburger of Florida, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Stephen, Paul and Jay Harburger, Mary Sue Rynecki and her husband, Nick, and Linda Park and her husband, Matt; a great-grandson, David Rynecki and his wife, Marcia; two great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Vickers Rynecki and Carter Vickers Rynecki.
A memorial service will be held at the Lew Beach Methodist Church in the month of May with the Rev. Kathryn Loizeaux officiating.
Burial will be made in the Lew Beach Cemetery.

Douglas Garbarini

Douglas C. Garbarini of Bloomingburg, a retired employee of AT&T, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at his home. He was 86 years of age.
The son of the late Eugene and Pasqualina Costa Garbarini, he was born October 22, 1916, in Brooklyn.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Brooklyn, and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Stanton Garbarini, at home; a sister, Helen Pedalino of Brooklyn; three nephews, Marc Silvestri of Brooklyn, and Brian Nelson and Bert Nelson, both of Connecticut; and three nieces, Marilyn Pedalino of Brooklyn, Barbara Seelin of Long Island and Beth Soscia of Connecticut.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, High St., Bloomingburg, with Fr. Raymond Bagdonis, O. Carm., officiating.
Burial will be made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.

Irene M. Burday
Ret. Teacher, 78
Irene Meiskin Burday of East Falmouth, Mass., a retired school teacher and one-time assistant principal of the religious school at Temple Sholom in Monticello, died Sunday, September 29, 2002, in Falmouth Hospital after a long illness. She was 78 years of age.
The daughter of Aaron and Frieda Meiskin, she was born April 20, 1924, in Poland. When five years of age, she immigrated to the United States.
Mrs. Burday graduated from Moravian College in Pennsylvania and received her Master's degree in Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She taught elementary school in Rockland County for many years. She was very active in Jewish education and, as well as her time in Monticello, she also taught classes at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation.
She was a regional vice president for Hadassah and was active in Brandeis Women.
Mrs. Burday is survived by her husband, Dr. Seymour Burday, at home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Madeline Burday, of Poughkeepsie and Irving and Claire Burday of Middletown; four grandchildren, Rachel and Alex Burday of Poughkeepsie and Jaclyn and Rebecca Burday of Middletown; a sister, Anne Holzman of Reading, Pa.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Morton and Muriel Meiskin of Freehold, N.J.
Services were held Tuesday at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation.
Burial was made in the Falmouth Jewish Cemetery.

Jacob Skinner Jr.
Ret. Businessman, 75
Jacob "Jake" Skinner Jr. of Liberty, a former resident of Pulaski and Volney, died Sunday, September 29, 2002, He was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Dorothy and Jacob Skinner Sr., he was born August 24, 1927, in Ellenville.
A World War II veteran of the United States Army, he served under Gen. George S. Patton and served at the Nuremberg Trials in Germany in the Military Police. He was a friend of the Hamlin-Weldon Post of the American Legion and a friend of the Oswego Valley Railroad Association, both in New Haven.
Mr. Skinner worked for the New York Ontario and Western Railroad as an assistant station agent and also for Fuelane in Liberty. He formerly owned Skinner's Meter and Regulator Repair shop in Liberty.
He was a life member of Ontario Hose #3 Fire Company and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, both in Liberty. He was active with the Boy Scouts and served as a scoutmaster for many years.
Mr. Skinner is survived by his wife, Ruth Hyzer Skinner of Liberty; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Frank McCoy of Liberty, Debra and Martin Fisher of Pulaski and Nancy and Charles Gabriel of Liberty; a daughter-in-law, Roni Skinner Evans of Neversink; two sisters, Marge Boxberger of Delaware and Mildred Keegan of Kenoza Lake; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, John T. Skinner Sr., who died in 1975; a sister, Gwendolyn Allen and two brothers, Frederick Skinner and Robert Skinner.
Cremation was private.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 170 North Main St., Liberty, with the Rev. Francis Waite officiating.
Burial will be made in the Sullivan County Veterans' Cemetery.

Kevin J. Carlson
Ret. SC DPW, 47
Kevin J. Carlson of Livingston Manor, retired from the Sullivan County Department of Public Works and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, September 30, 2002, He was 47 years of age.
The son of Erma Knack Carlson and the late David A. Carlson, he was born March 10, 1955, in Liberty.
Mr. Carlson was a member and past Parish Council member of St. Aloysius Church and a member of the Livingston Manor Lions Club, both in Livingston Manor. He was also a Meals on Wheels volunteer since 1999.
He is survived by his mother, at home; two brothers, Gary D. Carlson and his wife, Susan, and Glen T. Carlson, all of Livingston Manor; a sister, Patricia A. Crane and her companion, Norman J. Meyer of South Fallsburg; seven nieces and nephews, Andrew D. Carlson, Christina C. Marchese, Stewart K. Crane, Mary L. Crane, Ryan T. Carlson, Jesse L. Carson and Brandon G. Carlson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home in Livingston Manor on Thursday with the Rev. William Collins officiating.
Burial was made in the Beaverkill Cemetery in Beaverkill.
