Sita D. Koletar, 25
Daniel Koletar and his wife, Sita Davi Koletar, both of San Diego, Calif., died as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Kauneonga Lake on Thursday, July 31, 2003. He was 26 years of age and she was 25.
The son of Judith Agrella Koletar and the late John Koletar, he was born November 26, 1976, in Monticello.
She was the daughter of Philip and Patricia Carrozza Gallelli and was born September 28, 1977, in New York City.
They had come from California to attend the funeral of his father who was buried on Wednesday, July 30.
Mr. Koletar was a custom spa builder for Ultra Bath in Escondido, Calif. Mrs. Koletar was a payroll supervisor for Birmingham Press in San Diego.
In a family statement, it was said, "Daniel and Sita radiated with love and happiness. They were the embodiment of true love. Always in the service of Krsna."
They are survived by two children, Rasa Lila Koletar, aged 8, and Chaitin Daniel Koletar, 11 months old, both of San Diego. He is also survived by his mother and step-father, Edward Langenfeld of Rock Hill; three brothers, Brian Mieczkowski of Warwick, Shane Mieczkowski of Rock Hill and John Reeves of Mongaup Valley.
She is also survived by her mother, her father and step-mother, Lory Gallelli, four sisters, Priya Gallelli, Sunita Gallelli, Janaki Gallelli and Daniella S. Holliday and her husband, Kevin, and two brothers, Julien Strampello and his wife, Melody, and Arjuna Gallelli, all of San Diego.
A memorial service will be held for them on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello.
A second memorial service will be held in San Diego, Calif., at a future date.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Regina Goldstein
Ret. Poultry Farmer, 79
Regina Goldstein of Marietta, Ga., a survivor of the Holocaust and a former longtime resident of Swan Lake, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at her home. She was 79 years of age.
Having overcome great adversity, she came to the United States in 1949 with her husband, Irving Goldstein. Before retiring in 1999, Mrs. Goldstein and her husband owned and operated Goldstein's Poultry Farm.
Mrs. Goldstein was a member of Congregation Temple Beth-El in Kauneonga Lake and the Bethel Chapter of Hadassah. A vibrant, dedicated and active member in the community, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Irving Goldstein, at home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Claire and Neill Nichols and Marcia Jill Goldstein and John Sherwin; and four grandchildren, Adam and Samantha Nichols and Alexander and Jacob Sherwin, all of Marietta, Ga.
Services were held Sunday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello with Rabbi Irwin Tanenbaum officiating.
Burial was made in the Temple Beth-El Cemetery in Bethel.

Rev. Irene Genco
Ret. Pastor, 89
The Rev. Irene Genco of Bloomingburg, formerly of Jackson Heights and the retired pastor of Trinity Assembly of God Church in New York City, died Saturday, July 26, 2003. She was 89 years of age.
The daughter of the late Maria and Joseph Magliato, she was born May 21, 1914. She was the widow of Sam Genco.
She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church in Middletown.
In a family statement, it was said, "Irene 'Nana' will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and loved her. We rejoice in knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord in Heaven."
Rev. Genco is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Nestor Perez of Thompson Ridge and Marie and Joseph Quinones of Princeton Junction, N.J.; six grandchildren,; Dawn Darrell, Troy Perez, Joseph "Billy-Joe" Quinones, Kim Michelle Ruoff, Jennifer Carlisle and Keri-Ann Quinones; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Marie Darrell, Angelo "AJ" Joseph Quinones and Anthony Saverio Quinones; several nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law.
Services were held in Trinity Assembly of God in New York City with the Rev. Joseph Maldonado and Angelo Rivera officiating.
Burial was made Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.

UPS Employee, 34
Robert R. Case of Narrowsburg, a lifelong area resident and an employee of UPS, died Friday, August 6, 2004, in Bethel. He was 34 years of age.
The son of Ed and Gail O'Connell, he was born September 9, 1969, in Port Jervis.
A member of Teamster Union Local #177, Mr. Case especially enjoyed sharing outdoor activities with his family. He was a former member of the Narrowsburg Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Maryrose Case, and two daughters, Michelle and Danelle Case, all at home; his parents of Narrowsburg; a sister, Debby Janowski of Narrowsburg; a brother, Allen H. Taylor of St. Cloud, Minn.; three step-brothers, Leonard O'Connell of Leesville, S.C., Edward O'Connell Jr. of Cape Coral, Fla., and James O'Connell of Elizabethtown, Kty.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rosemary and Thomas Krzemieniecki of Honesdale, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, Thomas and Robert, both of Honesdale, Pa.; his godparents, Jeanette Kennedy and Ronald Cahall, both of Evans City, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Rasmussen Funeral Home in Narrowsburg with the Rev. Thomas Jones, OFM, officiating.
Private burial will be made in the Beaver Brook Cemetery.

Dennis M. Brock of Downsville, a stonecutter and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, August 6, 2004, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
The son of the late Donald and Betty Wilbur Brock, he was born January 17 1947, in the Town of Colchester.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rose Beers Brock, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Cheryl Brock of Berne; a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Benjamin McGowan of Downsville; four brothers, Gary Brock of Fishs Eddy, Frank Brock of Florence, S.C., Martin Brock of Roscoe and Milton Brock of Walton; three sisters, Anna Brock of Roscoe, Susan Shaw of Hamden and Dorothy Brock of Livingston Manor; five grandchildren, Marvin and Zachary Bertholf of Downsville, Shelby McGowan of Downsville and Troy and Krista Brock of Schenectady; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Knorr Funeral Home in Downsville on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be made in Paige Cemetery in Downsville.
Sidney Sugarman
Sidney Sugarman of Youngsville and Delray Beach, Fla., died Thursday, August 5, 2004.
He was the son of the late Bessie and Benjamin Sugarman.
In a family statement, it was said, "You will be missed more than words can ever express. We love you."
Mr. Sugarman is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred Sugarman, at home; four daughters and their families, Barbara Kravitz, Jayne and Kenneth Steinglass, Caryn and Jim Andersen and Tracy and Richard Mindess; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two nephews and their wives, Irwin and Yvonne Slobody and Ken and Davida Slobody.
Services were held Sunday at the Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York City.
Shiva will be held at the home of Jayne and Ken Steinglass in Valley Cottage on Tuesday.

Joan Neiger of Narrowsburg, a retired bookkeeper and secretary for Lang Industries and a longtime resident of the area died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pa. She was 76.
The daughter of the late James and Lillian Carmody Green, she was born July 20, 1930, in Brooklyn.
She was the widow of the late Donald Neiger, Sr. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, Narrowsburg and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
A family statement reads, Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a special person. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Donald Neiger and his wife, Elaine of Narrowsburg, her daughter, Michelle Cole and her husband, Michael of Beach Lake, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Kelsey and Nicholas Neiger of Narrowsburg and Tim Neiger of Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Narrowsburg, with the Rev. William Scully, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Narrowsburg.

William “Bill” Nieke
Ret. DPW Wrkr., 90
William “Bill” Nieke of Barryville, a retired Sullivan County DPW worker and a longtime resident of the area, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty. He was 90.
The son of the late William and Barbara Knapp Nieke, he was born November 21, 1916 in New York City.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of the Eldred American Legion and the Greely VFW.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Nieke of Yulan and Richard Nieke of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Terry Burckard and her husband, Paul of Eldred; three grandchildren, Jimmy Nieke of Yulan, Kim Burckard of Eldred and Nicki Burckard of Albany.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Margaret Clemm Nieke, who passed away on February 23, 2007 and his brother, George Nieke.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
