Bernadine S. "Billie-Jo" Cole Hust, a life-long area resident, died at home on October 5, 2004. She was 40.
The daughter of James Cole Sr. and the late Penny C. Jones Cole, she was born in Liberty on July 16, 1964.
She was a self employed craft maker.
Survivors include her husband, Gregory at home, 2 children, John and Mary Ellen Hust, her father James Cole, Sr. of Ferndale and many dear relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kristen Anderson officiating.
Cremation will be at the Twin Tiers Crematory in Endicott.
Clifford Gibson
Ret. Truck Driver, 84
Clifford "Hoot" Gibson, of West Palm Beach, FL, died October 1, 2004 in West Palm Beach. He was 84.
The son of George and Maria Reynolds Gibson, he was born September 13, 1920 in Andes.
He was a truck driver for Dellwood Creamery, Delhi and Heritage Energy, Ellenville. He was a security guard at VAW Aluminum and was an avid bowler. He served in the United States Army during WW II.
He is survived by his wife, Mae of 58 years; three sons, David and his wife, Shirley of Napanoch, Donald and his wife, Sylvia of Hamden, Andrew of West Palm Beach, FL; a brother, Clarence of Andes; many grandchildren, William of Kerhonkson, Lisa Slegona and husband, John of Ellenville, Jean Derrick of Napanoch, David Jr. of Napanoch, Lance and wife, Marie of Rosendale, Gerald and wife, Barbara of Wawarsing, Amanda and Frank of Napanoch, Rebecca and Brian Horvath also of Napanoch, Andy Jr. Gibson of PA, Andrea Lemus of Kingston, Matthew Gibson and Clifford Gibson both of PA, Brian and wife, Nancy of Ellenville, Dawn Van Buern of Walton, Christina and husband, Jason Marko of Staatsburg; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the funeral home. The Rev. Jay Vogelaar officiated.
Burial will be in Andes Cemetery.
Lori Mae Alonso
Shift Leader, 40
Lori Mae Alonso, a shift leader at Dunkin Donuts in Monticello, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 40.
The daughter of Walter Conklin and the late Dorothy (Price) Conklin, she was born January 15, 1964 in Monticello.
Survivors include her father, Walt Conklin of Monticello; her son, Jorge Alonso; her two daughters, Jessel Alonso and Jennel Alonso, all at home; two sisters, Amy-Jo Conklin of Bridgeville and Karen Patel of Monticello; and a brother, Keith Conklin of Monticello.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. The Rev. Roy Shaffer will officiate.
Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date in the Hurleyville Cemetery.

Ruth Claire Beimler
Ret. Teacher, 79
Ruth Claire Beimler of Liberty, a retired reading teacher and a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. She was 79.
The daughter of the late Louis and Gertrude Beaufrere Eggert, she was born June 18, 1925 in Mt. Vernon.
She was a graduate of A.B. Davis High School in Mt. Vernon. She was also a Junior League Volunteer at Mt. Vernon Hospital during World War II and had been an active member and Sunday School Teacher at the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Vernon. She later was an active member of the First Presbyterian Churches of Patterson, Liberty and Plano, TX. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. George Beimler.
In a family statement, "Ruth was fond of dachshunds and was proud to have raised five generations."
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie of Tucson, AZ; a son, Gregg and his wife, Teri of Liberty; two grandsons, Nik and Jack also of Liberty and many devoted friends.
Visitation will be Friday (today), October 8, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home on West Street at Buckley, Liberty.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Liberty, So. Main Street, Liberty. The Rev. Sally Francisco-Baumer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.

Vincent L. Panetta
Ret. Therapy Aide, 74
Vincent L. Panetta of Middletown, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton. He was 74.
Born in Middletown on August 30, 1932, he was the son of Peter and Antoinia Comi Panetta.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War. He retired as a Therapy Aide at Middletown Psychiatric Center Middletown, and served as Vice President of the Civil Service Employee Association, was a member of the First Ward Social Club, The Sons of Italy, The Knights of Columbus John Paul the Great Council #486 and the Middletown American Legion Post 151.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy A. Vasquez Panetta, at home; his son, Vincent L. Panetta, Jr. of Middletown; three daughters, Joanne Carman and Maggie Guadalupe and her husband, Hector, all of Middletown, Louise Long and her husband, Brian of Lake Louise Marie; six grandchildren, Heather, Michael and Jessica Carman, David Panetta, Justin Guadalupe, all of Middletown and Daniell Long of Lake Louise Marie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Panetta, Rocco Panetta, Peter Panetta and Sal Panetta.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 26 from 7-9 P.M. at Morse Funeral Home, Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, N.Y. with American Legion.
Services will be at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, July 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Morse Funeral Home , Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown with Knights of Columbus services at 7:30 P.M. followed by Prayer services at 8 P.M.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Middletown with burial to follow with Military Honors in St Joseph Cemetery, Middletown.

Harriet F. Zawacki of Middletown, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus after a brief illness. She was 80 years old.
The daughter of the late Raymond Botsford and Ruth O'Dell, she was born January 30, 1927 in Hackensack, N.J. She grew up in Newburgh and later moved to Narrowsburg where she resided for many years.
She was retired from New York Telephone/NYNEX of Monticello and was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include her son, Herbert Engelmann and his wife, Marianne of Monticello; two daughters, Patricia Thomas and her husband, Joseph of Ridgely, Md., and Phyllis Bowers, at home; grandchildren, Joseph Thomas, Jr. and Danielle Thomas of Maryland, Michael Engelmann, Cassandra Engelmann, and Ashley Boothe of Monticello, and Alicia Bowers and Carly Bowers at home; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Courtney, Katelyn, Gabriella, Breonia, Michael, Andrianna, and Devin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Herbert Engelmann, Sr., who passed away in 1968 and Edward Zawacki who passed away in 1994; her son, Herman Engelmann; grandson, Gregory Thomas; granddaughter, Tonya Engelmann; and her brother, Charles Botsford.
Her family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Menezes and Dr. Calabrese along with the entire staff at Crystal Run Healthcare, the staff at Southwinds Adult Daycare Program, and Faith in Action of Greater Middletown, for all that they have done. She was a wonderful mother and will live within our hearts forever.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance was celebrated on Wednesday, July 25, in the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Middletown. The Rev. Kenneth Wonderland officiated.

Solomon (Charles) Solowitz of Monticello, a retired scrap metal dealer, and longtime area resident, died on Monday, July 23, 2007 in James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bronx. He was 88.
Solomon was born in Brooklyn on October 10, 1918, the son of Abraham and Rachel Taubman Solowitz.
He was a World War II and Korean Navy veteran. He was a member of Bethel Senior Club.
He is survived by his longtime companion and love, Tina Pantalona at home; his daughter, Babbs Solowitz Kaplinsky of Los Angeles, Calif.; his son, Sandy Solowitz of Los Angeles; his three grandchildren, Samatha Lee, Molly and Robert; his brother, Martin Soloway of Florida; his two sisters, Florence Steurenthal of Florida and Rosalind Mazo of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Solomon was predeceased by his wife, Lillian and his four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26, 2007 in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Inc., Monticello. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiated.
Burial was made in the Agudas Achim Cemetery, Livingston Manor.

Ret. business owner, 81
Mary Cade, retired owner of Cade’s Store in Callicoon and a lifetime area resident, died Monday, August 6, 2007 in Callicoon. She was 81.
The daughter of the late Osmer and Barbara Herbert Graby, she was born January 10, 1926 in Callicoon. She was the widow of Tillson G. Cade.
She was a member of Upper Delaware Ambulance Corps, Grover Hermann Hospital Auxiliary, and the Delaware Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a niece, Joan Yepson; nephews, Raymond Rutledge, Gary Rutledge, Connie Lawrence; 16 great-nieces and nephews; 24 great-great-nieces and nephews; and a special daughter she never had, Cheryl Foland Lavicska and her son Mickey Lavicska.
Services were held Friday, August 10 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main St., Callicoon.
Burial was made in Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee, Pa.
