Mary Faybik of Monticello, a seamstress for Helen Morrell Elegant Fashions of Wurtsboro and a longtime area resident, died Friday, August 1, 2003, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. She was 83 years of age.
The daughter of the late Stephan and Julie Laso Barna, she was born November 21, 1919, in Czechoslovakia. She was the widow of Emil Faybik to whom she was married 25 years.
Mrs. Faybik was a member of the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus, St. Peter's Church in Monticello, AARP of Bethel and the Bethel Senior Association.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Schuberth of Smallwood; six grandchildren, Jeanine Nielsen of Smallwood, Christine DeGregery and her husband, Keith of El Paso, Tex., Peter Schuberth, Andrew Schuberth, Stephen Schuberth and Mark Schuberth, all of Smallwood; a great-grandson, Jonathan Harnid of Smallwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Peter's Church in Monticello with Father Timothy Wiggins officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.

Oliver L. McCague
Artist, 29
Oliver Lawrence McCague of Monticello, an artist, entrepreneur and outdoorsman, died Thursday, July 31, 2003. He was 29 years of age.
The son of Joan Curtin and Francis McCague, he was born February 13, 1974, in Manhattan.
In a family statement, it was said, "Growing up in the United States and the Republic of Ireland, Oliver touched the lives of so many people. His adoring family and loving friends will sorely miss him. His sense of adventure and carefree love of life were equal to his compassion and honesty. His ideals of love conquering all, and his ability to genuinely embrace life's gifts, served as a lesson to all those whose lives he touched."
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Alpa Patel; two sons, Rikheil Patel and Conal McCague; his grandmother, Joan Curtin; two brothers, Steven and Kevin McCague; and many other family members in both the United States and Ireland.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday at St. Peter's R.C. Church in Monticello with Father Timothy Wiggins officiating.
Burial was made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.

Homemaker, 75
Helen Goetke of Eldred, a homemaker and a 28-year area resident, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at her home. She was 75 years of age.
The daughter of the late Daniel and Celia Glynn Dresch, she was born June 10, 1928, in Brooklyn.
Mrs. Goetke was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Yulan, the AARP and was an active member of the Highland Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tony Goetke, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Diane Goetke of Rexford; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Sean O'Neill of Hawthorne, N.J., Mary and John McEneaney of Broad Channel and June and Scott Hallock of Highland Lake; a brother, Dan Dresch of Yaphank; eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Scott Jr., Caitlin, John Brendan, Kayla, Meaghan, Amelia and Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard Price
Ret. Plant Oper., 64
Richard "Tom" Price, a retired plant operator for the Village of Monticello Water Department and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at the Horton Campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 64 years of age.
The son of the late Lester and Florence VanKeuren Price, he was born September 15, 1938, in Monticello.
Mr. Price was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1957 to 1959. He was a member of the Southwoods Motor Cross Club, Southwoods Sportsmen's Club, a past president of the Jackson Hunting Club and a member of Monticello Elks Lodge #1544.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marjorie Avery Price, of Monticello; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Christine Price and Neil and Ellen Price, all of Monticello; four brothers, Lester Price of Monticello, Robert Price of Swan Lake, and Raymond Price and Donald Price, both of Monticello; four sisters, Marilyn Taylor of Oklahoma, Shirley Calhoun of Monticello, Carol Surerus of Rock Hill and Violet Calhoun of Monticello; four grandchildren, Kristi, Courtney, Josh and Nick; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold "Scoop" Price.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the VanInwegen Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, with the Rev. Paul Case Jr. officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will be held at the Budd Cemetery.
Floyd J. Hill

Floyd J. Hill of Woodbourne, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, at the Sullivan County Adult Center in Liberty. He was 82 years of age.
The son of the late Floyd and Sarah Minnehan Hill, he was born June 6, 1921, in Woodbourne. He was the widower of Barbara G. Bumpy Hill.
After retiring from the New York State Correctional Facility as an LPN, he became a correctional officer for the NYS Department of Corrections. He was also a co-proprietor of The Village Inn and founder and treasurer of the First Federal Credit Union in Woodbourne.
Mr. Hill was an avid coin collector. He was a member of the American Numismatic Association, a past president of the Beaver Dam Hunting and Fishing Club, a member of Wood Pond Hunting and Fishing Club, a past president of Fallsburg Little League, serving for many years. He was also a scout master for Boy Scout Troop 89 and received a Bronze Pelican Medal. Mr. Hill was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, a charter-life member of the Woodbourne First Aid Squad, a past chairman and commissioner of the Woodbourne Fire District for 36 years, a 56-year member of the Woodbourne Fire Company and a past chief of the Woodbourne Fire Police, all in Woodbourne. He was also a past president of the Board of Directors of the Sullivan County Historical Society.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Christine Hill of Woodbourne; a sister-in-law, Frances Hill of Grahamsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Doug and Dilbert Hill.
Friends may call at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 Main St., Woodbourne, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Firematic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Michael A. Scullion of Cochecton, an employee of Allied Movers in New York City, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Castle Point. He was 49 years of age.
The son of Allan and Joan Shaw Scullion, he was born April 29, 1954, in Wilmington, Del.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Scullion is survived by his parents of Cochecton; four children, Angela, Richard and Erica Scullion of the state of Florida, and Jessica Scullion of Queens; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Linda Scullion of Long Island, John and Veronica Scullion of Port Chester and James and Susan Scullion of the Bronx; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Brenda Scullion of Long Island, Nancy and Harold Rhodes of Jeffersonville and Wendy and Richard Sontag of Arizona; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Hagerty officiating.

Evelyn Brustman of Obernburg, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at the Grover M. Hermann Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Callicoon. She was 85 years of age.
The daughter of the late William and Elsie Theadore, she was born April 9, 1918, in Roscoe.
Mrs. Brustman was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and the Rosary Society of the church, both in Obernburg.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Brustman, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Ruth Brustman of Obernburg; a grandson, Brian Brustman, and his wife, Lori, of Obernburg; and two sisters, Eleanor Atkins and Clara Atkins, both of Liberty. She was predeceased by three brothers, William, John and George Theadore.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Mary's Church in Obernburg with Father Gus Richardson, OFM, officiating.
Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery in Obernburg.

Antonio "Tony" C. Perito of Ellenville, a retired produce manager for Grand Union in Ellenville and a former resident of the Bronx, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at New York Presbyterian Cornell Hospital in New York City. He was 68 years of age.
The son of the late Antonio and Placida DiDomenico Perito, he was born April 3, 1935, in the Bronx.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lucille Perito, at home; a daughter, Carolyn Perito of the Bronx; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony L. and Veronica Perito of Woodbourne; two grandchildren, Jacqueline and Tony Perito of Woodbourne; four sisters, Angie Miller and Mickey Gannon, both of Yorktown Heights, Anna Sabbatini and Theresa Mueller, both of New Jersey; two brothers, Vincent Perito of Rye Brook and Gerard Perito of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Augey Perito.
