Mildred Frances Bound of Liberty, a lifelong area resident and a retired chambermaid for the Concord Hotel, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at her home. She was 93 years of age.
The daughter of the late Miles and Ida Steele Lovelace, she was born May 10, 1910, in Rutherford, N.J. She was the widow of Oliver Leroy Bound who died July 20, 1954.
Mrs. Bound is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Rebecca Bound of Green Bay, Va., and Edward O. and Helen Bound of Liberty; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Antoinette Rising of Liberty, Dora and William Baker of Fishkill, Margaret and Edward Champlin of Liberty and Rae Anne and Thomas Lakin of Sidney; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert C. Nadelen officiating.
Burial will be made later in the Cooks Falls Cemetery.

Michael Hedderman
Corrections Offc., 45
Michael J. Hedderman of Napanoch, a corrections officer at the Eastern NY Correctional Facility in Napanoch and a longtime area resident, died February 2, 2004, at his home. He was 45 years of age.
The son of the late Maurice Sr. and Dorothy Miller Hedderman, he was born February 4, 1958, in Staten Island.
Mr. Hedderman was a member of the Ellenville Elks Lodge #1971.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kirby Hedderman of New Jersey; three sisters, Susan Collicelli of Crofton, Md., Lorraine McCrane of Wurtsboro and Dorothy Pullo of Annapolis, Md.; a brother, Peter Hedderman of Spotsylvania, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Loucks Funeral Home, Route 209, Ellenville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held Friday evening.
Cremation will be private.

Douglas Marshall
Ret. Electrician, 85
Douglas R. Marshall of Wurtsboro and the Bronx, a retired electrician for the NYC Board of Education, died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at the Horton campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 85 years of age.
The son of the late John McIvor and Nina Turpin Marshall, he was born December 11, 1918, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion in Wurtsboro.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose Sposato Marshall, at home; a daughter, Donna Marshall of Long Island; two nephews; a grand-nephew; a grand-niece; and several cousins.
A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, with military honors.

Marion Elizabeth Blake Ross of Los Altos, Calif., a former resident of Grahamsville, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at the Pilgram Haven Healthcare Center in Los Altos, after a long illness. She was 88 years of age.
The daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth Rusk Siegman Blake, she was born December 29, 1915, in Maybrook, one of 10 children. She was the widow of Walter Eugene Ross who died after 36 years of marriage.
Mrs. Ross is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Diane Ross of Sunnydale, Calif., Craig and Patty Ross of Richmond, Va., and Terry and Kathy Ross of Fort Jones, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Ross still has younger generation relatives in the Maybrook area.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown..
Burial will be made in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown.

Harriet Kaplan, a longtime resident of Monticello with a winter home in Lake Worth, Fla., and a retired manager of the former Kaplan's Delicatessen in Monticello, died Sunday, February 8, 2004, at the Wellington (Fla.) Hospital. She was 83 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Kuntz, she was born October 17, 1920, in the Bronx.
Mrs. Kaplan is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Ben Kaplan, a columnist for the Sullivan County Democrat, at home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sari and Joel Mittleer and Ricki and Steven Lacy; four grandchildren, Tracey Daniels and her husband, Jason, of Queens, Mara Epstein and her husband, Eric, of Manhattan, and Emma and Carly Rothfeld, both of Boston, Mass.; four sisters-in-law, Ellen Kaplan of Bardonia, Temmy Kaplan of Margate, Fla., Irene Fritsch and her husband, Robert, of Sarasota, Fla., and Rebecca Kaplan of Monticello; and six nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Bernard Kuntz.
Services were held at Menorah Gardens in Florida.

Edna Mae Koenig of Bloomingburg, a retired senior payroll clerk for Camloc in Paramus, N.J., died Wednesday, February 4, 2004,, at the Horton campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 80 years of age.
The daughter of the late Frederick and Edith Agnes Fellows Zukschwerdt, she was born July 20, 1923, in New York City.
Mrs. Koenig was a founding member and past president of the Bloomingburgh Restoration Foundation, a former Bloomingburg tax collector and village clerk and a former owner of Amber Life Mobile Home Park. She had also taught Sunday School at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Koenig, at home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and William Fedun of Wurtsboro and Edie and Mike Rafferty of Circleville; four grandchildren, William Fedun Jr. and his wife, Trisha, of New Hampton, Elissa Skala and her husband Frank, of Bloomingburg, and Kaitlyn and Megan Rafferty of Circleville; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Lynn and Madison Fedun of New Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Liberty.
Burial was made in George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, N.J.

Robert Denton Lybolt I of Glen Spey, a retired truck driver for ProVan and Dairymen's League, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at his home. He was 79 years of age.
The son of the late Edward and Osamae Denton Lybolt, he was born May 10, 1924, in Howells.
A World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Shawanga Mountain Memorial Post No. 4947, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Bloomingburg; a member of the Phoenix Engine Company #4 in Middletown; a member of Teamster Local 445; and a member of the United Church of Christ at New Vernon.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Horton Lybolt, at home; 10 children and their spouses, Bonnie and Doug Culhane of Newburgh, Robert II and Cindy Lybolt of Middletown, Ronald and Mary Lybolt of Glen Spey, Connie and Daniel McGuire of Otisville, Richard and Mary Lybolt of Glen Spey, Barbara Lybolt, at home, Jane and Trevor Meckle of Narrowsburg, Rocky Ford of Middletown, Betty and Doug Fiore of Arizona and Guy and Cheryl Ford of Florida; a son-in-law, Harold Daktar of Middletown; 33 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Donna Daktar.
Burial of the cremains will be made in the spring.

Evelyn Ruth Newell of Milford, Pa., a retired licensed practical nurse for Yonkers General Hospital, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at the Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Otto and Anna Marie Schurr Arleth, she was born October 31, 1929, in Sayerville, N.J.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry F. Newell, at home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Diane Newell of Walden and Otto and Jeanne Newell of Matamoras, Pa.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Frank Polera and Darlene and Thomas Panagulis, all of Montgomery, and Melodie and Manuel Leon of Narrowsburg; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph Sparks Jr. of Loch Sheldrake died Monday, February 2, 2004, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 62 years of age.
The son of the late Joseph Sr. and Lula Jones Sparks, he was born July 10, 1941, in Uniontown, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie Sparks, at home; a son, Joseph Sparks III of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Yolanda Sparks-Igbail of Woodridge; six grandchildren, Cherry, Sierra, Nehemiah, Samuel, Domnique and Kenneth; nine brothers and sisters; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Monday at the Ellenville Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ellenville with Pastor David Cuke officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home.
