Diane L. Dowling of Grahamsville, a retired telephone repair technician for Frontier Communications in Monroe and a lifelong resident of Monroe, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, after a long illness She was 58 years of age.
The daughter of the late Edward and Janet Wilson Bowler, she was born September 11, 1946, in Newburgh.
Mrs. Dowling was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a certified clown who volunteered throughout the area for various children's organizations, and was known as "Lady Di."
She is survived by her husband, George Dowling Sr., at home; two sons, George Dowling Jr. and his fiancée, Marie, of Kenoza Lake, and Ronnie Dowling and his wife, Sandy, of Rock Tavern; two brothers, Gary Schultz and his wife, Debbie, of Clinton, Iowa, and Erve Schultz of Newburgh; a sister, Eileen Bowler of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Shauna, Victoria, Hailey and Dylan; and three nephews, Gary, Christopher and Anthony. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Bowler.
Services will be private.
Cremation will be made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Eugene Bloom
Businessman, 75
Eugene "Gino" Bloom of Rock Hill, a self-employed owner/operator of a lawn maintenance business, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Lewis and Lena Bloom, he was born March 19, 1929, in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Bartnoff Bloom, at home; three step-children; and five step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother.
Graveside services and burial were held Thursday at the Wood-ridge Synagogue Cemetery in Glen Wild with Rabbi Irving Goodman officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello.
Sarah A. Conklin
Homemaker, 59
Sarah Alice Elston Conklin of Livingston Manor, a lifelong area resident and a homemaker, died February 28, 2005, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 59 years of age.
The daughter of the late Melvin and Sarah Towne Conklin, she was born November 1, 1945, in Ellenville.
She is survived by her former husband and his wife, Floyd Sr. and Justine Elston, and their two children, Lori and David; two sons, Robert Allen Elston and Michael Lee Elston and his fiancée, Christine Parken, all of White Sulphur Springs; two daughters, Roseann Joy Mason of North Creek and Tina Hazel Smith and her husband, Philip, of Liberty; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Beatrice Conklin and two sisters, Elizabeth Startup and Susan Conklin, all of Accord; 22 grandchildren; an unborn grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Floyd Elston Jr.
Friends may call at the Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. Jeff Golliher officiating.
Burial will be made in the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.
David L. Jervis
Truck Driver, 53
David L. Jervis of Napanoch, a truck driver for TFL Transportation in New Windsor and a former resident of Oradell, N.J., died Monday, February 28, 2005. He was 53 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Fiocco Jervis; three children, LeighAnne, Lynda and Bradley Jervis; four step-children, Randy, Christopher and Bryan Flanagan and Erin Weigele; his parents, Adele and William L. Jervis; two brothers, William V. Jervis and his wife, Janet C., and Donald R. Jervis and his wife, Krista; a sister, Janet L. Villano and her husband, George; and nieces and nephews, including Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, Laura, Renn and Victoria.
A memorial service will be held at the Grahamsville Reformed Church on Saturday at noon.

Frank E. Bennett, 83
Frank E. Bennett of Ellenville died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. He was 83 years of age.
The son of the late Palmer W. and Freda Berntz Bennett, he was born August 30, 1921, in Catskill.
A corporal in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, he recieved the American Service Medal, the EAME Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory medal. He was a member of the DeLeo-Braunstein-Maier Post No. 8959, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Kerhonkson, and a past president of Scorsby.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Ruth Bennett, at home; three children, Terry Bennett and his wife, Marianne, of Bloomingburg, Scott Bennett of Ellenville, and Kevin Bennett and his wife, Pat, of Ulster Heights; seven grandchildren, Nisa, Cory, Joseph, Christian, Brice, Jeremy and Amy Bennett; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brunk and her children; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Bennett, a sister, Elizabeth Miller, and a brother, William Brunk.
Friends may call at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 Main St., Woodbourne, on Saturday, March 5, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in the Spring in the family plot in Fan-tinekill Cemetery.

Charlotte Morton, 75
Ret. Registered Nurse
Charlotte "Lou" Goodchild Morton of Pine Bush, a former resident of Woodbourne, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Orange Regional Medical Center, after a long, hard battle fighting pulmonary disease. She was 75 years of age.
The daughter of the late Francis and Rose Allen Goodchild, she was born July 31, 1929, in Chateaugay. She was the widow of John H. Morton who died February 13, 1975.
Mrs. Morton was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, the Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Clarence Hoyt Post No. 9217, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Liberty.
After the death of her husband, she attended Sullivan County Community College to become a medical lab assistant, where she received an award for making the most progress in the program. She graduated in 1976. She later attended Dutchess County College for nursing where she remained on the Dean's List until she graduated in 1982, becoming a registered nurse from which profession she retired in July 1992.
In a family statement, it was said, "Charlotte, who was better known as 'Lou' or 'Lucille,' was very devoted to her family and was always looking out for everybody else."
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Veronica and Michael Evans of Bradley, Donna and Butch Kortright of Parksville, Tonya and Troy Moore of Ft. Benning, Ga., and Gayle Montanya of Pine Bush; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Lauretta Morton of Woodbourne; three sisters, Janet Miller of Massena, Joy Wake of Syracuse and Joyce Wake of Sidney; two brothers-in-law, Richard Manning of Chateaugay and Donald Morton and his wife, Marge, of Pine Bush; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Eugene Morton, a brother, Buddy Goodchild and a sister, Ellen Manning.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be made in the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery in the Spring.

John P. Semo
Ret. Maintenance Man, 84
John P. Semo of Liberty, a resident of Sullivan County since 1949 and a retired maintenance man at the Raleigh Hotel in South Fallsburg, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 84 years of age.
The son of the late Stephen and Anna Grabowski Semo, he was born July 13, 1920 in Barnesboro, Pa. He was the widower of Katherine Joan Martin Semo who died in 1984.
A World War II Army Air Force veteran, he served from 1942 to 1946, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant with the Military Police.
Mr. Semo was a member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty.
He is survived by two sons, John "Jack" Semo of Liberty and Stephen Semo and his wife, Kim, of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Katherine McCombs and her husband, George, of Cragsmoor, and Donna DiBartolo of Liberty; a brother Steven Semo and his wife, Sue, of Cleveland, Ohio; five sisters, Mary Kudlawiec of St. Benedict, Pa., Frances Semo of Barnesboro, Pa., Sylvia Guitar and her husband, Bill, of Warren, Mich., Jean Szczurek and her husband, John, of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Patricia Savolski and her husband, Edward, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Edward Semo; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Semo, and a son-in-law, Anthony DiBartolo
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Peter's Church, 264 N. Main St., Liberty, with the Rev. Ivan Csete officiating.
Burial with military honors will be held in St. Peter's Cemetery after the mass.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.
Ruby Romolo
Homemaker, 86
Ruby M. Seeley Romolo of Livingston Manor passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was 86.
She was the daughter of David and Ethel Sprague Seeley. She was born May 16, 1921 in Beaverkill.
Ruby loved nature and was very devoted to her family. She was a prize-winning cook. She showed her love through the wonderful cooking and baking that she did for her friends and family.
Survivors include her three daughters, Diane Kowalewski of Omaha, Neb., Angela Romolo-Lorio and her husband, Michael of Millwood, Lori Romolo of Bluffton, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Romolo of Liberty; two sisters, Clara Winner of Livingston Manor and Marjorie Smith of Glenville; along with 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Richard “Chico” Romolo; and one great grandson, Ryan Patrick Romolo; 4 brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at The Community Church at Grooville. Rev. David Mc-Carthy will officiate.
Interment will follow at Lew Beach Cemetery.
