Ret. Hotel Worker, 80
Lawrence T. Black of Monticello, a longtime area resident and a retired hotel worker, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor. He was 80 years of age.
The son of the late John and Gertrude Gleason Black, he was born December 5, 1924, in New York City.
Mr. Black was an Army Veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his adopted family, the Newells.
Services were held Thursday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Monticello
Burial was made with military honors at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.
Spyro Fikioris, 37
Spyro Fikioris of Harris, a 20-year area resident, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 37 years of age.
The son of Basil and Kallippi Xenaria Fikioris, he was born March 1, 1968, in New York City.
In a family statement, it was said, "Spryro was a kind and gentle young man who was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by his famiy and friends at the Center for Discovery.
He is survived by his parents in Greece, and his friends at the Center for discovery.
Services were held Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home in Liberty with the Rev. Chris Talleos officiating.
Burial was made in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.
Frank R. Konefal
MR Supervisor, 48
Frank R. Konefal of Monticello, a supervisor for American Totalisator at the Monticello Raceway and a longtime area resident, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at his home, after a long illness. He was 48 years of age.
The son of the late John and Lena Kornacki Konefal, he was born May 14, 1956, in Queens.
Mr. Konefal was a past member of the Rock Hill Fire Department, serving with the Dive Squad, and a member of the Rock Hill Ambulance Corps.
He is survived by two daughters, Jessica and Vanessa, a son, Jack, and their mother, Judy Konefal, all of Monticello; a brother, John Konefal and his wife, Ruth, of Rock Hill; a sister, Barbara Skelley and her husband, Bill of Manchester, Md.; his devoted friend, Christine Vitale; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, Monticello.
Burial will be made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.

Theodore Fila, 85
Ret. Blast Furnace Oper.
Theodore Fila of Barryville, a retired blast furnace operator for Ward & Leonard in Mount Vernon, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Chilton Memorial Hospital. He was 85 years of age.
The son of the late Paul and Anna Wasek Fila, he was born October 1, 1919, in Yonkers.
Mr. Fila was a member of St. Anthony's of Padua Church in Yulan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julia Sullivan Fila, at home; a son, Paul Fila of Wayne, N.J.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Theodore Fila, who died in 1997.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Eldred with Father Anthony Moore officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Raymond Hagadorn
Teamsters #391, 77
Raymond E. Hagadorn of Lehigh Acres, Fla., a former resident of Middletown and a member of Teamsters #391 in New Jersey, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in Bay Pines, Fla. He was 77 years of age.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Goshen and the B.P.O.E. #97. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Hagadorn was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lehigh Acres, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann E. Hagadorn, at home; two sons, Ron Hagadorn of Bloomingburg and Jerry Hagadorn of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Walter Hagadorn of Salamanca; and five grandchildren, Jerald, Jordan, Ryan, Regina and Michael.
Arrangements for cremation were made in Florida.
Pasquale Pantore, 84
Ret. Tractor-Trailer Dr.
Pasquale M. "Patsy" Pantore of Roscoe, a retired tractor-trailer driver, the former longtime owner of Patsy Pantore Tire Sales and a longtime area resident, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. He was 84 years of age.
The son of the late Michael and Maria Barca Pantore, he was born September 13, 1920, in the Bronx. He was the widower of Violet M. Pantore who died in 1999.
He was an avid hunter.
In a family statement, it was said, "Dad, you will be in my heart forever." Theresa.
He is survived by four sons, Patrick Pantore and Michael Pantore, both of New Rochelle, Edward Pantore of Roscoe and Adolph Pantore of Bloomingburg; eight daughters, Elizabeth Pantore of the state of Florida, Mary Ann Pantore of Valley Cottage, Josephine Shellman of East Branch, Carmella Langlois of Liberty, Theresa Graves of Roscoe, Carole Edwards of Livingston Manor, Donna Bowers of Roscoe and Patricia Glasheen of West Haverstraw; two brothers, Tony Pantore of Yonkers and Joseph Pantore of the state of Florida; a sister, Anna Reda of Carmel; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at the Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe with the Rev. William Collins officiating.
Burial was made in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.

Richard A. "Rick" Nelson of Liberty, a longtime area resident and an instructor at Sullivan County BOCES in Liberty, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at his home. He was 60 years of age.
The son of the late Edgar S. and Elizabeth Locke Martin Nelson, he was born August 19, 1944, in Evanston, Ill.
A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968 as a Sergeant.
He is survived by two special friends, Guy and Shelly Gildersleeve of Liberty; a brother, Robert Nelson of Pellam Manor; two sisters, Susan Heithaus of Tequesta, Fla., and Terry Brown Woods of Reno, Nev.; two nephews, Christopher Nelson and Samuel Woods; a niece, Annie Woods; and an uncle, Ralph Martin of Tucson, Ariz.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
Burial of the cremains with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.
Following the committal of ashes, friends and family are invited to a celebration of Rick's life at the Liberty Diner. Rick's words would have been "Have an Oh Be Joyful and it's all good!"

Rev. Belisario Santana
Retired Pastor, 75
The Rev. Belisario Garcia Santana of Liberty, a retired pastor with Iglesia Manantial de Vida of Castaner, Puerto Rico, and a three-year area resident, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Juan and Julia Santana Garcia, he was born March 10, 1930, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.
He was a member of the Mahanaim Assembly of God Church in Monticello. Rev. Santana had been a missionary in Mexico from 1961 to 1965 and a pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Lawrence, Mass., for many years. He had established a Bible School in Boston.
He is survived by his wife, Trinidad Lopez Garcia, at home; three brothers, Tito Garcia of Stamford, Conn., German Garcia of Norwalk, Conn., and Juan Garcia Jr. of the state of Florida; two sisters, Rita Reyes and Genny Figueroa, both of Norwalk, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Mahanaim Assembly of God Chruch, Spring St., Monticello with the Rev. Ricardo Romero officiating.
Burial will be made in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.

Ret. Bookkeeper, 72
Bridget Coughlan Eagan of Riverdale, a retired bookkeeper, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 72 years of age.
The daughter of the late John and Frances Hanrahan Coughlan, she was born May 9, 1932, in Kilmihil, Ireland. She was the widow of Thomas J. Eagan.
She is survived by her companion of over 20 years, Robert Trick; three children and their spouses, Theresa and Glenn Waverla of Barryville, Thomas and Bernedette Eagan of Mahopac and James and Leslie Eagan of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren, Susan Whalan and her husband, Frank, Thomas Conklin, Jeffrey Eagan, Tara Eagan, Latie Eagan and Thomas Eagan; a great-grandson, Colin Whalan; six siblings, Thomas Coughlan, Frances Harman, Peggy Dillion, Nancy Leahy, Elizabeth Looney and John Coughlan; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Michael Coughlan and James Coughlan.
