Murray Morris Rosenheck, owner of Rosenheck Farms in Sackett Lake, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006. He was 86.
He was born January 24, 1920 to Samuel and Tilly (Chamille) Rosenheck in the Bronx.
He was a member of Landfield Ave. Synagogue in Monticello as well as a lifetime member of the Elks Club. Murray loved all sports.
Survivors include his loving wife, Selma (Turetzky) Rosenheck; a son, Ted Rosenheck; a sister, Ann Goechman; four grandchildren, Shana, Alyssa, Benjamin and Joshua Rosenheck; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ira Phillip Rosenheck.
Graveside Services were held on Wednesday, April 26, in the Old Temple Section of Rose Hill Cemetery.
Debra Prokosch, 44
A gentle, loving angel, Debra Mae Prokosch of Rock Hill was called home to Heaven Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 44.
The daughter of Raymond Prokosch and Virginia Cherry Prokosch, she was born December 3, 1961 in Monticello.
DeeDee graduated from Monticello High School in 1980 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Monticello.
She was a special person who loved being with her little sisters, nieces and nephew. They were her life. She cherished every minute with them.
She is survived by her mother and father and her grandmother, Lydia Prokosch, all of Monticello; three sisters, Mary Ann VanPelt of Hurleyville, Chassidy Prokosch and Selena Prokosch, both of Monticello; three nieces, Desirae Schubert of Monticello, Frances VanPelt and Jeanne VanPelt both of Hurleyville; a nephew, Justin Schubert of Monticello; her very special love, her Honey Bunny, Charles Decker, Jr. of Hurleyville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Frances and Phillip Vandervort, and Raymond Prokosch; two uncles, William Cherry and Douglas Prokosch.
The family would also like to thank Minnie Paramore for the years she took good care of DeeDee.
Visitation will be today from 9 to 10 a.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush.

Mary E. Lawson
Ret. Resort Worker, 66
Mary E. Lawson of Monticello, a longtime area resident, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was 66.
She was an only child, born to Catherine Bostick on July 27, 1939 in Waycross, Ga.
She came to Monticello in 1962 and found employment at the Concord Hotel where she would meet the love of her life. She was later employed at Kutsher’s Country Club as a domestic engineer. She retired with over 30 years service.
Mary was known to many in the community as the Avon Lady. She was a member of the Liberty Assembly of God Church in Liberty.
She leaves to mourn her departure her devoted husband and soul-mate of 41 years, Fred Lawson, at home; a sister-in-law, Theresa Lee of North Carolina; two nieces, Juna Thompson of Florida and Sukina Lee of North Carolina; a grand-niece, Daja; a grand-nephew, Robert; a great-grandniece, Malasia; two cousins and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello on Monday, May 1 at 6 p.m. Pastor Wilcox and Pastor Law will officiate.
Cremation took place at the convenience of the family at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope.

Ronald D. Walden
Security Guard, 52
Ronald Dale Walden of Monticello, a former security guard for the Concord Resort and the Raleigh Hotel, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at his home. He was 52.
The son of the late Carl and Opal Walden, he was born May 4, 1953 in Alameda, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Walden and his fiance Danielle Lewis; a daughter, Racquel Wolochuk and her fiance Alexander Norwood; four grandchildren, Tyreke, Tia, Ariel and Alexandria; and a sister, Carla, of California.
Friends may call Friday, April 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.
Burial will be made in the Sullivan Co. Veterans Cemetery, Liberty.
Arlene R. Sadler
Admin. Assistant, 68
Arlene Robin Sadler of Monticello, an administrative assistant originally from Elmont, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She was 68.
The daughter of the late Edward J. Colvell and Anna Irene Baresich Colvell, she was born January 22, 1938 in Brooklyn.
She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Forestburgh.
She was a loving mother who raised three fine sons. She was also a caring person, in her later years giving love and care to her own mother until her death just four years ago. Most of all, we know she would like to be remembered as a genuinely good person, loved by her family and friends in the community.
She is survived by three sons, Eric J. Sadler and his wife Kristi of Plainview, Mark G. Sadler and his wife Nancy of Little Rock, Ark. and Christopher J. Sadler of East Boston, Mass.; a brother, Edward J. Colvell of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Lois Ann Moroney of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.; two grandchildren, John Patrick and Tabitha Ann; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn T. Gerke.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Forestburgh with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating.

Shawn T. O’Neill
Counselor, 50
Shawn T. O’Neill of Smallwood, a substance abuse counselor at the Renaissance Project in Ellenville, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. He was 50.
The son of John Joseph and June Anna Gorman O’Neill, he was born September 10, 1955 in the Bronx.
He was a 1973 graduate of Mahopac High School where he was a member of the school’s varsity baseball team. He attended Keystone College in Pennsylvania and Sullivan County Community College. Shawn was an ardent sports fan and a devotee of the New York Giants football team, the Arsenal football club of England, and, in particular, the New York Yankees baseball club.
He will be remembered by the staff of the Renaissance Project of Ellenville for the positive impact he made and continues to have on the lives of those he helped and worked with over the years.
A loving family man first and foremost, Shawn is survived by his devoted wife, Tracy; his loving stepdaughter, Lauren; his father, John, of Johnsburg; his sister, Peggy Prevost and her husband, Eddie, of Harrow, England; his sister-in-law, Adrienne of North Salem; his niece, Jessica; and his nephews, Liam and Angus; his cousins, Sharon and Bryan; and his many extended family members and in-laws.
He was predeceased by his mother, June, in 2001.
The family will receive friends and conduct a memorial service from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 28 at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St. (Route 209), Ellenville.

Ret. Sales Assoc., 78
Mary-Elizabeth Killian of Wayside, N.J., died Thursday at her home. She was 78 years of age.
A sales associate at Sears in Ocean Township for over 17 years, she retired in December 2005.
Earlier in her life, she worked for the Ocean Township tax office prior to her marriage to Carl Killian of Liberty in 1956.
Family and friends knew Mary as a friendly woman who prided herself in her sense of humor, her skill at jigsaw puzzles, and her love of her “grand-dog” Lucy.
Born in Ridgewood, N.J., to Russell and Elsie Watson, she attended Stratford College of Danville, Va., and went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree before moving with her family to Wayside.
She was predeceased by her husband Carl and her brother Kenneth of Paramus, N.J.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary Lou Killian, also of Wayside, and her life partner Linda Searles Stone; a brother and sister-in-law Joe and Joan Watson of Wolcott; a brother and sister-in-law Edward and Virginia O’Shaughnessy of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Jeanne and Leon Killian of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

Ross C. Croop of Long Eddy died Monday, April 24, 2006 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was 69.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Barbara; a sister, Patricia Fancher of Windsor; two brothers, Jim Croop of Johnson City and Gary Croop of Scranton, PA; his step children, Jean Foley and her husband, Joe of Endicott, Julie Rickard, Wendy Gardner and her husband, Barry, and Walter Rickard all of Binghamton, John Rickard of Texas and Joseph Rickard and his wife, Karen of New Mexico; his grandchildren, Kate, Julie Ann and Rorie Moriarity, Margaret and Gary Deyo, and Ian Rickard; a sister-in-law, Marie Petcocky and her husband, Don; a brother-in-law, Lawrence McBride and his wife, Kathleen; his faithful friends from beginning to end, Dolores O’Donnell, Beverly Edwards and Tom O’Donnell; and his nieces, nephews and cousins that he truly enjoyed the wonderful times he could spend with them. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Helen Croop.
Over the years his family and friends in Long Eddy and the surrounding area have not only shared his life, but have greatly enriched it. He was truly fortunate to have so many great people as his friends. His love, friendships and certainly his humor will be sorely missed. Ross served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retiree of the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. He was very proud to serve as Fire Commissioner for the Long Eddy Hose Co. His family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Grover Hermann Division of the Catskill Regional Center, as well as the entire staff of Wilson Memorial Hospital ER and CCU for the care afforded Ross.
