Student, 17
Kelly L. Lackey, a senior in Livingston Manor Central School, died Monday in Albany Medical Center, Albany, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 17.
Kelly was enrolled at BOCES in the Auto Tech program, and was a star fullback on the high school football team. He loved sports, fishing and automobiles.
Kelly was born in Walton to parents, Anthony and Lori Hubbert Lackey.
He is survived by his beloved brother, Kyle Lackey; his mother, Lori Lackey, and her companion, Joel Husted and his son, Matthew; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Arlene Hillriegel of Fremont Center, and great grandparents, Robert and Hilda Rossal of Bethel. He will be missed by his many aunts and uncles, and his many, many cousins.
Kelly was predeceased by his father, Tony Lackey, and his paternal grandparents, Roy and Joyce Lackey, and Adam Lasky, his best friend and “cousin”.
The funeral service will be on Friday, November 17, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kit Robinson officiating at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor.
Interment will be held at the Lew Beach Cemetery immediately following the service.

Gladys Russell
Former Seamstress, 92
Gladys Bradford Russell, a longtime resident of Middletown until 1980, and then of Windsor Locks, Conn. and Lake Geneva, Fla., died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at The Suffield House in Suffield, Conn. She was 92.
The daughter of Charles E. and Mae Noll Hubert, she was born March 24, 1914 in Youngsville. She was the widow of Melvin E. Bradford and Lester C. Russell.
A former seamstress with the Manhattan Shirt Company and then a salesperson with Kassel Brothers, both in Middletown, she was also a former member of the First Congregational Church and former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veteran Fireman of Middletown.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her son, Kenneth M. Bradford and his wife, Linda, of Windsor Locks, Conn.; two grandchildren, Suzanne Bradford Woll, PhD, and Kenneth A. Bradford; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Bennett Baisel.
Private graveside services and burial will be held in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel J. Hogan will officiate.

Joseph J. Komatz
Dockworker, 75
Joseph J. Komatz of Smallwood, “The Mystic Warrior,” died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 75.
The son of the late Joseph and Marion Fraser Komatz, he was born August 23, 1931 in New York City.
He was a dockworker for Union Local 707 at Yellow Freight in Maybrook and also was a union carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Kaiser Fraser Car Club.
He was also the widower of Barbara Komatz who died in 2000.
Survivors include his children, John Komatz and fiancée, Sharon Streit of Loch Sheldrake, Babsy Komatz and her husband, David (who was regarded as a son) of Monticello and Jesse Komatz and wife, Sharri of Bethel; an honorary son, Nelson Cortes and wife, Eleichia of Walden; a brother, Donald Komatz of Florida; a sister, Marion Mangiaracina and husband, Frank of Bellemore; thirteen grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Kelly, Heather, Shannon, Tara, Noel, Austin-Michael, Ashley, Gabrielle, Fabian, Franciana and Elina; and five great-grandchildren, Marina, Jordan, Sierra, Alyssa and Savannah.
Funeral services will be private.

Logger, 51
Raymond “Bo” Hanaburgh Jr. of Livingston Manor died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at his home with his family by his side. He was 51.
The son of Raymond and the late Marlyn Larsen Hanaburgh, he was born November 30, 1954 in Rhinebeck.
He was a logger and equipment operator for Hanaburgh Forest Products in Greenwood Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Friedman Hanaburgh, at home; his father and stepmother, Raymond and Nicole Hanaburgh Sr. of Highland Mills; a son, Raymond Hanaburgh III of Highland Mills; two stepsons, Dimetrios Lewis and Aaron Lewis, both of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Regina Carusello of Wall-kill; and two brothers, David Hanaburgh of Wallkill and Thomas Hanaburgh of Saranac Lake.
Cremation will be held at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope.

Joyce L. Caskey, 54
Joyce Lynn Caskey of Livingston Manor entered into rest on Wednesday November 15, 2006. She was 54.
The daughter of Allen and Lillian West, she was born October 17, 1952 in Far Rockaway.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Jesse Caskey; three sons, Jesse Jr., Joseph and Jason; she will be dearly missed by three sisters and one brother, Leslie and John Caskey of Hancock, Stacey and Robert Froeder of Holbrook, Kim and Donald Snyder of Walden, and Allen and Dawn West of Bellemore; three grandchildren, Jesse III, Cameron and Alana; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call Saturday November 18, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor.
Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.

Ellen Hope Dickinson McFarland, of Denton, NC, died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Stanley Regional Medical Center. She was 66.
She was born in Cornwell County on August 15, 1940.
Survivors include her daughters, Melissa McFarland MacDonald of LeGrange, N.C., Stephanie McFarland Miersch of Marshall, N.C., Melodie McFarland Miersch of Denton, N.C. and Chasadena McFarland Robertson of Albemarle, N.C.; her sister, Holly Johnston of Newburgh; and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jay Dean McFarland; her father, Walter Freeman Dickinson and her mother, Myrtle Gorton Dickinson.
Funeral services will be private.
Mary Jane Koferl, 77
Mary Jane Koferl of Woodridge died on Monday, November 13, 2006 at the Sullivan County Adult Center. She was 77.
Mary Jane was the daughter of Leonard and Pearl Skinner Koferl. She was born March 24, 1929 in Beaver Brook.
She was a member of the Neversink Valley American Legion Post Auxiliary #1053.
Survivors include her siblings, Alice Tyler, Raymond Koferl, Ann Collins, all of Narrowsburg; Lenny Koferl, Norman Koferl of Honesdale, Pa.; Eleanor Edwards of Parksville; Jimmy Koferl of Matamoras, Pa.; Gussy DeGraw of Liberty; and Rose Gallagher of Woodridge, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, and her two brothers, Harold and John Koferl.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

John Costa, 71
Frmr. Postal Employee
John Costa of Woodbourne, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2006, after a long illness. He was 71.
John was the son of Louis and Madeline Costa. He was born November 2, 1935 in Brooklyn.
He was a former employee of NYC Parks and Recreation Department and the U.S. Postal Service.
“John will be missed by all family and friends.”
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Helen Costa of Middletown; nephews, John Costa and his wife, Eileen of Woodbourne, Joseph Costa and his wife, Deborah of Woodbourne, and Larry Costa of Monroe, and his niece, Victoria Costa of Woodbourne; many grand nieces and grand nephews.
John was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Costa.
Contributions may be made in John's name to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
Private services were held Wednesday, November 15, 2006.

June Kathryn Finkle
Homemaker, 80
June Kathryn Finkle of Summitville, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton campus in Middletown. She was 80.
The daughter of the late Harry E. and Margaret Mitchell Miller, she was born May 27, 1926 in Ulster County. She was the widow of Walter Loren Finkle who died August 1979.
She was a lifelong member of the Summitville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and worked for DUSO Foods in Ellenville. She was a member of the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association.
She is survived by two daughters, Maureen Seitter and her husband Clifford of Summitville, and Judy Henderson of Vermont; one son, Walt Finkle and his wife Judy of Summitville; three grandchildren, Gregory Frost, Margaret Henderson and Katey Henderson; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Caroline Frost. She was predeceased by her companion of 12 years, Paul McCall of Hudson, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro. The Rev. Camille Regholec will officiate.
Burial of the cremains will be made in the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.
