Steven Schaeffer of Hurleyville, a self-employed carpenter, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 46 years of age.
The son of the late Irwin and Rita G. Solow Schaeffer, he was born November 30, 1953, in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife of four years, Gisa Brenner Schaeffer, at home; two sons, Eric and Lukas; a daughter, Heather; three step-children, David, Kurt and Alicia Doerbecker; two sisters, Ilene Litwak and Nancy Schaeffer; and several nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Ivan Schaeffer.
Graveside services and burial were held Tuesday at the Brenner Family Cemetery in Grahamsville with Rabbi Isaac Gottlieb officiating.

Dawn Seibert
Waitress, 38
Dawn Seibert of Loch Sheldrake, a waitress, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at her home. She was 38 years of age.
The daughter of Robert and Betty Perkins Seibert, she was born January 9, 1962, in Jersey City, N.J.
She is survived by her fiance, Kenneth Kullen; two sons, Jason Perulli of Malone and Michael Born, at home; a daughter, Danielle Sliker, at home; two brothers, Barry Seibert of Nevada and Wayne Seibert of Ohio; two sisters, Arlene Friend of Mississippi and Roberta Casso of Michigan; two grandchildren, Jason Perulli and Dakota Born; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne.
Interment was made in the Perkins-Fairweather Cemetery in Bethel.
Mary Loftus Williams
Ret. Dressmaker, 96
Mary Loftus Williams of Parksville, a retired self-employed dressmaker and craftsperson, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 96 years of age.
The daughter of the late Walter and Emma Houghtaling, she was born January 16, 1904, in Yonkers. She was the widow of John Loftus who died in 1980.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Mohawk Tribe Turtle Clan; a Sweet Adelines International member - emeritus, a member of the Sullivan County Community Chorus, the Indian League of the Americas, and a Junior Warden of the Blessed Sacrament of the Anglican Catholic Church in Liberty. She was also a member of the Family Council of the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty and a proud supporter of the Shandelee Music Festival which has established a scholarship in her name.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty with the Rev. Canon Stephen J. Dibble officiating.
Interment was made in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Liberty.

Anna Bartolotti
Homemaker, 87
Anna M. Bartolotti of Wurtsboro Hills, a homemaker and longtime area resident, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 87 years of age.
The daughter of the late Cosimo and Christina Tommaso DiCaprio, she was born June 1, 1913, in Mount Vernon.
Mrs. Bartolotti was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Wurtsboro.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Vincent Bartolotti, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Catherine Bartolotti of Hyde Park; a brother, John DiCaprio, and a sister, Rose DiCaprio, both of Wurtsboro Hills; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Giovinazzo, and two brothers, Lewis and Ferdinand DiCaprio.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Wednesday at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Wurtsboro.
Burial was made in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro.

Melvina Johnson of Liberty, a homemaker and a 15-year area resident, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 81 years of age.
The daughter of the late Willie M. and Aurelia Baker Ned, she was born July 9, 1919, in Reserve, La. She was the widow of Wash Johnson.
She is survived by a daughter, Gladys Rembert of Liberty; a brother Hosea M. Ned of Margate, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Celeste Joseph and Tanya Davis of Middletown, Derek and Cedric Johnson of Laplace, La., Pierre Finn of Suffolk, Va., Rene Finn of Mt. Holly, NJ, Dwane Finn of Liberty, Johnathan Finn of Schenectady and Sean Finn of Monticello; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three daughters, Gloria Myles, Rita Myles and Ruby Johnson.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 South Main St., Liberty, on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Matthews officiating.
Burial will be made in the Liberty Cemetery in Liberty.
Patrick Sammon, 51
Patrick E. Sammon of Livingston Manor died Monday, July 17, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 51 years of age.
The son of Eileen O'Brien Sammon and the late James Sammon, he was born February 3, 1949, in New York City.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Sammon, at home; his mother of Spring Valley; four sons, Anthony Sammon and Vincent Sammon, both of West New York, N.J., Nicholas Sammon and James Sammon, both at home; a daughter, Kristy Sammon, at home; three brothers, Rev. Richard Sammon, M.M., of Chile, Walter Sammon of the Bronx and James Sammon of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Theresa Friel of Valhalla, Ann Guerin of Yonkers and Eileen Sammon of Tarrytown; and nieces and nephews.
Services were held at noon on Thursday at St. Francis Chapel, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Valhalla, with the Rev. Richard Sammon, M.M., officiating.
Burial was made in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.

Tyler James Doolan of Bloomingburg, a student in the Pine Bush School District, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 6 years of age.
The son of Gerald Jr. and Dawn Decker Doolan, he was born June 12, 1994, in Middletown.
He is survived by his parents, and two sisters, Samantha and Stephanie Doolan, all at home; his maternal grandmother, Deborah Decker of Bloomingburg; his paternal grandparents, Gerald Sr. and Janet Doolan of Bloomingburg, and Rose and Thomas Winship of Middletown; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown, on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Eileen M. Brochu of New York City, a retired administrative secretary for US Lines in Manhattan, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at the Manhattanville Health Care Center. She was 86 years of age.
The daughter of the late Ambrose R. and Ellen O'Keefe Brochu, she was born October 14, 1913, in Liberty.
A 1930 graduate of Liberty High School and Spencer's Business College, she was a longtime resident of Manhattan.
She is survived by two nieces, Palma Brochu Avery and Barbara W. Brochu, both of Monticello; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Bruce and Bonnie Avery, Sue Goldsmith, Laurie Thelman, Cindi Brasington and James P. Brochu Jr.; and many cousins, including Rita Cuddy and Margaret Golden. She was predeceased by two brothers, Father Ambrose Joseph Brochu and Gilsey P. "Bud" Brochu; and a nephew, James P. Brochu Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Good Shepherd in New York City with Father Kevin Devine officiating.
Burial of the cremains will be made in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty.
Bertha S. Hankins
Co-owner Motor Sales, 90
Bertha S. Hankins of Narrowsburg, a former co-owner and office manager for Narrowsburg Motor Sales in Narrowsburg and a former teacher, having taught in a one-room school in Minisink Ford and the Eldred and Narrowsburg Central schools, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart, Pa. She was 90 years of age.
The daughter of the late Peter J. and Evelene Ismer Schott, she was born on March 25, 1910, in Binghamton. She was the widow of Walter "Joe" H. Hankins who died in 1999.
Mrs. Hankins graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1928 and Oneonta State Teacher's College in 1932. An avid golfer, she was a member of St. Tammany Chapter No. 492, Order of the Eastern Star, in Callicoon; a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg and a former council member of the church; and a member of the Wayne Memorial Hospital Guild in Honesdale.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Nancy Hankins of Narrowsburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Larry Failing of Utica; a brother, Vincent Schott of Honesdale, Pa; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Brett Hankins and a daughter-in-law, Moira Hankins.
Cremation will be made at the Twin Tiers Crematory in Endicott.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Tusten Church on Route 97 in Narrowsburg with the Rev. Donald Beck officiating.
Interment of the cremains will be made in the Tusten Cemetery following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tusten Settlement Association or to St. Paul's Memorial Fund, both at Narrowsburg, NY 12764.
