Frank Bastone
Ret. Manager, 73

Frank Bastone of Monticello, a retired manager for American Laundry, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis after a long battle with cancer. He was 73.
The son of the late Joseph Bastone and Sadie Lombardi Bastone, he was born May 10, 1923 in New York City.
Frank was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello where he was active as a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus; he was also active in the Boy Scouts when he was younger and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean DiIanni Bastone, at home; three sons, Dennis Bastone and his wife, Marilyn, Michael Bastone and his wife, Reesie, and Anthony Bastone and his wife, Melissa, all of Monticello; five grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, Susan, Brad and Fallon; three great grandchildren, Anthony, Alex and Julia; a brother, Raymond Bastone of Mahopac; a special brother-in-law, Michael DiIanni of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Ken Bastone.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, Monticello.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Richard A. DeRosia
Truck Driver, 56

Richard A. "Dick" DeRosia of Middletown, a truck driver for Keesler Truck and Tractor and a former Master Welder for the NYS Thruway, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. He was 56.
The son of Opal and the late Edward DeRosia, he was born Sept. 14, 1950 in Bradford, Pa.
Survivors include his wife, Diane DeRosia, at home; his mother, Opal DeRosia of Roscoe; his daughters, twins Amy Lynn Durland and her husband, Sal Lamancusa, of Middletown and Tonilynn Durland Donato and her husband, Joseph, of the state of Florida, and Jamie DeRosia of Middletown; a brother, Edward DeRosia and his wife Kathy of Roscoe; a sister, Janet DeRosia of Murphy's Borough, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Antoinette Lamancusa and James Ippolito; several nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Tony Leo and sister-in-law, Patricia Leo, both of Middletown; his dear friend and father figure, Wayne Keesler; and his constant and loyal companion, his dog Brutis.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Turi and his infant son, Christopher.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday, January 19 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main Street in Middletown.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20 at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Middletown.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Middletown.
Dick's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those who made this time a little easier through their kindness, compassion and outpouring of love and support, especially Dr. Dinsmore and staff at the Tucker Center and their extended family in the Primary Care Dept. at the Castle Point VA Medical Center.

Ann Hardy
Homemaker, 80

Ann Hardy, a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus in Middletown. She was 80.
The daughter of the late James and Lena Streit Geddes, Ann was born December 5, 1926 in West Nyack.
A family statement reads, "Ann was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her door was always open to all who knew her, offering a home-cooked meal and a warm smile. Ann (Grandma) especially loved her time traveling and cherished her children and grandchildren."
She is survived by her four beloved children, James Hardy and his wife, Lorraine of Middletown, Kevin Hardy and his wife, Liz of Thiells, MegAnn Baisley and her husband, Bob of Middletown, and Patti Andersen and her husband, Bob of Wurtsboro; her cherished grandchildren, Maryann, Erin, Kathleen, Joseph, Melanie, Victoria, Madeline, and Anna; sister-in-law, Marjorie Hardy; and several nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Joseph on April 11, 2005, as well as her brother and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 19, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 20, at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mary Corinne Welter
Ret. Ceramics Shop Owner, 96

Mary Corinne Welter of Fort Pierce, Fla., entered eternal rest Monday, January 8, 2007 at Lawnwood Medical Center. She was 96.
Mary was born on April 26, 1910 in Albany, and lived in Livingston Manor from 1946 to 1989, when she moved to Fort Pierce.
She was affectionately known as "Mums" and owned a ceramics shop in Livingston Manor before retirement. Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Livingston Manor Ladies Auxiliary, and the 8 and 40. She was a member and bookkeeper of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Livingston Manor, and attended St. Mark's Catholic Church in Fort Pierce, Fla.
She was a resident of the Pleasure Cove Community until 2004, when she moved to Lake Forest Park, where she enjoyed spending her last years.
Mary is now with her late beloved husband, Leonard "Chief" Welter, who passed away in 1989.
She is survived by her sister, Theresa Noel of Denver, Colo.; and her children, Mary Wright and Catherine Owen of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and William "Budd" Munhall of San Antonio, Fla. She often boasted of her 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be performed at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Fort Pierce, Fla., and interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
Arrangements are by National Cremation Society, 1032 N. Dixie Highway, Lake Worth, FL 33460. 561-582-3341

Feige Miller
Homemaker, 80

Feige Miller of Hurleyville died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 80.
Feige was born November 16, 1926 in New York City, the daughter of Max and Ethel Spiritus Merantz.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence B. Miller, at home in Hurleyville and her many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 18 in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Broadway, Monticello. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiated.
Burial will be in United Hebrew Cemetery Staten Island.

Omar Corsey
Cook, 52

Omar Corsey of Monticello passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 52.
The son of Joseph and Anna Harris, he was born June 28, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was a cook at the Dynamite Youth Center.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Young; his aunt, Mollie Williams; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family of the Dynamite Youth Center.
He was predeceased by both of his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 20 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne.
Burial of the cremains will be made in Philadelphia, Pa.

Lorraine Rupp
Housewife, 66

Lorraine Rupp of Barryville, a housewife and a lifetime resident of the area, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh. She was 66.
The daughter of the late George and Leona Beisel Nieke, she was born May 26, 1938 in Minisink Ford. She was married to Henry C. Rupp, Jr., who passed away in 1995.
Survivors include Leona Biccum, who grew up as her daughter, of Barryville; grandson, Andras Ferencz Jr. of Barryville; brother, George Nieke and his wife, Arleene of Eldred; sister, Nancy Bachelder and her husband, Richard of Tennessee; brother-in-law, Don Rupp of Barryville; sister-in-law, Joan Keifer of Mongaup Valley; and also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband; a son, Henry Rupp III; a daughter, Nancy June Rupp; and a sister, Leona Buccum.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, January 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and Saturday, January 20 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville.
Burial will take place in Lackawaxen Cemetery, Lackawaxen, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home.

Robert August Zwisler
Retired, SC DPW, 70

Robert August Zwisler of Sparta Tenn., formerly of Glen Spey, and retired from the Sullivan County Dept. of Public Works, died March 21, 2007. He was 70.
Son of the late August Zwisler and Ella Frey Zwisler, he was born on July 31, 1936. Robert was a lifetime member and past Chief of the Lumberland Fire Department, a past member of the Lumberland Planning Board, and a very active member in the community.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Inez Hocker Zwisler and son Darin Zwisler.
Survivors include his sister, Jean Flieger and husband Ron of Woodridge; a daughter, Teresa Vandermark and husband Kenneth of Rock Hill; four sons, Patrick Meehan and fiancee Michele of Hyde Park, Thomas Meehan and wife Sharon of Spencer, Tenn., Kirk Meehan and wife Bettie of Glen Spey, David Meehan and wife Patricia of Glen Spey; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on March 31 at 2 p.m., at the Glen Spey Cemetery, with the Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.

Howard Meadow
Liberty native, 54

Howard Steven Meadow, 54, of Las Vegas, passed away March 12, 2007. He was born March 20, 1952 in Liberty, the son of longtime Liberty optometrist Dr. Nathan Meadow and his wife Henrietta. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 33 years.
Howard was a former Metro Police officer, and was currently a City Court counselor of Las Vegas.
Howard went to Ithaca College and then went on to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, to receive his master of arts.
Howard enjoyed working and helping people change their lives through the addictions and domestic violence programs of the city of Las Vegas, for the last 15 years.
Howard will be missed by all who loved and admired him as he touched many lives.
A family statement read, “Life has to go on without him now, but we will treasure every moment we had together with him, and he will be in our hearts forever. We love you, Howard.”
He is survived by his wife of many years, Debbie; his children, Danielle, Dain and Dani; two special grandsons, Grayson, 6, and Griffin, 4; his brothers, Lee Meadow of Las Vegas and Ron Meadow and his family of Liberty, and his sister Nicole and her family in Massachusetts.
Services will be private, as per his wishes.
