Pamela Ellen Bracey, of Monticello, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 17, 2007 in Monticello. She was 42.
The daughter of Samuel Bracey and Armelda Ellis Bracey, she was born October 15, 1964 in Monticello.
She worked as a customer service representative for Bell South when she lived in Garden Grove, Calif.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Samuel and Armelda Bracey of Monticello; a son, Keyal Austin Bracey, at home; a brother, Tyrone Bracey of Long Beach, Calif.; her aunts, Gladys Smith and her husband, Willy and Millie White and her husband, Sidney; her uncles, James Ellis and his wife, Mildred, Richard Ellis and his wife, Daisy, George Ellis and his wife, Terry, Taylor Bracey, Jimmie Bracey and his wife, Christina, Leslie Bracey and Wilbur Koen and his wife, Linda; a special great aunt, Mildred O'Bannon; her nephews, Tristin Bracey of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jeremy Bracey of Odenton, Md.; and many cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, James and Caroline Ellis of Monticello; her paternal grandparents, John and Essie Bracey of Bay Minette, Ala., and her aunts, Jerleane Cleveland and Earline McCoy.
Visitation for Pamela and her Aunt Jerleane Cleveland will be held on Saturday, February 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Bethlehem Temple Church, Fairground Road in Monticello.
Their funeral service will start at noon at the church with Rev. Mervin Armstead officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Bethlehem Temple Church Building Fund.

Jerleane I. Cleveland
Nurse’s Assistant, 65
Jerleane I. Cleveland of Monticello, died in the early morning hours of Monday, February 19, 2007 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 65 years old.
The daughter of the late James Ellis and Caroline Walker Ellis, she was born May 11, 1941 in Monticello.
She worked as a nurse's assistant at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty.
She showed all of us strength, courage and wisdom throughout her life and especially during her illness. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family very much.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 45 years, Grover Cleveland, at home; two sons, Michael Cleveland of Rensselaer and Johnny Cleveland and his wife, Elizabeth of Monticello; three daughters, Nancy Cleveland of Hyde Park, Joyce Bennett and her husband, Demetrius of Buffalo and Dana Grace of Albany; three grandchildren, Shamoy, Domianque and Demetria; three brothers, James Ellis and his wife, Mildred, Richard Ellis and his wife, Daisy, and George Ellis and his wife, Terry; one very special sister, Armelda Bracey of Monticello; eight sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a niece, Pamela E. Bracey.
Jerleane, your many memories will remain in our hearts and minds. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. The family would like to thank everyone for all of your thoughts, support and prayers.

Kari Ryerson
Homemaker, 69
Kari Ryerson, an 18-year resident of the area, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 69.
The daughter of the late Albert and Camilla Hansen Sandvand, she was born September 4, 1937 in Norway.
Survivors include her husband at home, Arvid J. Ryerson, whom she married May 26, 1962; one daughter, Anita Schoonmaker and her husband, John of Glen Spey; two sons, Roy Ryerson and Kevin Ryerson, both of Glen Spey; three grandchildren, John Adams, Kody Schoonmaker, and Travis Schoonmaker; two sisters, Gonvor and Maret, both of Norway; two brothers, Kare and Hans, also of Norway, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, February 23, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Martin Meder officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush.

There will be a Memorial Service for Susan Keiser on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Congregation Agudas Achim (Livingston Manor Synagogue). All are welcome.
Henry Scheuerman
Ret. Water Supt., 62
Henry H. Scheuerman of Westbrookville, a retired water superintendent for the Town of Monroe and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at his home. He was 62 years of age.
The son of the late Henry and Doris Tomer Scheuerman, he was born February 20, 1939, in Goshen.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Harold Stoebling of Greenville; a son, James Scheuerman of Providence, R.I.: a daughter, Kathleen Scheuerman of Shelter Harbor, R.I.; three nephews and their spouses, Neil and Denise Zabriskie of Palm Bay, Fla., and Jeffery and Phyllis Zabriskie, and Glenn Zabriskie and his companion, Karen, all of Milford, Pa.; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 391 Mount Hope Rd., Middletown, with the Rev. Peter A. Rustico officiating.
Cremation will be made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Anthony "Bub" Salvati of Matamoras, Pa., a retired meat department manager for Grand Union and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at the Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 88 years of age.
The son of the late Joseph and Josephine Salvati, he was born May 15, 1913, in Middletown.
Mr. Salvati was a 70-year charter member and past president of Mountaineers Rod and Gun Club. He joined the Wallkill Engine Co. #6 on March 7, 1932. He was a past president of the Westfall Fire Department and a past chief of the Westfall Fire Police. He was a co-founder and past president of the Pike County Fire Police Association, a member of the Pennsylvania Fire Police Association, a past deputy fire coordinator of the Pike County Firemen's Federation, a member and former director of the New York State Volunteer Fire Police and a member of the Orange County, N.Y., and Sussex County, N.J., Fire Police Association. He was also a former member of the Westfall Police Department and a member and former director of the New England Fire Museum in Brewster, Mass.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph M. Salvati and his wife, Linda, of Cuddebackville, and Kevin Salvati of Matamoras, Pa.; a daughter, Sheryl Carney of Melbourne, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Sue "Suzie" Guss and her husband, Robert, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Letitia DeGraw of Melbourne, Fla., and Rose Viserta of Port Jervis; five grandchildren, Jeffery Salvati of Wappingers Falls, Karen Robinson of Godeffroy, Kelly Mead of Monticello, Kerry Mansueto of Wurtsboro and Lynn Salvati of Hemlock Farms, Pa.; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Port Jervis, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John J. Turi officiating.
Burial will be made in the Milford Cemetery in Milford, Pa.

Gaynor Ann Van Sleet of Napanoch, a homemaker and lifelong area resident, died Monday, February 18, 2002, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 75 years of age.
The daughter of Mable Mae Krom, she was born March 18, 1926, in Ellenville.
Mrs. Van Sleet was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Napanoch.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edmund H. Van Sleet, at home; 10 children, Daniel Van Sleet of Chantilly, Va., June Boucher of Farmington, Cheryl Giugitta of Samsonville, Betty Brown of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Dawn Munley of Kingston, James Van Sleet of Hudson, Fla., John Van Sleet of Portsmouth, Va., Audrey Lynn of Grahamsville, Gwen Cain of Ellenville, and Wayne Van Sleet of Milton, Fla.; 30 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marge North and a granddaughter, Miranda North.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Loucks Funeral Home in Ellenville with the Rev. Peggy Ann Sauerhoff officiating.
Burial will be made in Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.
Mary Slaver
Homemaker, 85
Mary Slaver, a homemaker and a 55-year area resident, died Sunday, January 14, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 85 years of age.
The daughter of the late Michael and Maria Lynch Molloy, she was born June 28, 1915, in Sheffield, England. She was the widow of Conrad B. Slaver whom she married in England in 1944. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Slaver is survived by a daughter, Winifred Mary Slaver of Liberty; a grandson, John Slaver and his wife, JoAnn, of Liberty; a sister, Una Austrin of Norwich, Norfolk, England; a brother, Thomas Molloy of the United Kingdom; a granddaughter, Erin Slaver; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45 Wednesday at St. Peter's Church in Liberty with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty.

Car Salesman, 66
Ronald C. Vance of Wolf Lake, a car salesman for Pontiac in Middletown, a three-year resident and former lifelong Middletown resident, died Monday, October 23, 2000, at his home. He was 66 years of age.
The son of the late Stella Morgiewicz, he was born February 17, 1934, in Middletown
Mr. Vance was a member of the BPOE Lodge in Middletown, the Musicians Union, and a member of the Ron Vance Quartet and several other bands.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Schneider Vance, at home; two daughters, Veronica Ann Tobin and Victoria Marie Felton, both of Scotchtown; four sons, Ronald Joseph Vance of Fair Oaks, Dean Arthur Vance and Vernon Mark Vance, both of Middletown, and Randy Christopher Vance of Denton, Tex.; nine grandchildren; two aunts; and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Centerville.
Interment will be made in the Wallkill Cemetery in Phillipsburg.
