Charlotte Harding Rice of Roscoe, a retired 35-year secretary for the Roscoe Central School and a lifetime area resident, died Sunday, October 29, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Johnson City. She was 88 years of age.
The daughter of the late William H. and Helen Chisholm Harding, she was born January 22, 1912, in Roscoe. She was the widow of Harold Rice who died in 1979.
A graduate of Roscoe Central School and Albany Business School, Mrs. Rice was a member of the United Church of Roscoe and the Roscoe Rockland Garden Club.
In a family statement, it was said, "She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed flyfishing and her home in Roscoe. She loved her extended family that grew through the years while working in the office at the school."
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Sprague of Roscoe and Florence Ann Wavle and her husband, Albert, of Fairlawn, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, D. John and Susan Rice of Maine, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ellen Jane Giffen.
Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the United Church of Roscoe, Church Street, with the Rev. Bridgette LeConey officiating.
Burial will be made in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.

Jack Kadansky, 90
Ret. Beerkill Lodge Owner
Jack Kadansky of Woodbourne, the former owner of the Beerkill Lodge in Greenfield Park and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, October 28, 2000, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home in Roscoe. He was 90 years of age.
The son of the late Aaron and Sonia Kadansky, he was born June 12, 1910, in Ukraine.
Mr. Kadansky was a former member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Knights of Pythias and B'nai B'rith.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Albert Kadansky, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Deanna Kadan of Woodbourne; three grandchildren, Janice, Steven and Jeffery Kadan; and a great-grandchild, Benjamin Kadan. He was predeceased by two sons, Seymour and Bertram Kadan.
Graveside services and burial were held Sunday at the Ezrath Israel Cemetery in Wawarsing with Rabbi Moshe Frank officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Ellenville.
Florence E. Stucker
Ret. Leather Cutter, 92
Florence E. Stucker of Port Jervis, a retired leather cutter for Novelty Slipper Company in Port Jervis and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, October 27, 2000, at the Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen. She was 92 years of age.
The daughter of the late Otis D. and Jennie E. Barnes Stucker, she was born October 27, 1908, in Port Jervis.
Ms. Stucker was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis.
She is survived by a son, LeRoy M. Stucker of Port Jervis; two grandchildren, Linda Cook of Yulan and Alice Barth of California; a great-grandson, Dustin Cook; a sister-in-law, Helen Stucker; and several nieces and nephews, including three nieces, Sally Von Sauers, Karen Hinkley and Jane Stucker. She was predeceased by three brothers, Warren, William and Al Stucker.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David DeSimone officiating.
Burial will be made in Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush.
Daniel Pressley Jr.
Truck Driver, 44
Daniel Pressley Jr. of Newburgh, a truck driver for Vails Gate Laundry, died Friday, October 27, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh. He was 44 years of age.
The son of the late Daniel Sr. and Alma Byron Pressley, he was born October 15, 1956, in the Bronx.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Braxton Pressley and two sons, Daniel Pressley III and Anthony Pressley, all of Hyde Park; a daughter, Sherrill Pressley of Middletown; five brothers, William, Darryl and Dwayne Cheese, all of Middletown, Keith Brewington of Monticello and Rodney Brewington of New York City; a sister, Marla Pressley of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Rhodes Funeral Home, 259 Walsh Ave., New Windsor, on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Superintendent Eugene Jones, pastor of the Hollingsworth Temple Church of God in Christ, officiating.
Burial will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.
George Stanicki, 74
Ret. Insurance Agent
George Stanicki of Hankins, a retired independent insurance agent and 16-year area resident, died Sunday, October 29, 2000, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in the Town of Fremont. He was 74 years of age.
The son of the late Albert and Mary Midura Stanicki, he was born May 14, 1926, in Roselle, N.J. He was the widower of Teresa Stanicki.
A graduate of Roselle (N.J.) High School, he was a member of Holy Cross Church in Callicoon, the Knights of Columbus Delaware Council #4478 in Callicoon, and Trout Unlimited. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Stanicki is survived by two brothers, Frank Stanicki of Nesquehoning, Pa., and Charles Stanicki of Linden, N.J.; three sisters, Adele Michalak of Toms River, N.J., Martha Martin of Branchburg, N.J., and Jane Stanicki of New York City; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Holy Cross Church in Callicoon with the Rev. Ignatius Smith officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Long Eddy.

Helen Brinkerhoff
Ret. School Aide, 87
Helen Brinkerhoff of Liberty, a retired school aide at Liberty High School and a resident of the area since 1939, died Monday, December 25, 2000, in Millbrook. She was 87 years of age.
The daughter of the late Clifford and Anna E. Parnell Moule, she was born March 27, 1913, in Riga. She was the widow of Walter C. Brinkerhoff who died in 1996.
Mrs. Brinkerhoff was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women, the Revonah-Lincoln Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Liberty Belles Home Extension, all in Liberty.
She is survived by two sons, A. James Brinkerhoff and his wife, Carol, of Charlottesville, Va., and David Brinkerhoff and his wife, Barbara, of Millbrook; a sister-in-law, Mae Stone of Canandaigua; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Liberty.
Burial will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua.

Doris Baim
Former Town Clerk, 81
Doris Baim of Youngsville, a lifelong area resident and owner of Baim’s Garage in Youngsville, died June 12, 2007 at home. She was 81 years of age.
The daughter of Clyde and Martha Eltz Joyner, she was born September 12, 1925 in White Sulphur Springs. She was the widow of Elwood J. Baim.
Mrs. Baim served as Town Clerk for the town of Callicoon for 23 years, was secretary for the consistory of the United Reformed Church of Youngsville, and a president of the Ladies Aide of the church.
She served as president of the Emmett Turner Post #276, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and was a 50-year member of the Youngsville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She was currently serving as a councilwoman on the town of Callicoon Town Board, and was a member of Clarence Hoyt Post #9217 VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Richard Baim and his wife Cynthia of Oklahoma City, Okla., Nancy Kester and her husband James of Depew, and Virginia Baim of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Betty Joyner of Liberty; one daughter-in-law, Linda Baim of Youngsville; five grandchildren, Catherine Baim, Randy Baim, Cynthia Prentice, Darren Zurich and Amy Pruitt; and three greatgrandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Dennis C. Baim.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 15 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at the funeral home. The Reverend Lee Andrews will be officiating.
Burial will be made in Greenhill Cemetery, Youngsville.

James Severing
Precinct Commander, 79
James Severing of Livingston Manor, a Precinct Commander, passed away in Grooville, Wednesday, June 13, 2007. He was 79 years of age.
The son of Clemens J. and Anna Mary Meyers Severing, he was born August 18, 1927 in Woodbourne.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was an honorary member of the Livingston Manor Fire Department, a member of the Liberty Elks, and a member and communicant of St. Aloysius Church, Livingston Manor.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, who he married on October 12, 1957; two sons, James G. Severing and his wife, Lenore, and Patrick M. Severing; two daughters, Kathleen Lewis and her husband Gregg and Maureen Stewart and her husband George, all of Livingston Manor; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Severing.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at St. Aloysius RC Church, Church Street, Livingston Manor.
Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Livingston Manor.
