Norma Stone of Denison, Texas died Saturday, June 9, 2007.
She was the wife of Jim Stone who graduated from Delaware Valley High School in 1955. Jim plans to visit Callicoon in August.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; her children, Donna Nesbitt of Denison, Texas, Linda of Sherman, Texas, and James of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Roemer of Callicoon; and nieces and nephews.
Lindasue M. Dill Neylon
Newspaper carrier, 58
Lindasue M. Dill Neylon, a former carrier for the Times Herald-Record, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at her home in Monticello. She was 58 years of age.
The daughter of the late Raymond and Joyce Dill, she was born February 13, 1949 in Monticello. She attended the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Brown of Hurleyville, Randall Brown of Rock Hill, and Christopher Brown of Ellenville; two daughters, Fallen Brown of Ellenville and Jamie Lynn Neylon of Hasbrouck; seven grandchildren; her companion of seven years, Albert Whipple, at home; a brother, Raymond Dill of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Judith Dill.
Visitation and funeral services were held on Thursday morning, June 14 at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with the Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.
Burial was made in the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.

Barbara Dymond
Homemaker, 72
Barbara Dymond, a homemaker of Fallsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 72 years of age.
The daughter of Leroy and Mary Scholtis Unnold, she was born May 24, 1935 in Brooklyn.
Barbara was a member and a communicant of St. Peter's Church in Monticello and a volunteer at Catskill Regional Medical Center.
A family statement reads, "Barbara was a strong and warm woman. She was fighting cancer for the last two years and stayed strong for her family because she loved them very much."
She loved to walk, she would walk at least ten miles a day and would sign up every year for the March of Dimes Walk-a-thon.
Survivors include her children, James Bailey and his wife, Tarry of Thompsonville, Lorraine Loucks and her husband, Bucky of Woodbourne, Michael Dymond of Florida, Frances Kiefer and her husband, Michael of Woodbourne and Burt Dymond and his wife, Heather of Thompsonville; her grandchildren, Robert Dailey and Stephanie Bailey of Liberty, Amanda Weed and Sean Cook of Monticello, Maurice Loucks of Loch Sheldrake and Christine Loucks of Woodbourne, Melissa Dymond of Florida, Michael Kiefer Jr., Joshua Kiefer, Anthony Kiefer and Jaimie Kiefer all of Woodbourne, Tremper Dymond, Austin Dymond and Adelaide Dymond of Thompsonville; great grandchildren, Destiny Weed, Cheyenne Kiefer, Justin Loucks and Jordon Loucks; her sisters, Norma Barth of Ellenville and Dorothy Vaeth of Seaford and her brother, Francis Leroy Unnold of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of Robert Dymond, and was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Joan Mohr, Robert Unnold, and Florence Unnold.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15 at St. Peter's Church, Broadway, Monticello.
Interment will follow in the Woodbourne Reformed Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, Woodbourne.
John E. Edwards
Retired Hwy. Dept. Emp., 86
John E. Edwards of Pond Eddy, a lifelong area resident and retired from the Town of Lumberland Highway Dept., died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Achieve Nursing Facility, Liberty. He was 86 years of age.
The son of the late Lewis and Lenore VanTuyl Edwards, he was born March 19, 1921 in Glen Spey.
Survivors include one brother, Richard Edwards and his wife Pauline of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one sister, Ruth Tyrell of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be private graveside services held at VanTuyl Cemetery, Hillside.
Arrangements are under the direction of Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., Port Jervis.
Jack “Jake” Rubin
Ret. Real Estate Salesman, 92
Jack “Jake” Rubin of Albany, formerly of Monticello, passed away June 10, 2007 after a long illness. He was 92 years of age.
Jake was born in the Bronx, and relocated to Monticello with his family as a young child. He moved to the Albany area in 1998; however his heart always remained in his beloved Catskills.
A graduate of Monticello High School, he served in the Army during World War II. After the war, he returned home, where he owned a taxi company, and managed the Royal Bus Lines, owned by his father. Subsequently he spent many years as a manager at the Mountain Produce Company in Monticello. In his later years, he was a real estate salesman.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jose David and the staff of the Red Unit of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home for their compassionate, attentive care, as well as a special thanks to his special caregiver, Zader Hubbard.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Richard Rubin, and his wife, Lois of Slingerlands; his daughter, Jane Antis and her husband, David of Allentown, N.J.; grandchildren, Noah Rubin and Michael and Heather Antis; his sister, Mildred (Peshie) Hocker of Tucson, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia, who passed away in 2003; and a sister, Lillian Sharoff.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12 at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Monticello.
Burial was made in the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery, Monticello.
Following the funeral, the period of mourning began at the home of Stacey Sharoff and Jerry Burton, 1 Cedar Park, Monticello, from June 13 until June 18 (excluding Friday night and Saturday) at the home of Lois and Richard Rubin, 711 Sachem Circle, Slingerlands.

Frank P. Vallone
Retired UWR Employee, 85
Frank P. Vallone of Ferndale, a retired employee of United Water Resources of New York City, and a longtime area resident, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 85 years of age.
The son of the late Phillip and Louise Linhart Vallone, he was born March 2, 1922 in New York City.
Frank served with the 384th Bomb Group of the U.S. Air Force during World War II and he was a member of the Clarence Hoyt VFW Post #9217, Liberty.
Survivors include his wife, Anna H. Smith Vallone, at home; a daughter, Margaret Nicoletti of Cranbury, N.J.; two sons, Philip F. Vallone of Toms River, N.J. and Joseph A. Vallone and his wife, Jo Ann of Wantage, N.J.; two brothers, Otto Vallone and his wife, Sally of Randolph, N.J. and Charles G. Vallone of Woodhaven; three sisters, Marie Gates of Willoughby, Ohio, Emily Parker of Virginia Beach, Va. and Louise Iavarone and her husband, Gino of Davenport, Fla.; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
The Clarence Hoyt VFW Post will conduct services Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 16 at 11:45 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 264 No. Main Street, Liberty. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be made in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty.

Phyllis Huebbe
Phyllis Huebbe, a 60-year resident of the area, and most recently of Honesdale, Pa., died on Friday, December 14, 2007 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale, Pa. She was 93.
Born on January 11, 1914, in Maddaloni, Italy, she was the daughter of the late T. Antonio Lombardi and Antionetta Imperato. She was predeceased by her husbands, Frank E. Klein and William H. Huebbe.
Mrs. Huebbe is survived by four sisters, Emelia Cavuto, Margeret Lettera, Carmela Oser and Clothilde Harris; several nieces and nephews and members of the Langley and Huebbe families.
She came to the Callicoon area in 1948 from New York City and married Frank E. Klein. She operated a luncheonette and worked as a seamstress in Callicoon. In 1967, she married William H. Heubbe and resided in Damascus. She loved her family, Callicoon, the river, and the wonderful friends she had through the years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced.
Irmgard Starr
Homemaker, 73
Irmgard Starr of Sebring, Fla. and formerly of Monticello was called home by the Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2007 with her loving family by her side. She was 73.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Henry; along with two sons, Henry A. Starr, III and his wife, Michele of Monticello and Brent Starr, Sr. and his wife, Suzanne of Sebring, Fla; three wonderful grandchildren, Ashley and Brent William Starr, Jr., of Sebring, Fla. and Marshall Starr of Monticello; several brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held privately at the convenience of her family.

Louise Marie Gregory
Ret. Cafeteria Worker, 83
Louise Marie Gregory of Monticello, a retired cafeteria worker for the Monticello Central Schools, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis after a long illness. She was 83.
The daughter of the late George W. Kinne and Ella C. Peters Kinne, she was born January 31, 1924 in Monticello. She was the widow of Edward H. Gregory Sr. who predeceased her on January 20, 1999.
Louise was a member of the First Church of Monticello, Presbyterian and the Monticello Exempt Firemen's Auxiliary. Our mom was a wonderful person who loved children and her job at the school gave her a chance to be with them everyday. We have talked to people over the years and they still remember her because of her smile and kind words to them.
She is survived by her two sons, Edward H. Gregory Jr. and his wife, Gloria of North Weymouth, Mass. and David Gregory and his wife, Linda of Monticello; a brother, George W. Kinne Jr. and his wife, Betty of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters and best friends, Caroline "Dolly" Kelley and Aimee Klecka.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert McLeod officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
