Retired Iron Worker, 83
Richard E. Stantial died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at N.Y.S. Veteran Nursing Home in Montrose. He was 83.
A retired Iron Worker with Local 417 in Newburgh, he was a member of the Highland Engine Company #1 in Cornwall.
Son of Everett Stantial and Edna Brewer Stantial, he was born in Maybrook on December 27, 1923.
Survivors include four sons: Dwayne Stantial of Staten Island, David Stantial of Ft. Myers, Fla., Robert Stantial of Bloomingburg, and Karl Stantial of Ulster Park; two sisters, Ruth Del Santo and Shirley Marano, both of Montgomery; grandchildren: Tracy, Fawn, Richie, Juliette, Melanie, Shari, Robert, and Errick, and one great-grandchild, Rick.
He was predeceased by his son, Richard Stantial.

Dolores Babcock
Housekeeper, 70
Dolores Theresa Slisz Babcock of Andover, NJ, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Andover Subacute and Rehab Center after a long illness. She was 70.
Born to Joseph and Katherine Slisz in Passaic, N.J., she had resided in Hardyston and Sussex Borough before moving to Newton, N.J. seven years ago.
Ms. Babcock worked in the file room at Selective Risk Insurance. She later worked as a housekeeper, first in Franklin Hospital and then, for 12 years, at Wallkill Valley Hospital. She retired in 1989.
She was predeceased by a son, Gary W. Babcock, in 1963; a brother, Walter Bator; and two sisters, Josephine Kutney and Dorothy Gemski.
She is survived by six devoted daughters, Deborah and her husband, Lyle Houghtaling of Long Eddy, Cynthia Sweller of Long Eddy, Connie Bennett of Palm Bay, Fla., Judy and her husband, Charles Birchenough of Wantage, Pamela and her husband, Gregory Panowicz of Milford, Pa., Lori and her husband, Fred Devens of Wantage; and her son, David and his wife, Gabriela Babcock of Dover; her dear sister, Helen and her husband, Joe LiPari of Saddle River; and thirteen cherished grandchildren.
Cremation will be private.

Florence M. Lynn
Retired Teacher, 102
Florence M. Lynn, a longtime resident of White Lake, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Henderson Farm, Eastbrook Road in Walton. Florence was born at the farm on October 16, 1904 to the late Thomas A. and Mary C. Tiffany Henderson. She was 102.
She was baptized May 6, 1905 and would spend her childhood at Eastbrook Farm. A teacher, she began her career of 33 years teaching in various local rural schools in the Walton area, and then later in Sullivan County.
She married Victor J. Lynn on September 9, 1939 and retired from teaching at the Duggan School in White Lake in 1971. Florence was a faithful member of the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church(Covenanter) where she served as deaconess and treasurer for 25 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce E. Lynn of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and a sister, Mrs. Katherine (Walter) Eells also of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews; and some cousins.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Vernon and Thomas Henderson; and a special sister-in-law, Cora (Mrs. Thomas) Henderson, with whom she lived the last several years of her life.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 13 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church (Covenanter) Route 17 B and Mattison Road, White Lake.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with luncheon to follow at Faith Hall.
Burial will be made beside her husband, Victor, at the Stewart Cemetery, Kauneonga Lake, at 3 p.m.

Charlotte Hewlett
Homemaker, 75
Charlotte Hewlett of Woodridge, a homemaker and lifelong resident of Sullivan County, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at home with her family at her bedside. She was 75.
She was born in Parksville on January 17, 1932 to the late Earl and Eva Knutt Bivins Sr. She was the widow of Harvey Hewlett who died September 16, 2002.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Donnelly and husband, William of Greenfield Park, Charlotte Furman of Glen Wild, and Carol Newell and husband, Lester Jr., of Monticello; two brothers, Earl Bivins Jr. and companion, Wanda LaPolt, of Liberty, and Winfred "Bubbie" Bivins and wife, Jean, of Parksville; two sisters, Eva Barry and husband Harrison of Liberty, and Eleanor "Snookie" Edwards and husband, Elmer, of Parksville; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one brother, Ray, and two sisters, Frances and Clara.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, February 12 at Ramsay’s Funeral Homes in Liberty. The Rev. Carl Caskey officiated.
Burial was made in the family plot in Hurleyville Cemetery.

Larry McGee, 57
Larry McGee of Monticello left this life unexpectedly to be with his late wife, Renee, on February 7, 2007. He was 57.
The son of the late Eleanor Bivins and Ulysses McGee, he was born September 3, 1949 at the old hospital in Monticello.
Larry loved to fish with all of his buddies and played cards faithfully on Saturdays. Most of all he loved watching old reruns on TV and the New York Giants.
He leaves behind a brother, James McGee, and his significant other, Susan Heath, of Ellenville; two sisters, Louise Davis and her husband, James, and Linda Thomas and her husband, Sebron, all of Monticello; two nephews, Jamarr and Anthony "Scoot"; a niece, Kevon; a special cousin, Darcell Johnson; a godson, William Kimmons; a host of cousins and friends; and his special extended family, Neil Foley and Ed Talmadge, Steve and Missy Drobysh, Sherman and Robin Kimmons, Hartley and Ronnie Talmadge, Laura and Bo Gray, Jerry and Josephine Chack, and Reginald Horace.
A funeral service was held in the Bethlehem Temple Church in Monticello with the Rev. Mervin Armstead officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Rock Ridge Cemetery, Monticello.

Business Owner, 57
Rosemary A. Pascucci-Stewart of Smallwood, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus in Goshen. She was 57.
The daughter of the late Lawrence F. and Mary Ann Pascucci Perry, she was born on April 2, 1949 in Gloucester, Mass.
Rosemary married Donald Stewart on July 3, 1983 in Smallwood. She worked in sales for the Diamond Exchange in Manhattan and was the past owner of Studs and Stones Boutique.
A family statement reads, "One of the special people who loved gardening, entertaining, shopping and most of all children."
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald, at home; two stepdaughters, Daphne and Tracey Stewart; sisters, Andrea Ramos and Helen Amalia and her husband, Steve; the love of her life, grandson Damari Stewart; aunts, Frances Choate, Sarah Wanson, Esther Desjardians and her husband, Charles, and Rosalie King; uncles, Frank Pascucci and his wife, Phyllis; Vito Pascucci and his wife, Patricia; and Louie Pascucci and his wife, Marilyn; nephews, Ronnie and Peter Ramos; and many cousins, good friends, and children.
A funeral service was held Sunday, February 11 at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. in Middletown.
Burial was made in the family plot in Gloucester, Mass.

Michael W. Shook of Pine Bush, a lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Ellenville Hospital as a result of an automobile accident. He was 34.
The son of Anthony P. and Betty Ann Cash Cicale, he was born January 29, 1973 in Poughkeepsie.
He was an Office Manager for Pine Bush Sanitation/County Waste Inc.
Survivors include his loving wife, Holly, and daughter Autumn Lyn Shook at home; his loving parents, Anthony and Betty Cicale of Pine Bush; his father, Robert Shook Sr. of Hyde Park; one brother, Robert Shook Jr. of Marlboro; a step-brother, Jeffery Boggatta of Pine Bush; one sister-in-law, Kelly Sattler of Jeffersonville; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Hendrickson of Jeffersonville; his father-in-law, Richard Hendrickson of Pine Bush; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 13, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 14 at the funeral home.

Willard Nicolaisen
Heavy Equipment Operator, 76
Willard Nicolaisen of Blooming Grove, a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Blooming Grove, and longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center. He was 76.
The son of the late Hans and Ester Nicolaisen, he was born June 4, 1930 in Goshen. He was the widower of Barbara Nicolaisen.
A veteran, Mr. Nicolaisen served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the North American Hunting Club, and the Newburgh Bowling Association. An avid sportsman, Willard enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include his children, Willard Nicolaisen and his wife, Pat of Greensboro, N.C., Karen Byrd and her husband, Larry of New Windsor, Gary Nicolaisen of Pine Bush, and Tammy Scott and her husband, Bob of Chester; his brothers-in-law, Charles Gordon of Wallkill and Michael Gordon of Walden; sister-in-law, Sue Ann Dzierzek and her husband, Al of Wurtsboro; five grandchildren, John Fleischer, Kevin and Craig Byrd, Kyle and Kelsey Scott; great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 12 in the Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. in Chester with the Rev. Karen Green officiating.
Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery in New Windsor.

John A. Galle of Cuddebackville, a former resident of Goshen, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at home.
He was born December 25, 1964 in Goshen.
He was a member and Elder of the West Bloomingburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Bloomingburg. He had been Service Manager for Norm Reeves Acura in Temecula, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lorenzo Galle, at home; one son, Jonathan Galle at home; one daughter, Loren Galle at home; father, Vincent A. Galle of Middletown, Conn.; mother, Barbara Ann Carlisle Galle of Bloomingburg; two brothers, Peter Galle and his wife, Catherine of Goshen, and Christopher Galle and his wife, Tista, of Middletown, Conn.; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 17 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 21 Joshua Dr., Bloomingburg.
Cremation will be made at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, Pa.
