Anthony P. and Margaret G. Bellizia of Elmira, New York marked their 55th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2005. Mr. Anthony P. Bellizia and the former Margaret M. Gizzi were married January 21, 1950 by Father Leo Lynch at Saint Mary's Southside on Fulton Street in Elmira Southside. The couple has four children. They are Tony Bellizia of Elmira, New York; Mary Way of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Anne Gush of Dallas, Texas; and Joseph Bellizia of Rochester, New York. They have seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Bellizia is retired from Westinghouse and Mrs. Bellizia is retired from Elmira College. ***Margaret and Tony's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would like to wish them a Very Happy 55th Anniversary! If you see them, congratulate them on such a tremendous and lucky occasion!

Obituary of Anthony Bellizia:
Anthony P. Bellizia, Age 81, of 40 Belaire Drive, Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday November 3, 2005 at home. Mr. Bellizia was born October 3, 1924 in Elmria, NY the son of the late Carmen Marino Bellizia and Grace Carozza Bellizia. He was a Veteran of WWII serving his country with the U.S. Army Tank Corps # 749 Tank Battalion. Tony was a hero in his family's heart and will be remembered for his courageous service to his country. He married his wife Margaret Gizzi Bellizia on January 21, 1950 and they recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Mr. Bellizia was a retired inspector at Westinghouse Corp in Horseheads, NY with over 35 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, St. John The Baptist Fraternity 3rd Order of St. Francis, a member of Horseheads Council # 6158 Knights of Columbus and the Italian American War Veterans, and a volunteer for RSVP and Bingo. Mr. Bellizia is survived by his loving wife Margaret Gizzi Bellizia; sons and daughter-in-law: Anthony G. Tony Bellizia of Elmira, NY; Joseph M. and Patti Bellizia of Rochester, NY; daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Grace Bellizia-Way and Kevin Way of Williamsport, PA; Anne and James Gush of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Katie Bellizia, Michael Bellizia, Cassedy Way, Peter Way, Stephanie Gush Gilkison, Jordan Gush, Justin Lucci; 4 great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Joseph and Jean Gizzi of Pine City, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Recitation of the Rosary on Saturday November 5, 2005 at 9 AM at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM. The Rev. Christopher E. Linsler will be the Celebrant of Mr. Bellizia's Funeral Mass. Interment in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Elmira, NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Bellizia. The Family will provide their own flowers and those wishing may remember Tony through memorials to Southern Tier Hospice 11751 East Corning Road Corning, NY 14830.
