Jessica Ann Makovitch of Horseheads, NY and David Michael Slawson of Elmira, NY were married July 26, 2003 at St. Peter and Paul's Church. The 11:00 am ceremony was performed by Deacon Daniel Hurley. The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Makovitch and granddaughter of Shirley Makovitch. She is employed at Nationwide Insurance as a Customer Service Representative. The Groom is the son of Joan (Phillips) Slawson and the late Mr. Richard C. Slawson. He is employed with New York State Department of Correctional Services. The Maid of Honor was Melissa K. Makovitch (Sister of the Bride). Bride's attendants were Nicole Bachert, Theresa Bonarski, Melissa Ernest and Shannon Smith. The Flower Girls were Lynsie Brown, Abbey Slawson and Allysa Young. The Best Man was Michael Manning. Groomsmen were Steve Slawson, Mark Slawson, Mike Battisti and Chris Seymour. The reception was held at Hill Top Inn. After a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico the couple will reside in Elmira.
